The platform will also introduce new ART titles with dedicated Ramadan schedules. To make entertainment more accessible, a limited-time Ramadan offer will provide easier access to favorite shows. Additionally, in Egypt, Yango Play will host a Suhoor gathering in Cairo, bringing together digital content creators to celebrate the spirit of the season.
Yango's mobility services—Ride and Delivery—are launching community-driven initiatives for partner drivers and couriers. Every Friday during Ramadan, Iftar boxes will be distributed in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. In Oman, the Iftar distribution will be complemented by the launch of the Drivers' Dream Fulfillment programme, allowing users to contribute towards their drivers' personal goals, such as home purchases, medical expenses, or improving their living conditions. Additionally, Yango's Muslim Mode feature will enhance the fasting experience by providing prayer reminders, automatically muting notifications at prayer times, and indicating the Qibla direction.
Yango's AI-powered assistant, Yasmina, will introduce new features tailored for Ramadan, including the ability to play spiritual supplications (duas) upon request in both Arabic and English. Users can simply say, 'Yasmina, play Ramadan dua' or 'شغلي ادعية رمضانية' to access these meaningful prayers.
Yango Maps is also rolling out a special Ramadan guide in the UAE, helping users discover restaurants and cafes for Iftar, from traditional meals to contemporary dining experiences. Tags: featuredpostRamadan2025Yango GroupYango PlayYasmina

ACC hosts "Al-Adiyat... Out of the Frame" exhibition

Ali Al-Mimar: A life devoted to Arabian horses Ali Al-Mimar, a graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad (1985) and a student of the late artist Faiq Hassan, has spent nearly four decades capturing the essence of the Arabian horse. His focus on this noble creature stems from its deep-rooted symbolism in Arab and Islamic heritage—representing pride, dignity, strength, and speed. Al-Mimar has held several solo exhibitions across the Arab world and participated in numerous artistic festivals. Paintings reflect realism, symbolism, and emotion The exhibition featured around twenty paintings in various sizes, depicting horses in dynamic and serene settings—grazing, running, or interacting in harmony with their environment. Some works leaned toward abstraction, emphasising traits like strength and freedom, such as a horse's head crowned with a soaring falcon or wild horses captured in moments of unrestrained energy. Critical reception and artistic analysis In a post-exhibition discussion, Dr Omar Abdel Aziz praised Al-Mimar's work for blending classical European techniques with the Arab world's most celebrated cultural symbol—the Arabian horse. He emphasised the animal's embodiment of both aesthetic beauty and emotional depth, portraying a duality of motion and stillness. According to Dr Aziz, the artist's compositions allow for varied interpretations, offering viewers multiple layers of meaning. The artist's perspective on his work Al-Mimar shared his creative philosophy, explaining that his artworks strive to go beyond surface beauty. 'My paintings are parts of human stories set in dramatic or still atmospheres,' he said. 'They carry emotions, myth, and magical realism—all orbiting around humanity as the central theme.' He added that the themes of pride, pain, and the metaphor of 'silent neighing' are ever-present in his works, which aim to express freedom and introspection through color and technique. The exhibition affirmed Ali Al-Mimar's status as one of the most significant contemporary artists specialising in the depiction of Arabian horses.

The exhibition brimmed with professional models, interactive displays, and polished presentations, all reflecting the students' commitment to addressing real-world challenges through sustainable design, advanced technology, and community-driven initiatives. This year's projects pushed the boundaries of innovation, offering fresh perspectives on sustainability, technology, and social responsibility. Many of the solutions were tailored to serve the needs of the local community, underscoring the college's dedication to producing graduates who are not only technically adept but also socially conscious. In architectural engineering, standout projects included 'Al-Hayyal,' an underwater architectural marvel in Fujairah that blends marine conservation with local heritage, and a children's center in Kalba developed in partnership with the Public Works Department. Other highlights ranged from the 'Gharas' Environmental Awareness Center to humanitarian initiatives such as advanced refugee camp designs for Kenya and sustainable community centers in Uganda. Civil and environmental engineering students presented a comparative study of traditional construction methods and 3D concrete printing for a two-story villa in the UAE, complete with detailed designs, cost estimates, timelines, and sustainability assessments. Other projects tackled the design of reinforced concrete structures resilient to gravity and lateral loads, the performance of aerogel-modified asphalt mixes for improved heat resistance, and innovative traffic solutions for major Sharjah intersections using advanced simulation models. The department also unveiled a geotechnical-structural design for a new astronomical observatory. Electrical engineering students showcased a 'chaotic mixing' system using DC motors to enhance industrial efficiency and energy savings, as well as a smart crop monitoring and protection system to advance agricultural sustainability. Their portfolio also included an AI-powered vertical farm, reflecting the growing intersection of technology and food security. The industrial engineering and engineering management department introduced practical applications such as digital twin-based educational tools, enhanced lathe processes using reinforcement learning, and a smart reservation system for electric vehicle parking. A sophisticated robotic system for parking enforcement, leveraging Industry 4.0 technologies, rounded out their contributions. Renewable and sustainable energy engineering students impressed with futuristic projects, including a solar-powered golf cart charging station integrated with hydrogen cells, advanced solar panel performance enhancements, atmospheric water harvesting technologies, and climate-resilient agricultural systems. Mechanical engineering students tackled water and energy challenges head-on, developing solar-powered atmospheric water generators, groundwater desalination plants for agriculture, and waste recycling systems that extract hydrogen for clean energy using algae-based carbon capture. Additional innovations included a novel device for measuring industrial metal wear, a solar-powered grass trimmer, and a system for eliminating bacteria in desalination plants using gas derived from seawater. Chancellor Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy expressed his pride in the students' achievements, praising their forward-thinking ideas and urging the practical implementation of these projects to support national strategies in sustainability, energy, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence. Prof. Abdel Wahab bin Mohammed, Dean of the College of Engineering, emphasized that these projects not only demonstrate technical and intellectual prowess but also embody the college's mission to foster innovation and serve society. Dr. Aref Maqsood, exhibition coordinator, echoed these sentiments, noting the students' seriousness and passion for engineering and highlighting the crucial role of artificial intelligence, interactive technologies, and industry partnerships in making the exhibition a true platform for innovation and community engagement.

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Yango Group, the global tech company, has launched the Yango Points program in Abu Dhabi, a loyalty program designed to reward users for cashless ride payments made through the Yango app. Introduced as part of the brand's ongoing commitment to deliver greater everyday value, the program allows users to earn loyalty points that can be redeemed for future rides, creating a rewards experience that complements the evolving expectations of digital-first consumers in the UAE. Exclusively available to subscribers of Yango Play, the program offers users the opportunity to earn cashback in the form of Yango Points every time they complete a Comfort-class ride using a cashless payment method. These points can then be used for upcoming rides across any category, including Comfort, Taxi, and Taxi Van, provided the trip originates within the boundaries of Abu Dhabi. The value of each Yango Point is 1 AED. Before 30 June 2025, program users will earn up to 50% cashback in Yango Points on all cashless Comfort-class rides. After 30 June 2025, they will continue to receive up to 30% cashback, creating a sustained value proposition for regular riders. The points are credited directly to the user's account and are visible on the main screen of the Yango app, offering an intuitive way to track and redeem them at any time. Once redeemed, points are deducted automatically from the total fare on a future trip. Points accrued, but not redeemed, will remain valid for 30 days after the end of a user's subscription. Islam Abdul Karim, Regional Head of Yango Group Middle East, commented: 'With Yango Points, we're making loyalty simple, transparent, and truly rewarding. Customers in Abu Dhabi are already highly engaged with digital mobility solutions, and we see this program as a natural next step, one that not only adds value to their rides but also reinforces the convenience and advantages of going cashless. This initiative reflects our broader goal of offering our community real value every time they choose Yango.' To join the program, users must be subscribed to Yango Play. New users can access the first 30 days of the subscription for just 1 AED, after which the plan renews at a monthly rate of 29.99 AED. Upon subscribing via the Yango application, users receive up to 50 welcome points, which can immediately be used toward their next ride. Existing subscribers can access the loyalty program directly from their current accounts without any additional setup. Yango Points will soon extend to cover delivery orders through Yango's Cargo service, broadening the scope of the rewards ecosystem and enhancing its value across more use cases. This planned expansion will allow users to redeem points for logistics and delivery needs, supporting a more connected and efficient urban experience.
