Move over Zac Efron! Netflix fans go wild over new hunk starring in a rom-com with Miranda Cosgrove

A new hunk is gracing the screen in the upcoming Netflix rom-com The Wrong Paris - which is set to hit the streaming site later this year on September 12.
Pierson Fode, 33, is portraying the leading male heartthrob in the movie, which also stars former Nickelodeon actress Miranda Cosgrove.
The pair are no strangers to working together and the actor notably made his acting debut in an episode of the hit series iCarly in 2012.
Fode - who was reportedly in the running to be cast as the Superman back in 2023 - has joined other Netflix hunks, such as Zac Efron who appeared in A Family Affair last year.
New images from the film were released on Tuesday and include Pierson showing off his ripped physique while on set.
The Wrong Paris follows Cosgrove's character as she takes part in a dating show which she initially assumes takes place in Paris, France - but soon comes to found out it is set in the city of the same name in Texas.
Along with Fode and Cosgrove, other cast members are Madison Pettis, Torrance Coombs, Madeleine Arthur and Frances Fisher.
Social media users jumped to the comment section of a post uploaded to Netflix's main Instagram page which showcased photos from the rom-com.
'So excited,' one fan penned, while another also typed out, 'I can't wait to watch this movie.'
Cosgrove herself also offered a simple message of her own and added an array of red heart emojis.
Last month in June, the streaming site also teased with a first look snap - and one follower labeled both Pierson and Miranda as 'gorgeous.'
But fans began fawning over the actor late last year when he uploaded behind-the-scenes photos as he had a blast on set of The Wrong Paris.
One wrote, 'Hollywood's favorite cowboy,' and another shared, 'Too much hottness in one photo.'
'@piersonfode will always be a version of Superman somewhere in another timeline,' an Instagram user commented.
David Corenswet was eventually cast in the covered role of the superhero in the James Dunn film which recently hit theaters on July 11.
'So excited for the movie. You and Miranda perfect for the role,' another fan typed out, and one shared, 'This is going to be AMAZING!!!'
Fode and Cosgrove reunited for their leading roles in the upcoming Netflix movie after they first worked together in a 2012 episode of Nickelodeon's iCarly.
The actor then went on to star in a variety of other projects, such as playing the role of Brooks in the Disney channel series Jessie.
He played Thomas Forrester in the soap opera The Bold And The Beautiful from 2015 through 2018. Fode also took on roles in shows such as Supergirl and Animal Kingdom.
Aside from television, the model has additionally appeared in a number of movies since kicking off his acting career.
He has appeared in Naomi And Ely's No Kiss List (2015), 72 Hours (2024) and The Man From Toronto (2022) - which also starred Kevin Hart, Woody Harrelson and Kaley Cuoco.
Pierson was born in the state of Washington and grew up on a farm with his family.
During a recent interview with People, Fode expressed how his childhood prepared him for his role in The Wrong Paris.
'Playing Trey felt like playing a version of myself...just with more cameras and fewer early-morning feeding,' he told the outlet.
Pierson also recalled how the cast would have movie nights and 'cue up a different rom-com each time as inspiration.'
He added, 'We love a good Matthew McConaughey moment, and you catch a subtle hat tip or two to his legacy throughout the film. With a dash of Fode, of course.'
Janeen Damian - who directed the Netflix project - gushed about the 'chemistry' between the two leading stars.
She explained that 'the sparks were there' between Pierson and Miranda which is 'not always a given.'
The filmmaker continued, 'Miranda and Pierson knew exactly where they were emotionally in the story and delivered such a gorgeous, nuanced gut-punch of a performance. It was truly a joy to work with them.'
Fode has previously garnered two Daytime Emmy nominations for his performance in The Bold And The Beautiful.
During a past interview with Soap Opera Digest, he reflected on the milestone - and how he first discovered the nod during an appearance on The Talk.
'It was cool. Obviously, I was hoping it would happen and it did, so that was really incredible.
'What really surprised me was when they showed that Instagram picture of me from the tanning booth when we were in Australia. Yeah, looking up and seeing yourself practically naked on that big screen? That was a surprise,' he joked.
Fode - who previously dated actress Victoria Justice - is active on social media, and notably boasts 1 million followers on Instagram.

Philosophy of the World review – an anarchic ode to ‘the world's worst band'

If fringe favourites Sh!t Theatre had a military wing, it would look like In Bed With My Brother. The company's three members Nora Alexander, Dora Lynn and Kat Cory walk the line between entertainment and assault, revelling in their own messiness and being thrillingly awkward. They make punk theatre: funny, relentless and furious. And if In Bed With My Brother had a role model, it would be the Shaggs. Dubbed the best worst band of all time, the New Hampshire trio were drilled by an authoritarian father who kept them in isolation to perfect a sound that was gloriously imperfect. They were mocked by audiences and even the sound engineers hired to record their 1969 album, Philosophy of the World. In a different universe, this show would be a jukebox musical. It is anything but. Alexander, Lynn and Cory kind of tell the story of the Shaggs (in captions accompanied by a pummelling soundtrack by Brain Rays and Quiet) but their greater purpose is to celebrate the band for ploughing such a singular furrow. They see in these sisters an inspirational failure to conform – whether by accident or design. Their purpose is also to rail against patriarchal forces. Austin Wiggin, father of Dorothy (vocals), Betty (guitar) and Rachel (bass), is an obvious target: a small-town svengali who, believing his children would bring him fame, forced them to rehearse and perform. Their target is also a patriarchal system that meant only with the endorsement of men such as Frank Zappa and Kurt Cobain could the Shaggs be rehabilitated. The three actors, in cave woman wigs and often not much else, are furious with the lot of them, their rage channelled against guest performer Nigel Barrett, variously playing a stage manager, Austin and Austin's ghost, and suffering a sustained attack for his trouble. It is unkept, unseemly and chaotic. And that is exactly the point. At Summerhall, Edinburgh, until 25 August All our Edinburgh festival reviews

The Hunting Wives fans think they've spotted a glaring error in the Netflix series

Fans of the hit Netflix series The Hunting Wives think they caught a mistake in the premiere episode. One TikTok user highlighted a scene in which actress Brittany Snow 's character, Sophie O'Neil, opens her kitchen freezer, revealing a Kraft Mac & Cheese product inside. 'Of all the things that shocked me about The Hunting Wives, this is the part that really had me shook,' the viewer wrote across the snippet. She added in the caption, 'Why do I always notice weird things in shows?' The clip zoomed in on the inside of the freezer, confusing fans who are primarily familiar with the food brand's pasta offerings. 'I've been WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO BRING THIS UP,' one person wrote in the comments section of Shandy's post. Someone else quipped about Evan Jonigkeit's character: 'It was definitely Graham, add that to the list of reasons we don't like him.' Another fan came to the conclusion, 'There is not reasonable explanation which makes this hilarious.' But a more knowledgable consumer shared an explanation for the puzzling display. 'Those are mac n cheese frozen meals, friend,' they shared. And a different social media user said knowingly, 'Any time a brand or logo is shown in a movie, it is a product placement. So many people are talking about this so they did their job.' The Hunting Wives is adapted from a bestselling book, and the sex-fueled show has struck a chord with audiences since its July 21 premiere. The eight-part series is based on author May Cobb's erotic thriller of the same name and adapted by Rebecca Cutler, who said she was in 'awe of its flagrant horniness.' It doesn't shy away from full-frontal nudity, no-holds-barred sex, and steamy make-out sessions that have earned it comparisons to Big Little Lies and Desperate Housewives. Viewers are introduced to its protagonist Sophie as she relocates to deep-red Texas from Boston with her husband Graham. She finds herself embroiled in the lives of a mysterious and exclusive group of gun-toting MAGA women dubbed The Hunting Wives. Among them is Margo (Malin Åckerman), who lures Sophie into their world of sex, scandal, and salacious gossip. Margo and her husband, Texas governor hopeful Jed (Dermot Mulroney), have an open relationship that gives the high-flying socialite freedom to have flings with younger men, such as the barely-legal Brad (George Ferrier) and also women like her friend Callie (Jaime Ray Newman).
