Chicago Sky Make Angel Reese Announcement After Two Straight Losses

Chicago Sky Make Angel Reese Announcement After Two Straight Losses originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Chicago Sky have lost two straight games. Losing to the Indiana Fever on Saturday and New York Liberty on Tuesday, Chicago is just 2-6 on the season. The Sky's only two wins are against the 1-10 Dallas Wings. Advertisement While this has been a disappointing start to the 2025 WNBA season for Chicago, one recent bright spot was the performance of sophomore forward Angel Reese against New York. Facing an undefeated Liberty team, Reese tallied 17 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. On the season, Reese is average 10.1 points, 12.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists on 35.8% from the field. Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese (5).Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images It has been an up-and-down second WNBA season for Reese, who has seen her numbers drop-off in several categories from her rookie campaign. That said, Chicago remains high on the former LSU star, and recently made an announcement about her. Advertisement On Friday, the Sky announced Reese had been named their Player of the Week, a team honor given out on social media. This post included a 34 second highlight reel of Reese's best plays from the last week. Selected No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds as a rookie. She made the All-Star team and received All-Rookie honors for her performance. While Reese has not been able to replicate that same success so far in year two, Tuesday's performance in New York is something Chicago hopes was a sign of things to come. The Sky are back in action on Friday against the Atlanta Dream. HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Jim Irsay, the late owner and CEO of the Indianapolis Colts, will be inducted into the Indianapolis Colts Ring of Honor at Lucas Oil Stadium during the September 7 home opener vs. the Miami Dolphins. Irsay passed away on May 21 and was laid to rest on June 2. The Colts made the announcement June 13 on what would have been Irsay's 66th birthday. Colts' deep threat Alec Pierce looking to expand his game Officials say Jim Irsay will become the 20th honoree, joining: Owner Robert Irsay WR-Bill Brooks Head Coach Ted Marchibroda G/T-Chris Hinton QB-Jim Harbaugh 'Colts Nation' Head Coach Tony Dungy WR-Marvin Harrison RB-Edgerrin James RB-Eric Dickerson RB-Marshall Faulk C-Jeff Saturday General Manager Bill Polian QB-Peyton Manning WR-Reggie Wayne DE-Dwight Freeney DE-Robert Mathis T/G-Tarik Glenn TE-Dallas Clark 'There was no bigger advocate for the Colts, the NFL, the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana than our dad, Jim Irsay,' said Colts Owner and CEO Carlie Irsay-Gordon. 'It's only fitting that he now joins the other amazing Colts legends in our Ring of Honor who contributed so much to our franchise and our community over the past four decades.' Jim was born and raised in the Chicago area, but some of his memories came from his youth working Colts training camps in Baltimore, Maryland, after his father, a Chicago businessman, acquired the Baltimore Colts in 1972. There, Jim started his 54-year affiliation with the Colts and began 'cultivating a lifetime of relationships' with players, coaches and staff. The Pacers are in the NBA Finals. The Fever have Caitlin Clark. In Indy, basketball is booming After graduating in 1982 from Southern Methodist University, where he played football and earned a degree in broadcast journalism, Jim joined the franchise and worked in virtually every department before being named the youngest general manager in NFL history when the Colts arrived in Indianapolis in 1984. In 1987, he helped lead the team to its first division title and playoff appearance during the Indianapolis era. After he assumed sole ownership of the club in 1997, Jim oversaw a 'historic, record-breaking' period of success on the field. The Colts say, overall, Jim, as owner, led them to 10 division titles, two AFC Championships and the club's fourth world championship. From 2007 to 2012, the Colts played in two Super Bowls (XLI, XLIV) and hosted a Super Bowl in a span of just six years. Officials say a pillar of his lasting legacy is the powerful influence Kicking The Stigma has had, is having and will have on improving mental health awareness, research and treatment in Indiana and across the United States. Jasper preps for 27th semi-state appearance

JASPER, Ind. (WEHT) — For the second straight week, the Wildcats look to advance in front of their home crowd. It's something that players say makes a difference. 'It feels great out here whenever you wear Jasper across your chest,' Senior Brayden Giesler said. 'It just means a lot, especially the atmosphere during games.' 'It's just a great feeling to have that many people behind you,' senior Kai Kunz said. 'We have a great community, everybody is into it.' 'It's a great home field advantage out here and we bring a lot of fans,' Giesler said. 'It obviously means a lot to the community that we are still playing so it's nice.' But to keep playing head coach Terry Gobert says it won't come down to flashy plays. 'We preach it every game and it's so simple that it's scary but you only give them three outs or less,' head coach Terry Gobert said. 'I think it helps that we treat every game the same because when you get in this situation it's the same game. you just hopefully get more fans in the stands at each level.' Fans will pack into the stands on Saturday for Jasper's 1 p.m. clash with Greensburg. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
