Actor Ajay Devgn and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh released a new track from the former's upcoming thriller Raid 2, 'Money Money', amid much fanfare on Tuesday evening. However, this wasn't the first time the duo collaborated. Singh also crooned the popular 'Aata Majhi Satakli' song from another Ajay-led sequel, Singham Returns, in 2014.
At the song launch of 'Money Money', Singh recalled how he got merely 24 hours to compose and record 'Aata Majhi Satakli'. Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series, approached him at the last minute for the promotional song. Singh also featured in the music video alongside the film's lead pair, Ajay and Kareena Kapoor.
When the singer turned up four hours late for the shoot, he feared he'd get an earful from Ajay. ' Mujhe laga uss din mujhe maar padne waali hai! (I thought I'll get a beating today). But Ajay Devgn sir met me very warmly. I became an even bigger fan than him. I am a fan of not just Ajay Devgn the actor but also Ajay Devgn the human being,' he said.
Singh added that Bhushan approached him in the eleventh hour for 'Money Money' as well. However, luckily, he got a little above 24 hours to compose and record the song. 'On the sets of Raid 2, I came on time (laughs)! Maine apni kaafi galtiyan sudhari hai (I have tried to correct many of my mistakes). I have learned a lot from them (Ajay), especially if you want to have a long run in the industry,' said Singh.
The music video features Singh alongside Ajay and Jacqueline Fernandez. Raid 2 also features a dance number ' Nasha ' featuring Tamannaah Bhatia. Helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 also stars Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, and Amit Sial among others. It's a sequel to the hit thriller Raid, which was released in 2018 and also starred Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D'Cruz. It was inspired by a real-life raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department in the 1980s. Ileana played Ajay's wife in the movie. Raid 2 is set to hit theatres on May 1.

Meanwhile, 'Aata Majhi Satakli', the song from Singham Returns, was an extension of Ajay's popular dialogue from the first film, Singham, in 2011. While the first film starred Kajal Aggarwal opposite Ajay, the sequel introduced Kareena Kapoor as Ajay's wife. A threequel, Singham Again, released 10 years after the sequel last year. It also featured Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, and Tiger Shroff. The Singham franchise has been helmed by Rohit Shetty.

You don't know how lucky you are; you can become Nysa's friend. You will eventually become a grandmother. You are a mother. You have been my wife. You have managed all of these roles nicely and naturally. You didn't have to make an effort. Today, as a man, I have to make an effort to be all of these things." She added, 'As women, we are taught that from the time we are children. We are so adaptable." Ajay Devgn Called Kajol ‘Lucky' To Juggle Roles Without Any Effort: ‘As A Man, I Have To Make Effort'

Last Updated: Kajol spoke about teaming up with Ajay Devgn professionally for Maa. She described him as an extremely involved producer, particularly in aspects like the script, music, and VFX. Kajol is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming horror film Maa, which is backed by her husband Ajay Devgn's banner. Directed by Vishal Furia, the film is set to hit theatres on June 27. Ahead of its release, Kajol has been promoting the film actively and sharing insights about her personal and professional life. In a recent interaction with Bollywood Hungama, Kajol recalled a conversation with Ajay where he called her 'lucky" for being able to juggle multiple roles so naturally. 'My husband Ajay ji once told me that you are so lucky. You don't know how lucky you are; you can become Nysa's friend. You will eventually become a grandmother. You are a mother. You have been my wife. You have managed all of these roles nicely and naturally. You didn't have to make an effort. Today, as a man, I have to make an effort to be all of these things," Kajol said. She described him as an extremely involved producer, particularly in aspects like the script, music, and VFX. 'He (Ajay) is a very hands-on producer. From script to music and VFX, he has given a lot of attention to every part of this film. I think VFX is a huge part of the film. And, as they say, shooting VFX is a different game… so he has given a lot of detail," Kajol said. Talking about the film itself, she said, 'I am very excited. My film is releasing in theatres after a long time and I am extremely happy about it. I had never thought I would do a horror film, but here we are. The script is quite good, and I'm a big mythological buff. So this became one of my favourite stories." Maa also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Surjyasikha Das, and is produced by Devgn Films and Jio Studios. First Published: June 11, 2025, 22:26 IST

Baba Sehgal was told by underworld to ‘stop making music' because he was doing well outside Bollywood: ‘They were insecure'

You can love him, hate him or simply not understand him, but singer Baba Sehgal has continued being a constant source of entertainment for almost three decades. From quirky Instagram posts to working with Mani Ratnam and A R Rahman, Sehgal can't be forgotten. But back in the day, there was a time when the singer had to leave the country for his and his family's safety. He recently talked about his brief stint abroad and shared how he had to move because of the underworld. In a chat with Siddharth Kannan, Baba was asked why he moved out of the country in the late 1990s. Sehgal shared that like many in Bollywood in those days, he was also getting calls from the underworld gangsters. 'I didn't really think that people would be after me, but I too got a call, and during that time the underworld's influence was very strong. Everyone was getting a call and being given instructions, and then eventually, I too received a call, and they told me to stop making music,' said Sehgal. During that time, T-Series head Gulshan Kumar was assassinated in broad daylight by underworld gangsters in Mumbai. Film director Rakesh Roshan was also shot but he survived the attack. ALSO READ: Emiway Bantai's prophet gave him a superstition to protect against evil eye: 'Nothing can touch them, except death' He added that it was an 'extremely confusing' time and claimed that the reason why people in power wanted him to stop was because he was achieving success outside of Bollywood. 'Maybe I got a call because I was doing an extremely good job in the non-Bollywood sphere, which made people feel insecure. It was a very scary time; people were being murdered and extorted, and at that point I got an opportunity to go and work in Singapore, and I took it.' He shared that he was in Singapore on a work visa and was recording songs for a company that was also working with AR Rahman. After his time in Singapore, Sehgal moved to New York, where he learnt sound engineering and sharpened his skills as a DJ. He later returned to India to pursue Bollywood projects and continued to work on his solo projects as well.
