Rani Mukerji is set to reunite with Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand's action thriller King, where she'll play Suhana Khan's mother in a powerful extended cameo.
After the roaring success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand are reuniting for yet another adrenaline-charged spectacle—King. Backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film not only marks SRK's return as a gritty assassin but also launches his daughter, Suhana Khan, on the big screen. And now, adding more firepower to this already explosive ensemble is none other than Rani Mukerji.
Sources close to the project reveal that Rani Mukerji will be seen in a pivotal extended cameo in King, reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan on screen after over a decade. Their iconic chemistry in films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna has left an indelible mark on Hindi cinema—and King promises to revive that nostalgia in a new avatar.
'Rani will be playing Suhana Khan's mother in the film, and her role is instrumental to the emotional arc of the story," a source told PinkVilla. 'It's a powerful cameo that serves as the emotional catalyst for the action-thriller."
While Rani's appearance will span only about five shoot days, her character's impact will be significant. 'It was a no-brainer. Once she heard the part, Rani was instantly on board. The depth her character brings is crucial to the storyline," the source added.
With this latest addition, King now boasts a formidable cast featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan (who plays SRK's nemesis), Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Verma, and Suhana Khan.
The film is set to begin its first schedule in Mumbai starting May 20, followed by a major international shoot in Europe. King is eyeing a theatrical release in the October–December 2026 window and is poised to be one of the biggest cinematic events of the year.
Fans can expect Shah Rukh Khan in a never-before-seen avatar—gritty, raw, and emotionally charged, as he squares off against Abhishek Bachchan in a game of shadows, bullets, and buried pasts.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu REMOVES 'Ye Maaya Chesave' Tattoo 4 Years After Naga Chaitanya Divorce?

Last Updated: Samantha Ruth Prabhu's YMC tattoo, inked in memory of her film with ex Naga Chaitanya, vanishes in a new video, sparking removal speculation. Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's love story began in 2010 with their debut film Ye Maaya Chesave (YMC). Over the next several years, the couple became one of the most adored celebrity pairs in the South Indian film industry. In 2017, they tied the knot in a grand yet intimate affair with both Hindu and Christian ceremonies. However, the fairy-tale romance came to an end in 2021 when the couple announced their separation after nearly four years of marriage. During their relationship, Samantha had inked three tattoos in tribute to Chaitanya and their journey together. One of the most prominent among them was the 'YMC" tattoo on her upper back, an homage to the film where their love began. Now, four years after their divorce, fans are speculating that the actress has had the tattoo removed. In a new Instagram video shared by Samantha, she's seen wearing a burgundy dress with a deep-cut back while writing 'Nothing to Hide" on a glass screen. But notably, the YMC tattoo is no longer visible on her back, which has led fans to wonder if she has decided to remove it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Samantha (@samantharuthprabhuoffl) A wave of speculation followed the video's release. 'Samantha got her YMC tattoo removed," one user commented. Another added, 'It's covered by foundation for the ad." A third said, 'For a moment I thought it was about something else." While Naga Chaitanya is now married to actress Sobhita Dhulipala, Samantha has been linked to filmmaker Raj Nidimoru of Raj & DK fame. Recent reports even suggested that Samantha and Raj might be considering moving in together. A Pinkvilla source stated, 'They are scouting for properties… Raj officially divorced Shhyamali in 2022 and found love in Samantha during Citadel." The source also clarified that contrary to some media claims, Raj does not have a daughter; the child he was seen with was actually his creative partner Krishna D.K.'s daughter. As for the relationship rumours, Samantha's team told Hindustan Times that reports about her moving in with Raj are false. Neither Samantha nor Raj has officially addressed the dating speculation.
