Bobby Brown Reflects On Coping With Grief After Deaths Of Bobbi Kristina, Bobby Brown Jr.

Yahoo20-05-2025

Bobby Brown is opening up about his ongoing journey through grief following the heartbreaking losses of two of his children, Bobbi Kristina Brown and Bobby Brown Jr.
During a candid appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the R&B icon reflected on how he continues to cope with the pain and find healing.
'Lots of prayer, first and foremost, that absolutely took me to the point where I accepted therapy in my life,' Brown told Hudson. 'I accepted going to a therapist and really working out all of the issues that I had within me.'
In addition to therapy, Brown shared that leaning on loved ones has been essential. He emphasized the importance of relying on family members for emotional support when he 'wasn't feeling right and when times get hard.'
Brown also spoke about continuing to feel the presence of his children and the emotional balance required not to be overwhelmed by sorrow.
'They're still there because it doesn't stop. It's not like it just goes away,' he continued. 'It's gonna be with you forever, but it's about dealing with it and really paying attention to yourself. Paying attention to how you're feeling that day and letting somebody know how you're feeling that day. You know, not keeping it inside.'
Bobbi Kristina Brown, his daughter with the late Whitney Houston, passed away in 2015 at the age of 22 after being found unresponsive in a bathtub, a tragic parallel to her mother's death.
In 2020, Bobby Brown Jr., his son from a previous relationship, died from an accidental overdose involving alcohol, cocaine, and fentanyl. He was 28.

Nicki Minaj Name-Drops JAY-Z And Shannon Sharpe On 'Banned From NO' Lil Wayne Collab

Nicki Minaj just reminded everyone why she remains one of Hip-Hop's most revered and relentless lyricists. On Tuesday (June 11), the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap reunited with her mentor Lil Wayne for a fiery — and downright candid — remix of 'Banned From NO.' And let's just say, Nicki didn't come to play. The surprise drop landed less than a week after Wayne's Tha Carter VI hit streaming platforms on June 6, a release many fans thought would include a Nicki feature. While she was absent from the album's musical assistance, the remix made up for it. With the kind of lyrical prowess only Nicki can deliver, the track wasted no time trending on social media — fueled by her wordplay and the direct shots fired. Among the targets in her lyrical line of fire were Shannon Sharpe, the NFL, and even JAY-Z. She quipped, 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe,' a jab that immediately sparked conversation. On X, she doubled down, explaining the line with a dose of humor and a not-so-subtle reminder of a February 2024 moment when Sharpe appeared to slight her. 'Yeah ni**a you thought I forgot that 'Nicki who' sh*t you did? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k,' she wrote, proving that she forgets nothing. Before wrapping her verse, Nicki also took aim at the NFL and JAY-Z for what seemingly stemmed from the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. 'NFL, fire some ni**as and then call us!' she rapped, making it crystal clear that snubbing Lil Wayne in his own hometown was not something she could look past. This remix also marks the first time Nicki and Wayne have teamed up since her 2023 album Pink Friday 2 with 'RNB.' She promoted the track on Instagram with throwback Young Money pics and a caption saluting Wayne as 'the GOAT,' reminding fans of the bond they have that helped shape both of their careers. As for Wayne, his recent Tha Carter VI drop includes 19 tracks and a roster of unexpected features like Bono, Jelly Roll, his son Kameron Carter, Andrea Bocelli, MGK and others. Kim Kardashian Speaks Out Against ICE Raids: 'Our Communities Thrive Because Of The Contributions Of Immigrants'

Los Angeles and the country at large have been in a heightened state of panic ever since President Donald Trump deployed ICE and military troops on the West Coast to raid the community and arrest immigrants. Kim Kardashian recently spoke out in defense of immigrants and their well-being. 'When we're told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals-great,' she wrote on her Instagram story on Tuesday evening (June 10). 'But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what's right.' The 44-year-old entrepreneur reflected on her experiences growing up in Los Angeles and how people who move there from elsewhere are so vital to the community. 'They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family,' she added. 'No matter when you fall politically, it's clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants. We can't just turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.' Read the full note below. Kim Kardashian followed her post with a post of Doechii's speech at the 2025 BET Awards. Though she was there to celebrate winning the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist award, she couldn't help but extend her love and support to those being taken away from their families. 'There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order,' the TDE artist said during her acceptance speech. 'Trump is using military forces to stop a protest, and I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our Democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us. What type of government is that?' She also stressed the importance of unity and the right to free speech for all races. 'For Black people, for Latino people, for trans people, for the people in Gaza…We all deserve to live in hope and not in fear,' she said. 'I hope we stand together, my brothers and my sisters, against hate, and we protest against it.' Watch below. More from The Game Expresses Solidarity With Fellow L.A.
