Nicki Minaj Name-Drops JAY-Z And Shannon Sharpe On 'Banned From NO' Lil Wayne Collab
The surprise drop landed less than a week after Wayne's Tha Carter VI hit streaming platforms on June 6, a release many fans thought would include a Nicki feature. While she was absent from the album's musical assistance, the remix made up for it. With the kind of lyrical prowess only Nicki can deliver, the track wasted no time trending on social media — fueled by her wordplay and the direct shots fired.
Among the targets in her lyrical line of fire were Shannon Sharpe, the NFL, and even JAY-Z. She quipped, 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that Sharpe,' a jab that immediately sparked conversation. On X, she doubled down, explaining the line with a dose of humor and a not-so-subtle reminder of a February 2024 moment when Sharpe appeared to slight her.
'Yeah ni**a you thought I forgot that 'Nicki who' sh*t you did? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k,' she wrote, proving that she forgets nothing. Before wrapping her verse, Nicki also took aim at the NFL and JAY-Z for what seemingly stemmed from the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show in New Orleans. 'NFL, fire some ni**as and then call us!' she rapped, making it crystal clear that snubbing Lil Wayne in his own hometown was not something she could look past.
This remix also marks the first time Nicki and Wayne have teamed up since her 2023 album Pink Friday 2 with 'RNB.' She promoted the track on Instagram with throwback Young Money pics and a caption saluting Wayne as 'the GOAT,' reminding fans of the bond they have that helped shape both of their careers.

Finally—this is my favorite part—each piece is capped off with a custom Beyoncé x Levi's leather patch, so everyone knows you got your hands on a piece of history. 'The campaign represents a new level and scale of collaboration that has put women at the center of the narrative, and has set in motion a new, iconic chapter in Levi's history that continues to reaffirm the brand's place at the center of culture,' said Levi's global CMO Kenny Mitchell in the press release. In case you missed it, Beyoncé fronted three other campaign videos throughout the year— Launderette, Pool Hall, and Refrigerator—all of which were inspired by Levi's advertisements from the 1980s and 1990s. The Denim Cowboy is set to an exclusive rendition of 'Levii's Jeans,' a Cowboy Carter track featuring Post Malone. So far, Bey has followed a pattern. She debuted Act I: Renaissance in 2022 and took it on tour in 2023. Act II: Cowboy Carter came out in 2024 and toured in 2025. If this schedule continues, we can expect Act III next year (my fingers are crossed for rock-and-roll) and a subsequent tour in 2027. New Heights, which is hosted by the NFL brother duo of Jason and Travis Kelce, usually teases guests with silhouettes and context clues. This time around, there are a lot of hints as to why the special guest might actually be pop star Taylor Swift. Fans of both the singer and the Kelce podcast have been begging for Travis to bring his 14-time Grammy winning girlfriend on the show, and this might be the closest we've gotten to this maybe coming true. The initial New Heights post on social media naturally got everyone's attention with Jason's Eras Tour shirt, the familiar outline and the breaking news. But the clowning dialed up a notch with Taylor Nation's -- the official Taylor Swift social media account -- post 12 minutes after New Heights' did. While 13 is the number most associated with the The Tortured Poets Department singer, this time 12 is significant because the next album will be her 12th.
