Rio virtually flags off 51 school infrastructures

on Saturday virtually inaugurated 51 school infrastructures funded under Samagra Shiksha.
The virtual inauguration of the 51 school infrastructure included 15 new school buildings, additional classrooms in 17 schools, 18 teachers' quarters and one residential hostel spread across the state.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, held at the chief minister's residential complex in Kohima, Rio said it was a significant step in the ongoing journey to strengthen education infrastructure. He extended his gratitude to the Govt of India for the continued support. He also commended the efforts of the Samagra Shiksha team led by the state mission director L Jamithung Lotha.
Noting that many of the school infrastructures in the state are temporary, Rio underscored the urgent need for permanent structures with quality workmanship.
While appreciating the school education department for its constant improvement despite the challenges, he asked it to conduct a comprehensive study and identify its needs and requirements.

Ashok Ram joins JD(U), calls Cong ‘B-team' of RJD
1 2 Patna: Former Bihar Congress president Ashok Ram on Sunday joined the JD(U) on Sunday, declaring CM Nitish Kumar a "necessity" for the state and branding the Congress as the "B-team" of the RJD. Ram, a six-time MLA and member of the Congress Working Committee, formally joined the JD(U) along with his son Atirek Kumar and supporters. Ram's entry was marked by a show of strength at JD(U)'s state headquarters, attended by ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Shrawan Kumar and senior party leaders. "His grassroots connect will strengthen the JD(U)," said Jha. Kushwaha called him a "seasoned, experienced, and grassroots leader" while Choudhary praised his wide acceptance across communities. Mumbai: MPCC president Harshawardhan Sapkal has convened a two-day workshop of newly appointed MPCC at Khadakwasla, Pune, on Aug 12 and 13. NDA seeks FIR against Tejashwi over dual EPIC row
1 2 Patna: National Democratic Alliance (NDA) functionaries on Sunday demanded legal action against Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav for allegedly possessing two voter ID cards, which they claimed was a violation of electoral law. JD(U) national executive president Sanjay Kumar Jha alleged that Tejashwi holds two voter ID cards, which constitutes a criminal offence. "The way Tejashwi accused the Election Commission (EC) despite his name being in the voter list is sad. He is just doing politics on this matter," said Jha. Addressing a joint press conference in Patna alongside spokespersons of NDA allies JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM(S) and RLM, BJP's Ajay Alok said it was unlawful for one person to hold multiple EPICs. "Tejashwi agreed to it himself. EC should now take action against him," he said.
