1xBat becomes sponsor of Eagle Nashik Titans in MPL 2025: Investing in the growth of regional cricket in India
Eagle Nashik Titans entered the regional cricket scene in 2023 and have played a key role in revitalizing the Maharashtra Premier League. In their debut season, the team reached the state playoffs, and in 2024, they advanced to the final, where they were narrowly defeated by the Ratnagiri Jets.
All MPL matches are held at the MCA International Stadium in Pune, which seats 45,000 spectators. The league's broadcast reach has expanded to 170 million viewers, making the Maharashtra Premier League the largest regional cricket tournament in India after the IPL.
The MPL now serves as a bridge between the Ranji Trophy and the Indian Premier League, offering young talent from Maharashtra a platform to showcase their skills at a higher level. Scouts from India's top teams closely follow MPL matches. The league has already helped launch the careers of Rajneesh Gurbani and Sachin Dhas, and fans can expect even more breakout stars in the upcoming season.
"We are proud to sponsor Eagle Nashik Titans — a rising franchise that shares our ambitions. Over the past two seasons, the team has shown steady progress and impressive results. They're also doing a great job developing young talent — just look at top-scorer Atharva Kale's performance in MPL 2024. The league has become a launchpad for the next generation of stars, many of whom move on to IPL clubs and achieve global recognition. We're excited to support regional cricket and contribute to the broader growth of India's sporting landscape," said a representative of 1xBat.
As part of the partnership between 1xBat Sporting Lines and Eagle Nashik Titans, the brand's logo will appear on the team's jerseys, training kits, official website, and social media. It will also be featured on giant screens and sight screens during MPL 2025 matches, with regular giveaways of team merchandise and tickets to Eagle Nashik Titans games included in the collaboration.
"We're excited to join forces with 1xBat, a respected and well-known platform. Their media and financial support will help us grow stronger and shine a brighter light on our emerging players. This season, we're going all in for the trophy, and wearing the 1xBat logo on our jerseys gives us even more drive to succeed," said a representative of Eagle Nashik Titans.
The MPL 2025 season opener is scheduled for June 4, where the Eagles will face defending champions Ratnagiri Jets. Don't miss the kickoff of one of India's premier regional cricket leagues — and follow all the key action with 1xBat!

Aakash Chopra on KL Rahul's chances of getting selected for Asia Cup 2025 squad: ‘If something is stopping him, it's his own mindset'
KL Rahul in T20 cricket is an enigma despite churning out runs season after season in the IPL. The question of strike rate has always hung around him. Do modern T20 has a place for an anchor like him or not is a different debate; however, Rahul has all the shots to play the modern way, which can integrate him into any side, and with his versatility of batting at any number, he is an asset. However, will he be picked for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, which is to be played in the shorter format? Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra answered on his YouTube channel to a query. 'Very, very interesting one. Your question is absolutely valid because he is a good player. If you see his IPL numbers, they are outstanding. In the recent past, no player has been a 600-run bank like him. However, a reputation has developed that he plays very slow at times,' he responded 'If something is stopping him, it's his own mindset. Sometimes his legs are shackled, and when the mindset is right, he flies with wings. I feel he has the game. I remember a shot, it was the Indore ground, and he hit Jasprit Bumrah for a six over cover, and I was like wow. However, then you also get knocks when you feel that he should hit, but he thinks differently,' he observed. 'He cannot play as an opener because the opening story has ended, unfortunately, for the time being. Sanju Samson is there with Abhishek Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal is behind them, and I am putting Shubman Gill's name also at the fourth spot. Four people are standing in the line,' he said 'Ishan Kishan is saying that he is also there. Everyone wants to open. So there is no place for an opener. You will have to play in the middle order, and there, Jitesh Sharma is one, who has done very well, played an excellent IPL, and made his team win. Sanju Samson is opening at the moment. So a keeper is not required. Dhruv Jurel is also standing behind,' Chopra observed.

Not Jurel! Harsha Bhogle Names 31-Year-Old As Samson's Backup Keeper For Asia Cup
Last Updated: Harsha Bhogle has selected Jitesh Sharma as backup wicketkeeper for Asia Cup, favouring him over Dhruv Jurel because of his impressive IPL performance. Star Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has picked Jitesh Sharma as the backup wicketkeeper to Sanju Samson for the upcoming Asia Cup, with no place for Dhruv Jurel in the 15-member squad for the tournament, which is all set to begin next month and is expected to rack the selectors' minds. Jitesh has impressed as a finisher in IPL 2025, highlighted by his unbeaten 85 against the Lucknow Super Giants, while Jurel has shown his versatility in recent limited-overs matches. Jitesh's international record for India is underwhelming, averaging a dismal 14.28 in nine T20Is with 100 runs and a top score of 35. 'You have Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, then Shreyas Iyer and then if you want someone to keep wickets, it is one of those rare sights when none of the other batters are keeping wickets, then you can play Jitesh Sharma down the order," Bhogle said while speaking on his YouTube channel. 'In case you want flexibility at the top, then you use Jitesh, who has had a fabulous IPL and whose reinvention of himself as the T20 finisher has been extraordinary. He gives you the other wicketkeeping option down the order, Sanju is the option at the top of the order," Bhogle said. None of India's Test skipper Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal made the commentator's 15-man T20I squad for the Asia Cup. He picked Abhishek, captain Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Iyer as the four batters. 'Gill is coming off a fantastic Test series and there is a World Test Championship to be won as much as the Asia Cup. He goes for the latter and he has got five days to come back and get ready for the Test series against the Windies," Bhogle said. 'Gill remains captain of the Indian Test side and doesn't let his now near-pristine technique suddenly get affected by white-ball and then come back to red ball. One needs to look at Gill with the T20 World Cup round the corner but there is a little bit of time for that," Bhogle added. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Poll Should KL Rahul change his batting approach to secure a spot in the T20I setup? Yes, he needs to be more aggressive No, his current style works for him Chopra praised Rahul's ability to dominate world-class bowling when in full flow, recalling a special strike against Jasprit Bumrah in Indore.
