KO Bonus Installed For Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford Fight
Talk about dangling a carrot for the Canelo Alvarez-Terence Crawford megafight. Turki Alalshikh, the deep-pocketed chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, announced that he'll give a bonus for a knockout when Alvarez puts his undisputed super middleweight championship on the line against Crawford on Sept. 13 in Las Vegas, live on Netflix.
Alalshikh revealed the KO bonus during Friday's kickoff press conference in Saudi Arabia. Alalshikh lambasted "Tom & Jerry fights" where one fighter is "running around the ring and another fighter is chasing him." Hence the bonus that will be installed for Canelo-Crawford and other upcoming fights he promotes.

"We will not have [Tom & Jerry fights] anymore," Alalshikh said. "We will have in this fight and our next fights a bonus for a KO."
Alalshikh did not disclose the dollar amount of the bonus, which is similar to performance bonuses that his promoting partner, UFC CEO Dana White, has implemented in his fight organization.
Meanwhile, both Canelo and Crawford said they'll be fighting, not running. Here's a look at the staredown:
"However I got to fight, I'm going to win," said Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs), who has knocked out 11 of his past 12 opponents. 'I'm not going to let someone else tell me how to fight when I've been doing that my whole life. I won't be running. I can tell you that. But I will be doing a lot of touching.'
Alvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) said Crawford is "great fighter but he's not Canelo" and cited his experience as his key to victory. "He's not going to beat me," Alvarez said. "Don't worry about it... I'm a winner."
Crawford will be jumping two weight classes, from 154 to 168 pounds and believes he'll make history by winning all four major world title belts in a record third weight division. "For sure those belts are coming home with me," Crawford said. 'I'm taking them and ain't nothing you can do about it come fight night.'
And if the bonus weren't enough. The winner will take home a new belt that cost $188,000 to produce. Take a look:

Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev prediction, pick, start time for UFC on ABC 8
Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev meet Saturday on the main card of UFC on ABC 8 at Baku Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 5-1 Advertisement UFC main cards, 2025: 57-44-1 Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku preview Blaydes (18-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) aims to rebound from an interim title challenge loss against Tom Aspinall last July. In the fight prior, "Razor" stopped Jailton Almeida in the second round with ground and pound, earning his fourth career Performance of the Night bonus. Throughout his entire career, Blaydes has never lost back-to-back fights. ... Kuniev (13-2-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut against one of the toughest tests in the division. After a first-round finish in his second appearance on Dana White's Contender Series in August, Kuniev gets an opportunity to prove himself under the UFC's bright lights. Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku expert pick, prediction Filling out the main card is a fight that the UFC has been trying to put together for some time now between Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev. Advertisement Despite Kuniev being brand new to the division, he's being matched up with one of the top-ranked perennial contenders in Blaydes. Kuniev's best win is an overturned no-contest to Renan Ferreira, where the Sanda fighter showed some grappling chops from both positive and negative positions. That said, Kuniev will likely have a harder time getting that kind of game going against a fighter who can both match him in size and wrestling. Blaydes has seemingly abandoned his wrestling faster than Daniel Plainview abandoned his son in recent years, but that doesn't change the fact that he's one of a literal handful of heavyweights who can actually wrestle, which counts for a lot. I'm not picking this fight as confidently as I should be, but the pick is for Blaydes to stay safe and secure a win by unanimous decision. Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the American, listing Blaydes -260 and Kuniev +205 via FanDuel. Curtis Blaydes vs. Rizvan Kuniev UFC Baku start time, how to watch Blaydes and Kuniev are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 4:35 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts on ABC, ESPN and ESPN+. Ilia Topuria Confirms Interest In Becoming First UFC Triple Champion
Ilia Topuria Confirms Interest In Becoming First UFC Triple Champion originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria will chase history as he squares off against Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title in the main event of UFC 317, taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 28. The Spaniard is on a generational run in the promotion, vying to add his name to the list of UFC champions who have won belts in multiple divisions. Advertisement The undefeated Topuria, who vacated his 145-pound title to chase lightweight gold, has now set his sights on an even grander prize. Ilia Topuria holds the UFC Featherweight Championship during a press conference.(via Zuffa LLC) During a pre-fight press conference ahead of his UFC 317 clash with Oliveira, Topuria declared he would be interested in a potential welterweight title shot against Islam Makhachev. Topuria told media members in attendance, 'If Islam becomes the welterweight world champion, for sure I'm going to push for that shot also.' While he has teased a potential run at welterweight in the past, this time he has verbally confirmed he wants to challenge for a championship belt in a third division, a feat that has never been accomplished in UFC history. Advertisement At the top of his mind, the main goal is to secure that coveted fight against Makhachev that has alluded him for so long. Topuria has previously accused Makhachev of avoiding a potential lightweight bout, branding him a coward and claiming that the Dagestani fighter is running from the challenge. 'If he wins the title, and I win the title in the lightweight division, maybe I move up or he comes down to the lightweight division and we have the fight that everyone wants to see,' Topuria clarified further. Topuria also expressed his frustration at the fact that he is not currently lined up with Makhachev, and must face Oliveira instead, saying, 'To be honest, I wanted to face [Makhachev] because he was the guy who was dominating everyone in that weight division. But at the end of the day, I can't control what they do.' Despite his words about Makhachev, Topuria notes that he must remained focused on his upcoming fight with Oliveira. Advertisement 'Every fight is a huge challenge,' Topuria said regarding the difficulty of fighting Oliveira compared to Makhachev. 'There are no easy fights when you get on this level.' How Real Madrid were held by Al-Hilal as Bounou saved late Valverde penalty in Club World Cup 2025 match
Real Madrid have settled for a draw in their opening match of the Club World Cup against Saudi side Al-Hilal Getty Images 29 Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal No surprise that the Saudi side look unbothered by the heat in Miami. Real Madrid look fit but uncomfortable in the midday sun at Hard Rock Stadium. 28' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Another opportunity for Al-Hilal and another one that Courtois is only too happy to watch drift wide of his post. It was another dangerous corner delivery, this time from Neves, and Hassan Al Tambakti rose highest to meet it. He was always going to struggle to trouble Courtois with the ball moving away from goal, though. The contact was decent, but it landed a yard or two wide of the target. Getty Images 26' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal All of Real Madrid's upcoming opponents are taking notes today. Alexander-Arnold and Rodrygo will be targeted often if Alonso keeps that right-side pairing intact this season. 25' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal This will not have made pleasant viewing for Xabi Alonso so far. His side have been outplayed for almost the entirety of the opening 25 minutes here and should probably be behind. The chances keep coming for Al-Hilal but, fortunately for Real Madrid, the quality of finishing has been pretty poor so far. The right-hand duo of Alexander-Arnold and Rodrygo looks particularly weak when the Spaniards are out of possession. Getty Images 23' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal A referee correctly booking a player for diving always makes me clap the television. It's such a strange habit… …but that really was good refereeing. Spotting that at full speed, in real time, and calling that Vini Jr incident perfectly. Had he not and had it resulted in a DOGSO red card, it would have been very difficult to overturn, too. Getty Images 21' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal The officials got that one correct too, the pass was just too late and Renan Lodi had run offside. The ex-Atletico Madrid left-back is a flier, and had got well in behind Alexander-Arnold, who was struggling to get catch him running back. 20' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Al-Hilal think they have made the breakthrough! But the assistant referee's flag immediately denies him. It was a really nice finish from the marauding Renan Lodi inside the penalty area, but he had gone far too early before being picked out in the advanced position. You could sense that he knew he was offside as soon as he finished into Courtois' bottom corner and his fears were soon realised. Getty Images 18' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Real Madrid have been very critical of Spanish referees, and RMTV pundits have pointed out that no La Liga officials made the cut for this CWC. Their views on Argentine ref Facundo Tello are likely not great at the moment — but that was an excellent spot for the Vinicius Jr yellow. 17' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Argentine referee Facundo Tello not fooled by Vini Jr's blatant dive. Tello refereed a recent CONMEBOL World Cup qualifier between Brazil and Paraguay and booked the Brazilian in that match, as well. 16' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Vinicius Jr is such a good footballer, but his tendency to dive often lets him down. The Real Madrid winger had the chance to race through on goal but, as Kalidou Koulibaly made a desperate attempt to make a sliding intervention, he threw himself to the ground in typically dramatic fashion. An immediate decision made by the referee to show Vinicius Jr the yellow card for simulation. Getty Images 14' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal How many times have we seen Trent Alexander-Arnold nail a cross-field pass to his left winger in the last few years? Think Sadio Mane or Luis Diaz at Liverpool. This time, though, with Vinicius Jr waiting for the ball, the England right-back got his radar wrong and sent it a yard or two over the head of the Brazilian. The right idea from Alexander-Arnold, but wrong execution. 10' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Real Madrid are really struggling to cope with Al-Hilal in these opening stages. The latest chance was the Saudi Arabians' best of the game and should have brought the opening goal. Salem Al-Dawsari miscued a volley into the path of Marcus Leonardo just in front of the penalty spot. He managed to get decent contact on the ball, despite pressure from the Madrid defence, but could only prod his effort wide of the far post. Getty Images 6' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Madrid pressing right up the pitch for the Al-Hilal kick-out — but they played right through and Courtois was forced into making a decent save from Milinkovic-Savic. There's the first sign of the work Alonso will need to do to get the team organised into the shape and tactical approach he wants. 5' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal Al-Hilal very clearly want to make a statement in this game and they have come flying out of the blocks. The resulting Milinkovic-Savic free kick was really disappointing, hitting the wall halfway up. The ball then dropped for Ruben Neves, no stranger to the spectacular, but his effort was high and not so handsome. 3' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal An early chance for Al-Hilal after some nice interplay on the right-hand side. The space opened up for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to let fly on his left foot and it was a good strike, but Thibaut Courtois was able to easily parry. Real Madrid were unable to clear the danger fully, though, and Al-Hilal have a free kick in a very dangerous position on the edge of the penalty area... Getty Images 1' Real Madrid 0-0 Al-Hilal A few minutes later than planned, the ball is rolling at Hard Rock Stadium for the third time in this tournament. Al-Hilal got us started, and they will be desperate to cause a shock here. Arsene Wenger takes his seat. No trouble taking off his blazer in 92 degree heat. Getty Images Fans in Barca shirts have been shown on the big screen. They were booed. Joao Cancelo, ex-Barcelona, also booed as he walked out in the one-by-ones. This is taking ages — you feel for the first player out. Here we go then! This stood out as one of the big group-stage matches when the draw was made, given the eye-watering investment into this Al-Hilal team. As you will have seen by now, each player is being introduced on their own, starting with Jude Bellingham. The Real Madrid players, like everyone before them, look particularly sheepish making the long walk onto the Hard Rock Stadium pitch.
