Bachelor star gets her happily ever after as she announces engagement after failing to find love with Sam Wood

Daily Maila day ago
Nina Rolleston has found love after striking out with Sam Wood on The Bachelor back in 2015.
The former reality star shared the good news of her engagement in an Instagram post this week.
Posing alongside her partner in photos taken in Fiji, Nina did not reveal her fiancé's name.
Nina had kept her budding romance under wraps before revealing her engagement.
She added the caption 'hard launch' alongside the festive images, in which she showed off her diamond engagement ring.

The happy couple cuddled up and shared kisses in the series of images which were taken against the gorgeous Fijian backdrop.
After appearing on The Bachelor, Nina went on to also star on a season of Bachelor in Paradise in 2018.
She has since left the limelight and now works for SILK Laser Clinics.
It comes after Nina exposed the truth behind life in the famous Hunter's Hill mansion.
In a tell-all interview, she claimed that the 25 women were forced to live in 'asylum-style' accommodation and shared just one washing machine between them.
Speaking on the Confessions of a Twenty Something Train Wreck podcast, Nina added that filming took place 'five days a week' and rose ceremonies would often last until 3am.
'We filmed five days per week with a two-day break, which wasn't always a Saturday or Sunday but it was always two consecutive days,' Nina said.
She also revealed that the limited laundry facilities put a strain on the girls, who were often struggling to find clean clothes to wear.
'We had to do our own laundry and stuff like that. We only had one washing machine between 20-odd women. It's a lot of laundry,' she said.
Nina explained that the frequent 'outfit changes' demanded by producers turned the laundry problem into a full-blown nightmare.
She also spoke about the living arrangements during The Bachelor's third season.
'So if you think of, like, school camp crossed with a psychiatric asylum, that's what it feels like!' she laughed.
Nina added: 'In my season, in the Hunter's Hill mansion, we had three bedrooms between 25 women. In my room, we had five girls: two bunk beds and a single bed.'
She claimed that one of the other bedrooms actually housed '10 people'.
Elsewhere in the interview, Nina addressed the insufficient number of bathrooms in the mansion, saying: 'Then we had four bathrooms between 25 girls.'
She also explained why the female contestants would often look 'bleary eyed' and 'tired' during the rose ceremonies.
'People always say we look really tired in rose ceremonies. You have to understand that we've done a cocktail party and you have to wait for the sun to go down [for that]. You've never seen a cocktail party during daylight,' she said.
'We're in Sydney with daylight savings, so the sun doesn't go down completely until 9pm and we're sitting around literally waiting for the sun to go down.
'Then we have to do a cocktail party, where the Bachelor [Sam Wood] has to go around and speak to everybody. Then all the drama...'
Nina estimated that the rose ceremony wouldn't usually begin until after midnight, after all the cocktail party footage had been captured.
'By the time we actually get to a rose ceremony. It's probably between 1am to 3am,' she explained.
'We've been in these outfits all day. So if you were the first person to go through to hair and makeup at 10am, you've actually had that on for all day, all night!
'Then you have those shoes and your feet are killing you. So you would be standing there on those stairs after you've just been filming, say, five or six hours at a cocktail party and then you're standing there.'
Nina claimed that some departments would often halt filming if the shooting conditions weren't perfect.
She said: 'You have to take into consideration, if one candle blows out, you've got the art department saying, "Stop! We have to re-light that candle". If a plane flies over, you've got the sound guys saying, "Stop!"
'If one of the girls' hair is out of place, or The Bachelor's tie is out of place, then wardrobe say, "Stop!" So everything takes so long.'

Rio Ferdinand confesses he considered dumping wife Kate over his grieving kids' reaction to his union following their mother's tragic death

Rio Ferdinand has shed light on the early stages of his relationship with now-wife Kate and admitted his kids' reaction decided the future of their union. Appearing on the former TOWIE star's podcast Blended, the former footballer, 46, shed light on how he dealt with introducing a new romance after losing his beloved wife Rebecca, and being left a single father to Lorenz, 18, Tate, 16, and Tia, 13. Rebecca died aged just 34 after a short battle with breast cancer. She appeared to be in the clear only for a scan to reveal the disease had spread to her bones five weeks before her death, prior to which she planned her own funeral. Amid his grief, Rio met Kate, who he began dating in 2017, however he revealed her introduction to his family was slow moving. The couple wed in Turkey in September 2019 and share two children; Cree, four, and Shae, who turns two later this month. Discussing introducing his relationship to his children, Rio told his wife: 'It's hard, you don't really get over it if you do it wrong, if it's done abruptly without conversations and done the wrong way. 'But if people are saying no, the kids are saying no I don't know, man. I'm just lucky, fortunately we didn't get to that point... 'But if my kids have said no, we're probably not here right now. Because we don't get the chance to get to where we are, where we're like madly in love... 'Because as soon as the kids say no - we were in love at that time, but it was still early enough to think where you go, but on both sides, you go, 'The kids ain't accepting me, I can't get into this. It's too much stress.' 'And I'm going, 'The kids ain't happy. They're going to have to be number one.' And I think there's a lot of relationships that would end up because of that... 'I don't know how you push on after you've just found someone, you fell in love with them, you two together, and the kids aren't involved in that... 'And then when they get involved and not happy, I don't know how you still move forward together like that unless you separate it.' On navigating the introduction stages, he said: ''I do think it's important in the way that you introduce this new person into the house. We very much were on the basis, we talked a lot before we even broached the idea with the kids... 'We brought Kate in as a friend first, they started seeing her around at different things that we go into friends' houses, et cetera. Kate will be there. And Ronnie, the dog, which is a great softener as well... 'But those moments of familiarity and, 'Oh, it's only Kate,' soften that next move where you go, 'Right, guys,' and you bring that. I just think we were really much about bringing them into the conversation, make them feel, have some ownership over the whole situation... ''Listen, guys, you remember Kate?' Let's see where we go then, Dad.' I think if you do it wrong, I've been in a situation, my own family recently, where it's done wrong. And I've been part of the ramifications of that and the repercussions'. Rio married Rebecca in 2009, after meeting at the age of 21. He popped the question during a trip to Las Vegas in 2007, a year after Lorenz's birth, before marrying in an idyllic ceremony in Peter Island. Following her tragic death, he released a statement reading: 'My soul mate slipped away last night. Rebecca, my wonderful wife, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. 'She was a fantastic loving mother to our three beautiful children. She will be missed as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She will live on in our memory, as a guide and inspiration. 'Myself, my parents Janice and Julian, along with Rebecca's parents Lesley and Stephen, would like to thank our families, friends and my club colleagues who have rallied around in these desperate days, weeks and months.' On Blended, Rio went on to discuss grief and guilt, saying: 'I think it's very natural to feel guilty. I don't think I ever went, really went out anywhere... 'I swear, even just going to work, there's massive guilt. Just going to work, you're thinking, I can't leave these three babies. I can't leave them... 'The fact they're going to school is definitely a 100% bonus, because you can do stuff in between there and really not feel that guilty. But then it was more like when they come home, and I really tried to make a conscious effort of being there, but then sometimes work did actually make me have to be out of the house... 'And it's like, it's a really big tug of war with yourself. But I think you have to be kind of, you have to take care of yourself. You have to... the kids are more, everyone's always said this, the kids are more resilient than you actually think... 'If you just put them in cotton wool and just really make them always feel secure and always just trying to make the perfect scenario for them, that's not good for them in the long run... 'So you being out of the house and not being there at moments, and they are questioning it, but they know you're coming back, it actually is good for them, I think, in time... 'But in the moment, I think it's hard to believe that and to really go like, okay, that's the situation, because your instincts are to feel guilty, do you know what I mean?... 'But going out on dates, I think are even good for you when you're in this position, in this transition, because whether it's the right person or not, it's a bit of you time, and your head space is not about being a dad and being protective and trying to cotton wool those next steps for the kids and make everything perfect. 'You're just actually, you're kind of coming away from that and actually the relief, I swear to you that the... 'I don't know, I used to feel so much like going out with my mates, or if you did go on a date, it's like... because your head's really heavy, man. It's really heavy. 'You're worrying a lot. It's just pure worry all the time, constantly worrying, worrying, worrying, seeing your kids look out of a window and thinking, what the hell are they thinking? And it just breaks you.'

Now based in Sydney, Hannah's credits include the Aussie-Indonesian hit Bali 2002. But, her new gig on Home and Away marks a proper return to the soap scene. This year, the iconic Aussie soap celebrated a whopping 35 years on air, with special reruns on a dedicated channel to mark the milestone. 'She loved dipping her toes back into the world of soap briefly and who knows it could mean she finds her way back more permanently.' Forgotten soap storylines The nation's soaps have had many gripping storylines play out over the years. However, some plots proved to be far less memorable. Here are some forgotten stories from Weatherfield, Walford and more... Coronation Street Ken and Audrey's romance (2015): After the death of wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride), Coronation Street original Ken Barlow (William Roache) started to move on in his life. He started to develop a spark with old friend Audrey (Sue Nicholls), with then-Corrie boss saying it would be like "Ross and Rachel". In the end, nothing ever came of it and the two remained platonic pals. Beth's bigamy (2016): Despite being happily married to Kirk (Andrew Whyment), a troubling secret came to light about Beth Tinker (Lisa George). It transpired that she had never divorced from her first husband, Darryl (Paul Loughran), father of her son Craig (Colson Smith). Although Craig and Kirk were shocked - and Beth was arrested - the storyline didn't didn't go much further. EastEnders Kat Slater's secret son (2017): Capitalising on the popularity of Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie (Shane Richie), the two received a spin-off back in 2017. Titled 'Redwater', it saw the two travel to Ireland where they met long-lost son Luke, now called Dermott Dolan, played by Oisín Stack. Despite the high-tension events during Redwater, Kat seems to have put the experience behind her as Dermott's not been mentioned since. Alfie's brain tumour (2015): Having learned in 2015 that he had a brain tumour, Alfie kept the news from Kat until their trip to Ireland. At the time, actor Shane Ritchie revealed fans would see a change in Alfie as he battled the illness. It would appear that at some point after leaving the Square, was told the tumour was non-malignant. By the time Alfie returned in 2022, fans were left confused over what had happened to the storyline. Kathy and Buster's affair (2016): In 2016, Walford legend Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) fell into the arms of convict Buster Briggs, played by Karl Howman. Buster was the long-time lover of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) and fathered both her sons - Mick (Danny Dyer) and Dean (Matt Di Angelo). When Buster left, he begged Kathy to join him, but she refused for the sake of her family. Meanwhile Buster didn't even stop to say goodbye to Shirley before exiting with a broken heart. Fans expected a showdown between the two women, but this never came to pass. Emmerdale Jacob's OCD (2016): After his dad, David (Matthew Wolfenden), was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016, Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) developed Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This manifested in the form of cleaning. Jacob's OCD made a brief return one year on, after David had another scare after finding a lump. Jacob frantically searched the bins for a 'lucky coin' that had accidentally been thrown away. Despite stressful situations - such as being groomed by his teacher Maya, losing his fiancee Leanna to a serial killer, dealing with mum Leyla's drug addiction, and surviving a stabbing - the condition doesn't appear to have returned. Marlon and Charity's fling (2003): Few fans would likely remember few will remember the one-night stand between Charity (Emma Atkins) and Marlon (Mark Charnock) in 2003. The pair slept together when Charity was staying with Marlon while still under suspicion for husband Chris's supposed "murder". Hollyoaks Alex Browning's revenge plot (2014): Fans expected a confrontation when Dr Browning's son Alex (Ojan Genc) mer stepmum Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe). After all, Mercedes, with Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin) had murdered Alex's dad, double-murderer Dr Paul Browning, after he kidnapped and attacked his new wife. In fact, the soap teased Alex would seek revenge for his father's death upon arriving. However, he instead gave Cindy's son Hilton (his half-brother) a life-saving transplant, became his godfather, and leaving the village soon after. The new role comes three years after Hannah tied the knot to former The Bill star husband Huw Higginson. Huw is most notable for his ten-year role in The Bill as PC George Garfield. Huw posted a celebratory shot showing their special day in October 2022 as they posed with their son Jack, 11, on a boat in Sydney. The Bill actor gushed in his caption: "Got married to my love yesterday. We had the best of days." Hannah can be seen gazing lovingly at her spouse as they celebrated their special day. She wore a patterned, long-sleeve blue frock - perhaps as her something blue - complete with gold strappy sandals and a navy pashmina. She clutched a bouquet of cream flowers and accessorised with a pair of sunglasses. The happy couple made the move to Australia in 2014. It came after Hannah married fellow EastEnders star Ricky Groves in 2006. But, the pair separated in 2010 and divorced in 2014. 4 4

Inspirational burns survivor Turia Pitt reveals new career move after being forced to change her life as she was 'pushing her own needs aside'

Burns survivor Turia Pitt has launched her new book. The Aussie athlete, who was tragically caught in a grassfire while competing in a 100km ultra-marathon in 2011, has released her latest project titled Selfish, which examines 'how to unlearn the rules that are breaking you'. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 37-year-old revealed that she thought the word 'selfish' was in need of a rebrand, encouraging people to empower themselves and take the right measures to avoid burnout. 'We're told that being selfish is bad. That we should always think of others, put everyone else first, push our own needs aside,' she wrote in the post's caption. 'I bought into that story. And it led me straight to burnout. This is the book I wish I had during that time.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. She went on to say that she wrote the book for people who have ever felt 'stretched too thin, lost, or like you're living by someone else's rules.' Selfish, which is Turia's fifth book, is set to hit shelves in October but can be pre-ordered now. In 2023, it was revealed that the much-anticipated movie about Pitt starring Home and Away actress Tammin Sursok had stalled. In 2019, Tammin announced she was set to play the courageous athlete who sustained horrific burn injuries to 64 percent of her body in a wildfire 14 years ago. But Turia told The Daily Telegraph that further talks with the US-based actress had been put off. 'That was on the cards but not at the moment,' the mother of two said of the proposed biopic. She added: 'It is not something that is at the top of my priority list. Every day, I am not like, ''let's try and get this movie made''. I am not doing that at all.' 'Whether or not a film gets made, I don't really think it is in my control. 'I think I would be (involved),' she said. 'That would be really weird if someone made a movie and I just saw it on the TV. That would be quite strange.' In 2011, Turia survived against the odds after getting caught in a wildfire while competing in an ultramarathon in Western Australia. The Celebrity Apprentice star was left with horrific burns and later became a motivational speaker. In 2023, she opened up about the aftermath of the tragedy 11 years on, and said she 'wanted to die' during the early stages of her hospitalisation. Fortunately, Turia found the will to live and she went on to become a successful motivational speaker who has shared her story with thousands of people. Meanwhile, Sursok is best known to viewers for her role as the character of Dani Sutherland in Home in Away. The South African-born Australian star appeared in the iconic soap from 2000 to 2004.
