A video of a couple riding a motorcycle on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway has gone viral for all the wrong reasons. The short clip shows the woman dangerously perched on the fuel tank of the bike, hugging the rider from the front, as they sped along the busy road, neither of them wearing helmets.
A passenger in a car filmed the risky stunt and later shared it online, and the couple quickly drew widespread criticism. The motorcycle's registration number was visible in the 19-second footage, filmed on June 15.

As outrage grew on social media over the blatant disregard for traffic laws, the Noida traffic police took action.
Confirming the action on X, the Noida traffic police said, 'Taking cognisance of the said complaint, action has been taken against the concerned vehicle for violating traffic rules by issuing an e-challan (fine of Rs 53,500) as per the regulations.'
pic.twitter.com/oxFkPti07b

'The video came to notice through social media in which a boy and his co-rider were seen flouting traffic norms. After that, a challan of Rs 55,000 has been issued to them,' Lakhan Singh Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Gautam Buddh Nagar, told The Times of India.
Yadav also urged people to avoid such reckless behaviour, warning that strict penalties will continue to be enforced against those who break traffic rules.
This isn't the first time a stunt like this has grabbed attention. A similar incident from Bengaluru had gone viral, showing another couple pulling off a risky act on a busy stretch.
In that video, the man was seen riding a motorcycle helmet-less through the bustling Sarjapur Main Road, while the woman sat dangerously on the fuel tank, facing him. The video of the man driving the motorcycle, carrying a Tamil Nadu registration number, drew sharp criticism online, with people slamming the recklessness and highlighting the growing disregard for road safety.

Sonepur division sets record by penalising 7,600 ticketless passengers in a day

Patna: In a major crackdown on fare evasion, the Sonepur division of the East Central Railway (ECR) achieved a historic milestone on Monday by penalising the highest number of ticketless passengers in a single day across the division. During a large-scale ticket checking operation, a record 7,607 passengers were found travelling without valid tickets. Railway officials and ticket checking staff collected a total of Rs 56,52,750 in penalties, the highest amount ever recorded in a single day for both the Sonepur division and the entire ECR zone, according to Sonepur Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Bhushan Sood. Sood added that the intensive drive was carried out across key stations and routes under the jurisdiction of the Sonepur division, with the objective of completely curbing unauthorised and ticketless travel. "This is a significant achievement and a reflection of the relentless efforts of our ticket checking staff and the coordination between various railway departments," he said. Sonepur senior divisional commercial manager Raushan Kumar added that the railways has intensified monitoring activities in recent months to target illegal and unauthorised travel in long-distance mail and express trains, especially in reserved coaches. "More such surprise drives will be conducted in the coming weeks to curb fare evasion and ensure compliance with travel norms for passengers," he said. He said the railways has launched an awareness campaign urging passengers, particularly those from rural backgrounds, to travel with valid tickets in order to avoid penalties and legal consequences.

She Scouted Locked Delhi Homes, Used 50 Master Keys To Rob Them, Arrested

New Delhi: A 23-year-old former call centre employee, who turned to burglary, has been arrested for targeting locked houses in upscale areas of southwest Delhi using 50 master keys, an official said on Tuesday. The accused, Joynila Tongsin Anal, a native of Manipur had moved to Delhi in October 2024 and initially took up a job at a call centre while living in Munirka, he said. She quit her job soon and allegedly began targeting locked homes in nearby localities like Kishangarh and Safdarjung Enclave, he added. She used a bunch of keys to test on door locks and would slip into houses discreetly, decamping with valuables, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel said. The case came to light when two separate burglary complaints were filed at Kishangarh police station and Safdarjung Enclave police station earlier this month. A complainant alleged that a laptop, LED TV, and camera accessories were stolen from his home in Munirka while another person reported that gold and diamond earrings, a headphone, shoes, along with Rs 1,300 in cash were stolen from his residence, Goel said. On June 14, Joynila was arrested from the Chhatarpur area. During interrogation she confessed to the burglaries and led the police to her residence where stolen items from multiple cases were recovered. The 50 keys in her possession that she used to open locked homes without drawing attention, were also seized, the officer said. "Her method was systematic. She scouted locked homes and used keys in her possession to silently enter. The recoveries and her confession have helped us solve at least four burglary cases," the DCP added.
