Maghreb de Fes Set to Become Richest Football Club in Morocco After TGCC Deal
Maghreb de Fes (MAS) is on the verge of a jaw-dropping revamp after billionaire Mohamed Bouzoubaa, the construction tycoon who owns the giant firm TGCC Group, has bought a huge stake of the club – setting the stage for a football revolution in the one of the most historic clubs in Morocco. Bouzoubaa, one of Morocco's top five richest men with a fortune estimated at $1.3 billion, made his money building mega-projects across Morocco and Africa. He is even helping to build and upgrade stadiums for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, and the 2030 World Cup co-hosted with Spain and Portugal. The TGCC owner is expected to take up 30% of the club, alongside Ismail El Jamai (35%) and the MAS Association (35%). Now, MAS is on track to turn into a football powerhouse, with the new cash flow poised to attract top-tier players, revamp training facilities, and eventually rival for the domestic titles against Wydad, Raja, and AS FAR. Investments don't stop there. The club also recently signed a new sponsorship deal with Daiko, a leading home appliance brand.
