Prominent figures attend opening ceremony
The event, held on Saturday evening at the club's headquarters, welcomed a number of prominent sporting and cultural figures. Among them were Abdullah Mohammed Mleih, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council; Mohammed Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chairman of Diba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club; Mohammed Abdullah Rashid Al Tarban Al Hammoudi, Chairman of Diba Al Hisn Football Club; and Mohammed Ali Al Dhuhouri, Head of the Community Culture Committee.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthem of the United Arab Emirates, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur'an. The competition was then officially launched, quickly turning into a platform for purposeful and spirited rivalry among the participating teams.
Sharjah team takes the lead
The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club team performed outstandingly throughout the competition, securing first place and earning the championship trophy along with a well-deserved cash prize. Diba Al Hisn Sports and Cultural Club claimed second place, followed by Sharjah Cultural Chess Club in third, and Al Hamriyah Club in fourth.
The lively and engaging presentation of the competition's segments added to the event's success. This was credited to the efforts of Ahmed Abdullah Al Naqbi, Head of Strategic Planning and Institutional Excellence and Deputy Head of the Cultural Committee, and Mohammed Rashid Rashoud, member of the Cultural Committee. Their polished delivery and dynamic style captured the attention of the audience and contributed to an atmosphere full of excitement and cultural engagement.

In his remarks during the event, Dr Mohammed Ahmed Al Matoua affirmed that the cultural competition has become a vital part of the club's annual programming. He noted that its purpose is to promote general knowledge, sharpen intellectual skills, and uncover emerging talents within the community.

Sharjah crowned champions of UAE Taekwondo Cup
Recognition and individual awards Sharjah Club also received the Excellence Award from the UAE Taekwondo Federation in recognition of its role in hosting international training camps and organising championships. The club was further honoured with the Outstanding Partner Award. In individual honours, Sharjah received the award for Best Coach of the Season, and its athletes were recognised as Best Player in the men's, youth, and junior categories. With this result, the 'Kings of Taekwondo' added their 10th title of the season and claimed the overall championship trophy in the men's category. Official statement from the club Engineer Suleiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Board Member and Head of Individual Sports, said: "We congratulate the taekwondo team on this achievement, which reflects the efforts of the technical and administrative staff. I also commend the outstanding performance of our athletes who lived up to expectations and represented the club in the best way throughout the season." He added: "Individual sports at Sharjah Club follow a strategy of continuity and generational transition. This long-term approach has yielded remarkable results across all disciplines over the years. We will continue this path to safeguard our successes and achieve new milestones in future seasons." Al Hajri also stressed that the consistent support and attention from the Sharjah Sports Council have played a major role in the success of individual sports across the emirate, especially at Sharjah Club. He acknowledged the unwavering backing of the club's Board of Directors, which has stood by the teams in every competition. Looking ahead to the next season Al Hajri concluded by noting that preparations for the new season are already underway, with plans to meet all team needs to ensure they are fully equipped to compete at the highest level. Sharjah Club wins Karate Cup and Excellence Shield
A historic season of dominance The club enjoyed a remarkable season, winning 15 cups and claiming first place in seven tournaments. They were also awarded the General League Shield three times, along with multiple excellence shields, including the Kata and Kumite Shield, the Men's General Excellence Shield, and the Technical and Administrative Excellence Shield. Sharjah Club set a new record by scoring 1,007 points, becoming the first club in UAE karate history to reach this milestone. Leadership and recognition Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, awarded the General Shield in a ceremony attended by Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, and Engineer Sulaiman Abdulrahman Al Hajri, Head of Individual Games. Khalid Al Midfa praised the continuous achievements of the club's karate team, stating the Board of Directors' commitment to supporting all sports at the club and maintaining the legacy established by previous leadership. Strategic planning and player development Engineer Al Hajri highlighted that the victory reflects years of strategic planning, saying the Individual Games Department has been implementing development plans for over five years.
