Dubai, UAE – July 28, 2025 – LEOS Developments, in partnership with Dubai Charity Association, hosted a successful toy drive last month, collecting over 300 toys for underprivileged children across the city.
Held at the LEOS amphitheatre in Business Bay, the initiative brought together members of the community to support vulnerable children, many of whom have been left without stable family support. The donated toys were distributed during a joyful afternoon event, where children were treated to refreshments, interactive games, and inclusive activities designed to bring joy and a sense of belonging.
'Building a community means more than creating homes; it means creating spaces where everyone, especially the most vulnerable, feels cared for and included,' said Rui Liu, Chairman and Founder of LEOS Developments. 'When it comes to children without families, who face unique challenges and uncertainties, it becomes even more important that we come together to offer support and hope. While no single initiative can address every need, small acts of kindness, like this toy drive, can create moments of joy and a sense of belonging for these children that matter deeply. We hope this inspires others to contribute in whatever way they can, helping build a more compassionate and inclusive society for all.'
This initiative also builds on LEOS Developments' wider commitment to social responsibility, following the company's pledge to donate profits from its Kensington Gardens development and all future projects to the Dubai Charity Association in support of long-term charitable causes across the emirate. It also aligns with national efforts like Dubai's Family Village, a government-backed residential community that provides long-term care for children without families, highlighting the importance of community-led contributions.
As the UAE continues to lead in values of giving and inclusion, LEOS Developments, by aligning its success with the well-being of the wider community, continues to set a powerful example of how business and philanthropy can work hand in hand to build a more compassionate and inclusive future.

Chelsea loan defender Sarr back to Strasbourg for upcoming season - World

Premier League side Chelsea loaned teenage defender Mamadou Sarr back to sister club Strasbourg on Friday for the upcoming Ligue 1 season. The French club confirmed the loan move on its website, having sold the highly rated Sarr to Chelsea in June. Strasbourg is owned by the consortium led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital that bought Chelsea in 2022. The 19-year-old Sarr is a France under-20 international. He was a regular last season, playing 27 league games as Alsace-based Strasbourg finished in seventh place to seal a place in the Conference League playoffs. He previously played briefly for Lyon. Chelsea won the Conference League last season and will play in the Champions League after finishing in fourth place in the Premier League. Strasbourg was bought by Chelsea's ownership group, BlueCo, in 2023. Chelsea said Sarr had signed a contract until 2033 but didn't disclose the transfer fee. Strasbourg open its league campaign at Metz on Aug. 17. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at @AO_Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports.) Newcastle reject Liverpool bid for Isak: Reports - World

Newcastle have rejected Liverpool's opening bid to sign unsettled Sweden striker Alexander Isak, according to reports on Friday. Isak has been training at his old club Real Sociedad this week after reportedly telling Newcastle he wants to leave St James' Park. The 25-year-old has been linked with Liverpool since the end of last season and the Premier League champions are now believed to have formalised their interest with an offer of around £110 million ($159 million) plus potential add-ons. But Newcastle, who reportedly value Isak at £150 million, remain keen to hold onto their prize asset and have rebuffed Liverpool's initial bid. Isak, who joined Newcastle in a £60 million move from Real Sociedad in 2022, scored 23 Premier League goals last season to help Newcastle qualify for the Champions League. He has three years left on his Newcastle contract, but did not travel to Asia for the Magpies' ongoing pre-season tour, with the club saying he had a minor thigh injury. On Thursday, Real Sociedad confirmed he was at their Zubieta facility with his own trainers. It was reported on Friday that Newcastle had told Isak he could agree a new deal containing a get-out clause for next year, but he responded by insisting he wants to move now. Liverpool manager Arne Slot has already bolstered his attacking options by signing Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike and Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz during the current transfer window. But the Reds are keen to make their forward line even more formidable by adding Isak as they look to win back to back English titles for the first time since the 1980s. Newcastle boss Eddie Howe struck a defiant note earlier this week when he said: "He is still our player. He's contracted to us. "We, to a degree, control what is next for him. I would love to believe all possibilities are still available to us. "My wish is that he stays, but that's not in my full control." Liverpool have spent over £250 million so far in the summer window, with Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong and Giorgi Mamardashvili joining Wirtz and Ekitike at Anfield. Heathrow Airport Expansion to Cost £49 Billion

Israa Farhan Heathrow Airport, Europe's busiest hub by passenger numbers, has announced an ambitious £49 billion expansion and modernization plan, which includes the construction of a long-debated third runway. The entire project will be funded by private sector investment. The airport's Chief Executive Officer, Thomas Woldbye, stated on Friday that the expansion is now more vital than ever, as Heathrow is operating at full capacity. The upgrade aims to significantly enhance the UK capital's global competitiveness in trade and transport. Despite years of legal battles and continued resistance from environmental campaigners, residents, and even London Mayor Sadiq Khan alongside members of the ruling Labor Party, the British government approved the new runway plan in January. According to the announcement, the expansion is set to double Heathrow's annual passenger capacity from 84 million to 150 million. The construction and operational launch of the third runway is scheduled to take place over the next decade. Of the total investment, £21 billion will be allocated directly to the new runway, while the remaining funds will be used for broader airport upgrades and modernization, a process expected to continue over the coming decades. The project has faced legal and political hurdles for years. In late 2020, the UK Supreme Court gave the green light for the third runway after a protracted legal dispute. However, the pandemic significantly delayed progress. The Heathrow Airport Holdings Group, overseeing the project, is majority-owned by international investors. French infrastructure firm Ardian holds the largest share at 32.6%, followed by the Qatar Investment Authority at 20%, and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund with a 15% stake. read more Gold prices rise, 21 Karat at EGP 3685 NATO's Role in Israeli-Palestinian Conflict US Expresses 'Strong Opposition' to New Turkish Military Operation in Syria Shoukry Meets Director-General of FAO Lavrov: confrontation bet. nuclear powers must be avoided News Iran Summons French Ambassador over Foreign Minister Remarks News Aboul Gheit Condemns Israeli Escalation in West Bank News Greek PM: Athens Plays Key Role in Improving Energy Security in Region News One Person Injured in Explosion at Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
