Terrifying video shows out-of-control Saab 'reversing' wrong way down busy Texas freeway with driver inside

Daily Mail14-05-2025

Frightening video captured an out-of-control Saab 9-3 being recklessly towed down a busy Texas freeway by an SUV.
The distressing incident took place Monday afternoon on Houston's Highway 290 after the sedan broke down.
The male driver of the car then called his girlfriend to help him out because they did not have the money to call a tow truck, police told KTRK.
Instead, the couple decided to create their own towing system, chaining the sedan to the SUV all while the man remained in the driver's seat of the convertible.
Once the makeshift tow got underway, the sedan's axle reportedly snapped off, causing it to swerve back and forth into lanes packed with other vehicles.
Several nearby cars were seen slowing down and keeping a safe distance from the two cars, including David Chairez who was merging onto the freeway as it happened.
'It looked like a scene from Fast & Furious. That was very reckless, and that was very dangerous,' Chairez told the outlet.
What made the entire ordeal even more bizarre was the fact that the woman driving the SUV appeared to be laughing, according to Chairez.
Miraculously, nobody was hurt, but the broken down car did sustain damage from being thrown around the road.
Donte Brown, the 32-year-old driver of the Saab, was arrested for an unrelated incident after officers discovered there was an active warrant for his arrest out of Georgia, police told the outlet.
No citations were given in relation to this case.
Video of the horrific moment began with the person recording screaming: 'Bro, don't do that!' as the car swerved left and right.
Multiple vehicles behind and next to the car then slowed down and moved out of the way as the two cars cut across lanes.
The white SUV then pulled the sedan close to a concrete median as it continued to move erratically before slamming into it.
At one point, the sedan wheels started to screech all while the passenger remained inside as the clip ended.
'To see something like this, this is not normal,' Chariez said.
Officers told the outlet the incident could result in a violation for failing to stay in a single lane of traffic, along with other potential citations.
'Call a wrecker or call someone for help. Make a complete stop. Don't go backwards on the freeway,' Chariez suggested.

FBI storm Colorado terror suspect's home as Trump admin reveals how Biden allowed 'illegal alien' to stay in the US

The home of an illegal alien suspected of committing an atrocious firebomb terror attack at a Colorado pro-Israel demonstration was surrounded by police last night. Mohamed Soliman, 45, unleashed terror on a group of about 30 peaceful protestors in Boulder, using a flamethrower and Molotov cocktails to set eight victims alight. The casualties, which included an 88-year-old Holocaust survivor, were rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon with varying injuries but at least one was considered critical. Soliman arrived in the United States from Egypt in August 2022, but overstayed his initial tourist visa and was ultimately handed a two-year work permit by the Biden administration, which he also overstayed, DHS sources told Fox News. Now an illegal alien, the Trump administration turned up the heat on Biden overnight, demanding answers as to why Soliman was allowed to remain in the country despite twice breaching the conditions of his visa. 'Suicidal migration must be fully reversed,' White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller said. 'The Biden Admin granted the alien a visa and then, when he illegally overstayed, they gave him a work permit. 'Immigration security is national security. No more hostile migration. Keep them out and send them back.' Soliman's latest work permit lapsed in March 2025. The sources said he had filed a claim with the US Citizenship and Immigration Services on September 9, 2022, and the status of that claim remains unclear. Authorities revealed late on Sunday night that the casualty toll had risen from six to eight as the investigation into Soliman's alleged actions continues Authorities revealed late on Sunday night that the casualty toll had risen from six to eight as the investigation into Soliman's alleged actions continues. The victims are now aged between 52 and 88. Two of them had to be airlifted to a burn unit with serious injuries, while the remainder suffered minor injuries. In addition to the Holocaust refugee, who has been described as a 'very loving person', a second victim is a professor at Colorado University. The FBI was quick to describe Soliman's actions as hate motivated and an act of terror. Officers within the FBI's Denver unit arrived at a home linked to the suspect to conduct 'court-authorized law enforcement activity' as part of the investigation. The unassuming El Paso County home was surrounded by officers as confused neighbors noted they didn't know the residents of the address well. 'As this is an ongoing investigation, no additional information is available at this time,' the FBI said. According to the New York Times, a woman was allowed to enter the home which had been identified as belonging to Soliman. And according to CNN, senior officials are closely examining the 45-year-old's mental health history. 'He's shirtless, screaming, used rudimentary (explosive) devices, and stuck around to be arrested,' one source said. The source said Soliman's method of attack did not align with a thought-out plan to cause large scale casualties. But chilling footage clearly demonstrated that Soliman was able to exact terror upon his targets at Pearl Street Mall on Sunday. Witnesses recalled the horror of seeing victims writhe around on the floor in pain as their skin melted off their bodies as Soliman paced up and down shouting vile accusations at the traumatized group. One witness, identified only as Brian, said he watched Good Samaritans rush toward the carnage to offer assistance to the victims. One woman was being wrapped up and attended to on the ground. Another, he said, 'looked like their skin had just melted off their bodies. 'He was very erratic, shouting and spewing terrible things at different people.' During the attack, he was shouting 'Free Palestine' at the Jewish demonstrators. California tourist Alex Osante was eating at an Italian restaurant off Boulder's famed Pearl Street pedestrian mall when he heard a 'big boom' and saw a woman 'on fire from head to toe on fire.' Within minutes, a nearby man ran to his table to grab two bottles of water before rushing back to victims writhing in flames on the ground. 'People were screaming and yelling … tripping over each other,' he told Daily Mail. 'The terrorist had a Molotov cocktail in his hand. He had two other bottles, and he threw a bottle at the group, and a lady caught on fire from head to toe – fully immersed in fire. 'And then the other few people, maybe four others, were also on fire – but not as bad,' he said. He said he saw victims lying on the grass and writhing around while it felt 'way too long' until first responders arrived. Meanwhile, Soliman appeared to taunt the victims while brandishing bottles of alcohol for the Molotov cocktails in each hand as smoke rose from the scene. Wearing only jeans and sunglasses, he yelled: 'End Zionists... they are terrorists' and 'free Palestine'. He also said: 'How many children have you killed?' according to the ADL Center on Extremism. Ed Victor, who was participating in the walk, told CBS he and a group of about 30 people had gathered for their peaceful demonstration on Sunday afternoon as they had every week since the October 7 attacks. He said they would sing songs and share the names of the hostages in Gaza each week. Sometimes they were heckled, often they were praised and clapped by onlookers. Whatever reception they received, they never expected to be attacked. Sharing details of Sunday's chilling events, he said: 'So we stood up, lined up in front of the old Boulder courthouse, and I was actually on the far west side. 'And there was somebody there that I didn't even notice, although he was making a lot of noise, but I'm just focused on my job of being quiet and getting lined up. 'From my point of view, all of a sudden, I felt the heat. 'It was a Molotov cocktail equivalent, a gas bomb in a glass jar, thrown. Av [another marcher] saw it, a big flame as high as a tree, and all I saw was someone on fire.' While another participant who had medical experience rushed in to help the victim, Victor stayed back with her husband, providing him comfort. Street performer Peter Irish described witnessing the horrors of the attack as 'traumatic'. 'I saw the aftermath,' he told CBS Colorado. 'It was like minutes after. I came out, it was chaos, people were writhing on the ground. It was traumatic to watch, to be honest with you. It was chaos.' Jewish human rights organization the Simon Wiesenthal Center told the Boulder attack came on the first day of a religious holiday. 'On the eve of Shavuot, a sacred celebration of Jewish identity and tradition, we are forced yet again to confront a horrifying reality: Being Jewish, supporting Israel, or simply gathering as a community now makes American Jews a target,' the center's CEO Jim Berk said. The incident has attracted an outpouring of support for the community and outrage for the suspect's actions, particularly as the Jewish diaspora in America still reels from the shooting death of two young embassy employees just a fortnight ago. FBI Director Kash Patel called the incident a 'terror attack' while Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said it 'appears to be a hate crime given the group that was targeted.' New York Congressman Ritchie Torres blamed a 'hate movement' for contributing to rising anti-Semitism in the community, while Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino issued a chilling warning that his department would not rest until justice was served.

Eight injured in ‘flamethrower' attack at pro-Israel rally in Colorado

Six people were injured in Boulder, Colorado, when a man attacked a group calling for the release of Israeli hostages in Gaza using a makeshift flamethrower and an incendiary device. The FBI is investigating the incident as a "targeted terror Attack," with the suspect yelling "Free Palestine" during the assault. The victims, aged 67 to 88, sustained injuries consistent with being set on fire and were hospitalised with injuries ranging from serious to minor. A man was arrested at the scene; authorities expect to hold him accountable, with the FBI treating the Attack as an act of ideologically motivated violence. The Attack occurred at the Pearl Street pedestrian mall and follows a rise in antisemitic violence in the U.S. amid ongoing Israel-Hamas war tensions.

Holocaust survivor among eight victims of Colorado terror attack as friends reveal how peaceful weekly pro-Israel event turned to horror

A Holocaust survivor and a college professor were among those injured when a terrorist launched makeshift flamethrowers at a peaceful pro-Israel rally on Sunday, according to witnesses. Police said Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, injured eight people - setting at least one ablaze - at a demonstration honoring the October 7 victims who are still being held hostage by Hamas militants in Gaza. The horror unfolded during an event organized by Jewish group Run For Their Lives on Pearl Street Mall in the city's downtown just before 1.30pm local time on Sunday. Boulder Police have not publicly identified the victims of the hate crime, but described them as four women and four men ranging in age from 52 to 88. Longtime Boulder residents Rabbi Israel Wilhelm and filmmaker Lisa Effress said the oldest victim of Sunday's attack lived through the horrors of the Holocaust. Wilhelm told CBS Colorado the 88-year-old female victim was a refugee who fled Europe during Adolf Hitler's purge. He described her as a 'very loving person'. Effress, 55, said she is friends with the same victim, adding that she witnessed medics loading her into an ambulance at the scene on Sunday afternoon. 'It was horrible,' she told the New York Times. Wilhelm, who is the Chabad director at the University of Colorado Boulder, added that another victim is a professor at the college. Effress, who has lived in the ordinarily peaceful Colorado mountain town for 17 years, said the demonstration Soliman targeted has been taking place every Sunday since a few weeks after the October 7, 2023 terror attack in Israel. A group of varying size - usually around 20 to 100 people - gathers at Pearl Street Mall in the city's downtown each week to draw attention to the 58 Israeli hostages who are still being held by Hamas militants in Gaza. Effress usually takes part but did not this Sunday. She was across the street having lunch with her daughter, and as soon as she heard police and ambulance sirens on the mall she knew what had happened. 'I knew immediately - I just knew,' she said. 'I ran across the street, looking for everyone.' Ed Victor, who was part of the pro-Israel walk on Sunday, said the group sometimes encounters hecklers, but he was not prepared for a vicious Molotov cocktail attack. 'We stood up, lined up in front of the old Boulder courthouse, and I was actually on the far west side,' he told CBS Colorado as he recalled the horrific incident. 'There was somebody there that I didn't even notice, although he was making a lot of noise, but I'm just focused on my job of being quiet and getting lined up. 'And, from my point of view, all of a sudden, I felt the heat. It was a Molotov cocktail equivalent, a gas bomb in a glass jar, thrown. 'Av [another marcher] saw it, a big flame as high as a tree, and all I saw was someone on fire.' Victor said one member of the group with medical experience stepped in to take care of the woman on fire, while he comforted her husband. He said several people nearby also rushed in to help, with many bringing water from nearby restaurants and houses. They included bystander Brian H, who did not want to give his last name. He witnessed the horror while he was dining outside nearby with his family. Brian told CNN he saw a man launching 'Molotov cocktails' at the demonstration. He said another man was trying to talk the suspect down, but the suspect yelled at them: 'F**k you, Zionist,' 'You all deserve to die,' and 'You've killed these children.' 'He was very erratic, shouting and spewing terrible things at different people,' Brian said. Brian said he saw an elderly woman lying unresponsive on the ground. 'There were several people attending to her and wrapping her up, trying to ensure she was ok,' he told CNN. He added that he brought a large bucket from the restaurant and filled it with water from a fountain in the courtyard, before pouring it on the burn victims. Victor said there were around 30 people at the demonstration on Sunday walking their usual route while singing the Israeli national anthem, telling stories and recounting the names of the hostages. Street performer Peter Irish described witnessing the horrors of the attack as 'traumatic'. 'I saw the aftermath,' he told CBS Colorado. 'It was like minutes after. 'I came out, it was chaos, people were writhing on the ground. It was traumatic to watch, to be honest with you. It was chaos.' FBI Director Kash Patel called the incident a 'terror attack' while Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser said it 'appears to be a hate crime given the group that was targeted'. Shocking footage from the scene showed several victims laying motionless on the ground beside Israel flags as witnesses rushed to pour water on their wounds. Soliman appeared to taunt the victims while brandishing bottles of alcohol for the Molotov cocktails in each hand as smoke rose from the scene. Wearing only jeans and sunglasses, he yelled: 'End Zionists... they are terrorists' and 'free Palestine'. He also said: 'How many children have you killed?' according to the ADL Center on Extremism. Disturbing footage of Soliman's attack showed EMTs used stretchers to move people into ambulances while flames spread in patches across the ground. Another video showed what looked like a burn scar across the ground close to the city's old courthouse. Blackened burned-out bottles littered the scene. The Boulder attack occurred as law enforcement authorities in the US grapple with a sharp spike in antisemitic violence. It comes just over a week after a man was arrested over the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington, DC on May 22. The victims were identified as German-Israeli dual national Yaron Lischinsky, 30, and his girlfriend Sarah Milgrim, 26. Lischinsky had been planning to propose to Milgrim after buying a ring. The suspect, 30-year-old Elias Rodriguez, repeatedly shouted 'Free Palestine' after shooting them dead, as police dragged him away. Jewish human rights organization the Simon Wiesenthal Center told the Boulder attack came on the first day of a religious holiday. 'On the eve of Shavuot, a sacred celebration of Jewish identity and tradition, we are forced yet again to confront a horrifying reality: Being Jewish, supporting Israel, or simply gathering as a community now makes American Jews a target,' the center's CEO Jim Berk said. 'This afternoon in Boulder, Colorado, a man threw a Molotov cocktail into a peaceful solidarity walk calling for the release of 58 hostages still held by Hamas, a humanitarian cause that should unite, not divide.' He blamed the attack, as well as the murders of the Israeli embassy staffers, on 'months of anti-Israel propaganda, moral equivocation, and silence in the face of raging antisemitism'. 'The nonstop demonization of Israel and Zionism on our campuses, in our streets, and across digital platforms has created a climate where hate flourishes, and physical attacks—even murder—of Jews is inevitable,' Berk said.
