He also pointed out that the shift would enable further investment in low-latency technologies, which are increasingly important for supporting artificial intelligence applications across multi-cloud environments. Apple Watch owners in the US are getting back as early as today a popular health feature that was taken away last year from the Apple Watch Series 9 , Series 10, and Apple Watch Ultra 2 . Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that blood oxygen tracking will return as part of an upcoming software update, ending a months-long absence caused by a legal dispute. Apple had to turn off the feature in late 2023 after a patent infringement lawsuit from medical technology company Masimo Corp. In this lawsuit, Masimo claimed that Apple's blood oxygen monitoring technology copied its patented designs. The US International Trade Commission agreed, which led to a US Customs order preventing Apple from selling watches with the feature active. Instead of removing the sensor from the hardware, Apple kept it in but disabled it for new units sold in the US. That meant customers could still buy the latest Apple Watch models but couldn't take a blood oxygen reading. The move allowed Apple to keep products on shelves while it looked for a legal and technical workaround. That workaround is arriving with iOS 18.6.1 and watchOS 11.6.1, which will roll out today . This has been confirmed by Apple in a post, clarifying that the update will allow readings to return for affected watches, but with a change: the measurement will now be calculated on the paired iPhone, not on the watch itself. Users will see their results in the Respiratory section of the Health app on iPhone, rather than directly in the Blood Oxygen app on the watch. Apple says this adjustment follows the updated terms of a US Customs ruling. A tipster has now revealed another feature coming to the Google foldable. According to tipster Evan Blass, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will support Qi2 wireless charging. This means that the foldable could feature magnets on the back and work with the rumored Pixelsnap magnetic charger. The tipster also reiterates that Google will not launch the Pixel 10 Pro Fold alongside the other Pixel 10 series phones. It will be available for purchase at a later date, on October 9 to be precise. The Pixel Watch 4 and Buds 2a will also be released on the same date. Google's Pixel 10 Pro Fold is rumored to be slightly thicker and heavier than the current 9 Pro Fold. This is likely because of the larger battery and the inclusion of magnets for Qi2 charging. Apple, super smart Siri and home robots? Yeah… sure, I'll believe it when I see it
Apple, Siri and home robots? Yeah, it kind of all sounds like science fiction now, right? I mean, there's news that the Cupertino tech giant will apparently launch some sort of home robot in 2027, along with a 'super smart' Siri (we'll wait until then?) and a smart home hub. But reading all this, I kind of didn't believe it. Lately, disappointment has been settling in my heart when it comes to Apple, and, well… I may have trust issues with it at this point. And yes, there's a reason for that – especially when it comes to Siri updates. Still an Apple user… just don't ask me to get excited Don't get me wrong, I still use Apple products, and I probably will keep using them, because, well, for me, they just work (I don't use many AI features). But that doesn't mean I've forgotten the Siri fiasco – or the fact that the iPhone 17 is about to launch next month while people who bought the iPhone 16 with the promise of a smarter digital assistant… still don't have it. While many Apple Intelligence features are already available, the big Siri upgrade is still MIA. | Video credit – Apple So when I hear that this 'upgraded' Siri might show up next spring at the earliest, my excitement for future Apple products is… muted. Because really, can they even be on time? Or work as promised? With disappointment and broken promises, trust takes a long time to rebuild. Its Ballie robot, powered by Google Cloud's Gemini AI, is set to launch later this year and it can chat naturally while managing lights, greeting visitors, scheduling tasks, setting reminders, and even feeding your dog (yes, really). So if Apple waits until 2027, it might already be too late to the AI home game. My point is simple: Apple better not announce anything that isn't fully ready, especially with home robots and devices. There's plenty of competition, and people have options. Right now, millions are already using AI assistants like ChatGPT and Gemini. I can bet many won't switch to Siri once it finally shows up – they've trained their assistants, they like them, and they've got the routines down. So yeah, Apple might not just be behind in this race, but lost it already. But, of course, we'll have to wait and see if Siri can actually impress and prove it's more advanced than the rest.
