Reflecting on her long-standing friendship with Deanne, Lara added: 'DP (as I fondly call her) has been more than a friend for over 25 years. She was there when I first moved to Mumbai as a teenager, knowing no one, she and her family made me feel like I had people around me who genuinely cared. She stood by me when I won Miss India and Miss Universe, helping me stay grounded and focused on my fitness and mental well-being. She's been there through my relationships and heartbreaks, my wedding, the birth of my daughter, and more recently, the loss of a parent. She's always simply been there, quietly, solidly, with compassion, courage, and love (sic).'Emphasising Deanne's devotion to her family, Lara continued: 'I've watched her work tirelessly for her loved ones, even when she was mentally and physically drained she always shows up for the people she cares about. Silently stepping in, handling everything that needs to be done, never asking for anything in return.
