Aamir Khan has revealed that Sitaare Zameen Par, his upcoming sports comedy-drama, will release only in theatres with no plans for an OTT or YouTube release. In a recent interview, he admitted he is unsure if the film will succeed at the box office, calling it "ill-timed" as only action films seem to be working currently. Despite being happy with the film's emotional and inspiring story, Khan said he remains anxious about its commercial performance. Tired of too many ads? Remove Ads No OTT or YouTube Release Planned Sitaare Zameen Par Story Khan's Longstanding Struggle with Timing Ahead of the theatrical release of Sitaare Zameen Par on June 20, Aamir Khan has openly expressed doubts about whether the film will perform well at the box office. In an interview with Baradwaj Rangan on Galatta Plus, the actor spoke candidly about how uncertain he feels, given the current market trend where action films dominate ticket described the timing of Sitaare Zameen Par as 'completely ill-timed,' noting that his film, a sports comedy-drama, enters cinemas during a period when audiences seem solely interested in action-heavy content. He admitted, 'My film is a comedy, but right now only the action is working,' and reflected on how this mismatch has happened before in his career, such as with Ghajini, which was released when action films weren't also cleared the air on speculation that Sitaare Zameen Par may be released on streaming platforms or even on YouTube. Dismissing these rumours, he confirmed that the film is a theatrical-only release. Viewers who miss catching it on the big screen, he hinted, might not get another chance. The actor emphasised that there are currently no plans to distribute the film on OTT platforms, making the theatre experience a one-time opportunity for by RS Prasanna and produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film tells the story of a disgraced former basketball coach, played by Khan, who is compelled by the court to train a group of individuals on the autism spectrum. This unexpected journey, which starts off as punishment, gradually becomes a meaningful and emotional transformation for the coach and his Deshmukh plays the female lead, adding a romantic subplot to the narrative. The ensemble also features ten newcomers: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. With lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, the film is expected to blend heartwarming themes with humour and expressing pride in the final product, Aamir remained realistic about its prospects. He said he is happy with what the team has created but admitted he has 'no idea' how the audience will receive it. Citing a recurring issue throughout his career, he remarked that his films often release at the wrong time. 'The last 12 films have been action and blockbusters,' he noted, underscoring his worry that Sitaare Zameen Par might get overshadowed despite being a 'heartwarming and beautiful story.'

In one of their vlogs, their sons revealed that their parents Archana and Parmeet didn't allow them to fly in business class with them, and asked them to earn their own money to enjoy the privilege. When asked about the same, he shared, 'We have always tried to keep our children grounded, as normal as possible and keeping them away from the trappings of being in a filmy family. Jitna normal ho sake itna rakhne ki koshish ki hai humne. We have more or less succeeded.' Parmeet continued, 'We taught them that just because you are a star kid, you won't get any special attention, status or treatment. So, earn your livelihood, and at the same time, earn your respect. The beauty shouldn't come to you in your lap. This is what we have inculcated in them since the beginning. They understand that and agree to it. When they travelled in business class with their own money, that joy was incomparable. It was ten times more than your parents handing you a ticket.' Has it proved to be more fruitful than his career as an actor? 'It has proved to be more fruitful, definitely. We started it because we believe that this is the future and we wanted to be a part of it. The entertainment landscape is changing rapidly,' he replied. 'It is coming to your phone screen.
