In an emotional post, Jeff reflected on how his mom's life as an adult began early, becoming a mother at just 17. Bezos said her 'list of people to love never stopped growing' and that she 'always gave so much more than she ever asked for.' He shared that after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia, Jackie died surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and Mike. 'I know she felt our love in those final moments. The mother of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has died at the age 78. A statement by the Bezos Scholars Program said that Jacklyn Bezos, also known as Jackie, died peacefully in her Miami home on Thursday. Their statement added: 'A quiet final chapter to a life that taught all of us, friends and family alike, the true meaning of grit and determination, kindness and service to others.' News of her passing was shared by Bezos' wife Lauren Sanchez, who posted a picture of her mother-in-law to her Instagram with a breaking heart emoji.
