American singer Kehlani is still on cloud nine after teaming up with the iconic Mariah Carey on her latest single 'Sugar Sweet', which also features Jamaican singer-songwriter Shenseea.
The 'Folded' hit maker took to her socials to gush about the experience and shared how Carey has always been an inspiration to her.
Kehlani also revealed that she has been obsessed with Carey's music since she was little, and 'Hero' was one of the first songs she ever learned.
'Nobody speak to me. I got a song with the one and only @mariahcarey. The earliest video of me singing and the first song I ever learned was 'Hero' and everybody who knows me knows this is one of my heroes,' she wrote.
'This woman is the definition of an icon. To have given us so much for DECADES and never fail to impress us through all the twists and turns music makes. I am so honoured and immensely grateful. There truly are no words,' the singer concluded.

She also gave a shoutout to Shenseea, calling her a 'BAD A**' who is on the path to legend status.
In the comment section, Shenseea replied enthusiastically. 'WE DID THAT!!!!' the Jamaican singer wrote. 'Thank you @kehlani, I'm so happy for you, especially given your history!'
Following this exciting collaboration, Carey is set to release her highly anticipated sixteenth studio album, 'Here For It All', which is scheduled to drop on September 26.
'Sugar Sweet' is her second single; it is a catchy, fun and flirtatious song that Carey, Kehlani, and Shenseea all bring their own unique style to it.
While Kehlani's contribution adds soul, Shenseea brings her Caribbean vibe, and they all blend beautifully together.
Carey first released 'Type: Dangerous' on June 6, which had fans excited over what's to come. The album comes after a nearly seven-year hiatus since her fifteenth studio album 'Cautious' in 2018.
'Here For It All' is described as a genre-bending collection that honours Carey's past sound while embracing the future, blending classic styles with fresh collaborations and modern touches to appeal to fans across all ages.
