After winning the Big Ten Championship Game in their first season with the conference, the Oregon Ducks' title dream was cut short by the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff quarter-finals. But the team is ready for next season and expectations are going to be high again.
While the team prepares to defend their conference title and hopefully climb higher, the cheerleading team are going to be doing their part as well.
Among the many Oregon cheerleaders getting ready for 2025 is Annie Finemel, who has attracted plenty of attention for her preparations and dedication to the game.
Finemel is heading into her second year with the cheerleading team. According to her Instagram page, she is also a member of the Oregon Chi Omega Greek organization and SAG.
Between her Instagram and TikTok accounts, she boasts several thousand followers. Her content ranges from videos with her friends to posts telling her life's story and showing what she's had going on this summer:
Expectations for 2025
The Ducks obviously won't have the exactly same lineup of players who won them the conference title last year. The biggest loss by far is quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who left for the NFL, leaving Dante Moore as the new starter despite throwing less than 10 passes for the Ducks last season.
Nine other starters from last season wound up getting drafted in April, leaving nearly half of the starting lineup in need of big changes from head coach Dan Lanning.
There's a pretty clear path back to the Big Ten Championship Game, if not the College Football Playoff, for the Ducks.
After a game against FCS powerhouse Montana State, Oregon will play Oklahoma State, Northwestern and their arch-rivals Oregon State before things really kick into gear.
Arguably their toughest game of the season will be the September 27 tilt against Penn State at Beaver Stadium. That will be followed by a game against top-25 Indiana. Round out the final half of their schedule will be Rutgers, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, USC and Washington.
Nearly every game on that schedule looks winnable in some form or other. It's entirely within the realm of possibility that Oregon's only loss of the season comes to Penn State.
Will the Ducks repeat as Big Ten champions?

Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates prediction, pick, start time for UFC 319

Geoff Neal and Carlos Prates meet on the main card of UFC 319 at United Center in Chicago. Check out this quick breakdown of the matchup from MMA Junkie analyst Dan Tom. Last event: 4-2 UFC main cards, 2025: 80-60-1 Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates UFC 319 preview Neal (16-6 MMA, 8-4 UFC) will look to make it back-to-back victories following a first-round finish of former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 308. The result ended a two-fight skid against Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Machado Garry. Prior to those setbacks, "Handz of Steel" won a split decision over Santiago Ponzinibbio and finished Vicente Luque in consecutive fights. ... Prates (21-7 MMA, 4-1 UFC) suffered his first UFC loss in April by decision against Ian Machado Garry. Prior to that, Prates left a trail of wreckage in stoppages of Trevin Giles, Charles Radtke, Li Jingliang and Neil Magny. Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates UFC 319 expert pick, prediction Filling out the main card is a striker's delight at welterweight between Geoff Neal and Carlos Prates. Aside from this being a tricky southpaw vs. southpaw affair, I'm also a big fan of both fighters, so picking this one was difficult. On one hand, I Neal is a traditionally durable power puncher whose offensive output will keep him as both a knockout and scoring threat for all three frames. So if this fight extends, Neal will probably be live due to Prates' sometimes lower-output approach. However, when looking at past performances of Prates against fellow southpaws, the Fighting Nerds product appears to be incredibly comfortable fighting other lefties – even showing the ability to still find his favored killshots to the liver. I don't like picking against Fortis MMA fighters, but I'll officially side with Prates to score another body-knee knockout by the end of Round 2. Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates UFC 319 odds The oddsmakers and the public favor the Brazilian fighter, listing Prates -235 and Neal +194 via FanDuel. Geoff Neal vs. Carlos Prates UFC 319 start time, how to watch Neal and Prates are expected to walk to the cage at approximately 11:10 p.m. ET. The fight broadcasts live on ESPN+ pay-per-view.
