Since India launched '

' on Wednesday to target terror camps across Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and Pakistan, there have been attacks on districts sharing the border with the neighbouring nation causing loss of lives and injuries to many soldiers and civilians.
If the conflict escalates further, the number of injured may go up and thus the need for immediate medical care. Nadda was also apprised of the actions taken regarding deployment of ambulances; ensuring adequate availability of medical supplies including equipment, medicines, supply of blood vials and consumables; hospital readiness in terms of beds, ICU and HDU; deployment of
BHISHM Cubes
(mobile hospital prototype that was developed in India in the aftermath of the pandemic and Ukraine-Russia), advanced mobile trauma care units etc. 'AIIMS New Delhi and other central government hospitals have mobilised doctors and nurses with supplies for ready deployment. They have been advised to coordinate with state and district administration, armed forces and regional associations of doctors, nurses, paramedics, private sector hospitals, charitable institutions etc., to strengthen the emergency response networks in a collaborative manner,' the officials said.
For capacity building in
emergency healthcare
, the officials added, training modules for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and basic life support are being rolled out with support from Indian Red Cross Society, National Institute of Health & Family Welfare (NIHFW) and AIIMS New Delhi among others. Union health secretary Punya Salila Srivastava apprised about a series of her meetings with states/UTs, and central government hospitals and healthcare institutes for seamless coordination with relevant stakeholders at the centre and within the states for ensuring effective response.
Govt sources said BHISHM cubes are being deployed at AIIMS Jammu and SKIMS Srinagar near India's border to bolster medical readiness. These BHISHM cubes are also being stationed in other Institutes of National Importance (INIs) across India, including AIIMS in Rishikesh, Bilaspur and Delhi, they said.
BHISHM cubes consist of more than 200 boxes/cubes of medical equipment – that can be made used to create a functional medical set up at any spot within 10 minutes. The prototype of this set up was displayed recently at the G20 summit in Gandhinagar. Officials said the prototype has enough medicines and equipment to provide emergency medical aid to more than 200 persons affected in any disaster situation. 'One of the biggest causes for loss of lives in any disaster situation is delayed medical intervention. This mobile hospital unit can help the health specialists or even trained manpower perform blood tests and take x-rays for preliminary diagnosis for medical intervention. It will also have the facility to conduct minor operations, for example removing a portion of the skull to relieve pressure on the underlying brain in case of a head injury,' officials said.

List MBBS students or they will face practise bar: NMC to colleges
NEW DELHI: Cracking the whip, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has said that students who got admission in MBBS course in 2024-25 but whose names are missing from its portal may not be eligible for registration to practise medicine. The National Medical Commission - the apex body for regulating medical education in the country - issued the warning through a public notice after failing to receive the names and basic details of all students admitted to MBBS course in 2024-25 in medical colleges across the country. India has approximately 1.18 lakh MBBS seats. According to NMC, despite issuance of several circulars and public notices over the last eight months, details of only 1,15,250 students admitted for 2024-25 academic year have been received from medical colleges and uploaded on its portal. "Some of the colleges did not upload details of students admitted to MBBS course and some colleges uploaded incomplete data," it said. In the public notice, a copy of which is with TOI, NMC stated that only students whose details have been uploaded on the portal shall be eligible for registration to practise medicine. It has directed students whose names are missing to consult the directorate of medical education concerned or their counselling authority urgently. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Eat 1 Teaspoon Every Night, See What Happens A Week Later [Video] getfittoday Undo The first deadline for submission of details - which include name of medical college, date of admission, student name, their merit number, date of birth and roll number - was Nov 8, 2024. Later, it was extended to Nov 23 and then to Dec 10. Sources said NMC's decision in Oct last year to seek details of all students admitted to MBBS course was prompted by an informal exercise it carried out to double-check that colleges made such admissions in accordance with regulations. The apex body found at least 30-40 instances where students were admitted in breach of rules. For example, a senior official said, even students who obtained less than 50% marks in 10+2 (physics, chemistry, biology) -- a basic criterion -- were granted admission. A senior NMC official highlighted that while granting admission, medical colleges are required to ensure the numbers are not beyond their sanctioned intake capacity. Also, colleges must make sure that students meet eligibility requirements regarding age and qualifying marks. All students admitted to MBBS course are supposed to have cleared NEET-UG with the required percentile: 50th percentile and above for general category, 45th percentile and above for the physically challenged and 40th percentile and above for reserved (SC/ST/OBC) candidates.

Mau's MP-MLA court to hear Ansari plea today
1 2 Varanasi: Disqualified MLA Abbas Ansari's appeal against his sentencing in the 'Hisab kitab' hate speech episode by the CJM (MP-MLA) court was filed before the session court of Mau district on Monday. Ansari's advocate Daroga Singh said that the appeal was moved before the sessions court on Monday, which transferred the case to the court of ADJ (MP-MLA) Rajiv Vats where the hearing will take place on Tuesday. Through this appeal, Ansari challenged the May 31 CJM (MP-MLA) court decision of sentencing him to two years of imprisonment, he added. On the next day of sentencing him by the court, his membership from the state Assembly was terminated. Ansari was sentenced in a case of hate speech lodged against him on March 4, 2022, after his speech delivered at a meeting in the Paharpur area on March 3, 2022, went viral on social media. While contesting the 2022 Assembly polls from the Mau Sadar seat as a Samajwadi Party-Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party alliance candidate, Ansari, in his Paharpur speech on March 3, 2022, stated, "After the formation of the SP-led govt, the officials would have to give 'hisab-kitab' (account) of their work of the past regime before getting transferred. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Costco Shoppers Say This Wrinkle Cream Is "Actually Worth It" The Skincare Magazine Undo " Ansari won the election, but he went to jail following his arrest by the Prayagraj unit of the ED in a money laundering case in Feb 2023. He came out of jail last March. The court, in its 48-page judgment, commented, "The accused has a criminal history and several serious criminal records are also associated with his family members. The family of the accused Abbas Ansari has held the Legislative Assembly seat of Mau Sadar for nearly 20 years. During his election campaign, Abbas Ansari gave a speech from the stage threatening to settle scores with state govt officials after the elections, which could have disrupted communal harmony. Therefore, it does not seem appropriate to give a lesser punishment to the accused."
