Bihar BJP passes resolution criticising anti-Waqf Act stance of opposition

Patna, Jul 2 (PTI) The BJP's Bihar unit on Wednesday passed a resolution criticising the 'appeasement politics' of the Mahagathbandhan helmed by Lalu Prasad's RJD, which has been opposing the Waqf (Amendment) Act that came into force in April.
'These leaders spoke of throwing the Waqf Act into the dustbin. The legislation has been passed by Parliament, and their stance is anti-Constitution. Their stand is in line with the politics of appeasement, much to the detriment of Pasmandas, who have been victims of oppression for centuries', the resolution said.
Pasmanda is an umbrella term encompassing Backward, Dalit, and Adivasi Muslims whom the saffron camp is trying to woo.
The resolution added: 'The BJP will never compromise on the welfare of any section of society. The Waqf (Amendment) Act was an important step in the direction of social reforms taking place in the country. Its benefits will be reaped by the generations to come. We thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the same'.
The resolution also touched upon the Emergency imposed 50 years ago, and alleged that the 'lives of many generations were wasted behind (Indira Gandhi's) slogan 'Garibi Hatao'. It was under Modi that 27 crore people have been able to overcome poverty'.
The resolution also lauded Rajnath Singh for 'giving a strong message to China, while on its soil, against double standards towards terror, by refusing to sign the joint statement at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Defence Minister's meeting'.
The 'Vijay Sankalp Prastav' said, 'This resolution is dedicated to Mother Sita. The Bihar government has sanctioned Rs 882 crore for the development of Punauradham, her place of birth. It is a matter of pride for party workers. After the Ram temple at Ayodhya, the shrine of Sita Mata will be yet another grand symbol of our ancient heritage'.
The 'Vijay Sankalp Prastav' also focused on economic growth in Bihar under NDA rule, besides pointing out the Centre's nod for caste census, which had been an emotive issue in the state that was at the forefront of the Mandal churn. PTI NAC MNB NN

79th Independence Day to be marked with ‘Naya Bharat' theme; PM Modi to lead celebrations at Red Fort
The central government on Wednesday announced 'Naya Bharat" as the theme for the upcoming 79th Independence Day celebrations on August 15. The theme reflects India's ambition to build a prosperous, secure, and self-reliant nation as it moves toward the government's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047, an official statement said. On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the national flag at the historic Red Fort and address the nation. This year, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is the coordinating service for the national event, which will feature a ceremonial Guard of Honour, a 21-gun salute, and a special flypast carrying the national flag and the Operation Sindoor flag. Upon arrival at the Red Fort, PM Modi will be received by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. Then the PM will be introduced to Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the Delhi Area, who will escort him to the Saluting Base for the general salute and Guard of Honour inspection. The Guard of Honour, commanded by Wing Commander AS Sekhon, will comprise 96 personnel, including one officer and 24 members each from the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, and Delhi Police. After inspecting the Guard of Honour, Modi will proceed to the ramparts, where he will be greeted by the Chiefs of the three armed forces and the Chief of the Defence Staff. Flying Officer Rashika Sharma will assist the prime minister in hoisting the tricolour, which will be synchronised with a 21-gun salute from the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial) using indigenous 105mm Light Field Guns. After being hoisted, the tricolour will receive a 'Rashtriya Salute'. The Air Force band, consisting of one JCO and 25 other ranks, will play the national anthem. After the showering of flower petals, the prime minister will address the nation. At the conclusion of his speech, the cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and 'My Bharat' volunteers will sing the National Anthem. A total of 2,500 boy & girl cadets (Army, Navy and Air Force) and 'My Bharat' volunteers will participate in the celebrations. These cadets & 'My Bharat' volunteers will be seated on Gyanpath, opposite the Rampart. They will be forming the 'Naya Bharat' logo. To promote patriotic fervour among citizens and to celebrate the victory of Operation Sindoor, a number of band performances will be conducted pan-India for the first time on the evening of Independence Day celebrations. The performances will be conducted by the bands of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, NCC, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, BSF, IDS, RPF and Assam Rifles at over 140 prominent locations throughout the country. Approx. 5,000 Special Guests from different walks of life have been invited to witness the celebrations at the Red Fort this year. Over 1,500 people from various states/Union Territories dressed in traditional attire have also been invited to witness the grand ceremony.

1 2 Visakhapatnam: The tribal freedom fighters museum at Tajangi Dairy Farm near Lammasingi in Alluri Sitarama Raju district is expected to be ready by the end of the year. The museum's construction, which began four years ago on 22 acres of land allotted by the state govt, was delayed due to a court case. The previous govt had allegedly diverted the funds given by the central govt, leading to a delay in the completion of the project. The construction of the museum was to be completed in two years, but the court case prolonged the process. The TDP-led NDA govt in state has taken up the project as a priority and has removed the legal hurdles. The high court cancelled the stay given earlier, and the authorities are speeding up the works. The central govt had allotted Rs 15 crore for the museum, while the state govt allotted Rs 20 crore. The central govt released Rs 7.5 crore as the first instalment, which was allegedly diverted by the previous govt. The NDA govt has already announced that there is no shortage of funds and has sent the principal secretary of the tribal welfare department to the construction site twice.
