A member of the West Indian men's cricket team has been accused of several counts of rape, sexual assault and harassment, Caribbean news outlets have reported. According to Jamaica's SportsMax TV, the accused cricketer is Guyanese and is part of the current setup, and is facing accusations from no less than 11 women.
No other details regarding the accused cricketer have been made public as yet, and a charge is yet to be filed against him.

The report by SportsMax TV also mentions multiple attempts to cover up the player's alleged actions. They have since reached out to Cricket West Indies (CWI), which has refused to comment on the matter so far.
'Cricket West Indies is unaware of the circumstances and, therefore, is not in a position to comment at this time,' CWI President Kishore Shallow told the Jamaican broadcaster.
Accused cricketer was part of Gabba triumph
SportsMax TV's coverage of the incident cites an article titled 'Monster in Maroon' was published on Guyanese newspaper Kaieteur News on Thursday. Rawle Toney, the author of the piece, alleges that action is yet to be taken by Guyanese authorities against the accused cricketer.
'The allegation was serious and credible. But like so many others, the story began to fade, not because it lacked truth, but because the system wore the survivor down,' read a line from the report.
Lawyer Nigel Hughes, who was approached by one of the victims two years ago, appeared on SportsMax TV and further revealed that the accused cricketer was part of the West Indian squad that pulled off a stunning 8-run victory over Australia at The Gabba in January 2024.
The player had received a 'hero's welcome' back home in Guyana after returning from Australia, Hughes added.
