Shocking! West Indies Cricketer Accused Of Sexual Harassment

Last Updated: An active West Indies men's cricketer has been accused of sexually harassing several women in Guyana. Investigations are ongoing. A West Indies cricketer, part of the national men's team, has been accused of sexual harassment in Guyana. According to SportsMax TV, 'several' victims are claiming an alleged cover-up to protect the victims. An investigation is ongoing in the matter. The media house, in its report, said it reached out to Cricket West Indies (CWI) over the serious accusations. It asked if the board was aware of the allegations, what actions they had taken if they were, and if they were confident that they wouldn't be named in the alleged cover-up investigation. 'Cricket West Indies is unaware of the circumstances and, therefore, is not in a position to comment at this time," CWI President Kishore Shallow was quoted as saying in the report. Guyanese newspaper Kaieteur is said to be the first to bring the issue to light. In its latest report, titled 'Monster in Maroon', the newspaper claimed to have heard accounts from 'no fewer than eleven women, one of them a teenagaer', accusing the cricketer of sexual assault, rape or unwanted sexual advances. Nigel Hughes, the lawyer engaged by the family of one of the alleged victims, spoke to SportsMax TV to give details of the investigation. 'I think you have highlighted that it is a matter of some significant sensitivity. The allegations that were leveled by the victim were leveled 2 years ago, and an investigation was conducted, and we understand that they were recommendations from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to institute charges. You will recall the very famous Test match, which the West Indies won in Australia, occurred at the same time, and the suspect returned together and we have heard nothing since," Hughes said. 'My firm was initially contacted about 2 years ago and then of course, with the more recent allegations, inquiries were made literally yesterday and the day before about what the status of my client's complaint was and we have not been able to obtain any significant information," he added. The West Indies men are currently playing a three-Test series against Australia, the first of which is currently on in Barbados. First Published: June 27, 2025, 12:25 IST

West Indies Star Cricketer Accused Of Sexual Assault, Rape By 11 Women: Report

An unnamed West Indies men's cricketer has been accused of several counts of sexual assault, sexual harrasment and rape, as per reports in West Indies-based media outlets. According to a video report by Caribbean-based SportsMax TV, the cricketer in question is from Guyana and is a part of the current national team setup. Further information in the video report states that the cricketer has been accused by at least 11 women. However, no charge has been filed as of yet against the cricketer. Cricket West Indies (CWI) has also refused to comment on the matter. The report appears to have emerged originally from Guyana-based newspaper Kaieteur Sports. The report further contained this revelation: "I have heard accounts from no fewer than eleven women, one of them a teenager, who allege that they have been sexually assaulted, raped, or subjected to unwanted sexual advances by him." Guys! This incredibly concerning and disconcerting. @windiescricket - do something. Say something. — T (@teecha_) June 26, 2025 As per the subsequent video report, there have also allegedly been significant attempts to cover up the player and his actions. SportsMax TV, which made the video report, reached out to Cricket West Indies asking whether they were aware of the matter, whether there was any investigation in place, and whether there were any attempts to cover-up. This was the response: "Cricket West Indies is unaware of the circumstances and, therefore, is not in a position to comment at this time," CWI President Kishore Shallow was quoted as saying, in the report. As per lawyer Nigel Hughes - who was reached out to by one of the alleged victims two years ago - the player was part of the West Indies squad that famously beat Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane in January 2024. Hughes stated that no charges have been filed against the cricketer by the victims. He also claimed that talk regarding the player's actions died down after he returned to Guyana from the tour of Australia. However, enquiries as recent as a day or two ago have taken place regarding the matter. Hughes also stated that the cricketer received a "hero's welcome" upon returning to Guyana following the West Indies' victory in Australia a year ago.
