ITV Coronation Street's Farrel Hegarty teases Lou Michaelis return and shares her one desire
Coronation Street 's Farrel Hegarty has opened up about her hopes for character Lou Michaelis should she make a comeback to the Cobbles.
The actress is set to depart from the ITV soap just a few months after her first appearance as Lou, who arrived in Weatherfield in February alongside her husband Mick, quickly becoming known as the new 'nightmare neighbours'.
They took up residence on Mawdsley Street, behind Chesney and Gemma Winter-Brown's home, marking the first time Corrie has expanded its drama across the ginnel, with the couple immediately causing a stir.
The plot thickened dramatically when Mick shockingly murdered PC Craig Tinker while on duty, in harrowing scenes broadcast in May which left fans devastated, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.
As viewers reel from Mick's incarceration, it's been revealed that he will stage a daring prison escape leading to a tense hostage situation as he desperately seeks freedom.
While Mick's fate on the show seems sealed, either through fleeing or returning to prison, the details surrounding Lou's departure remain uncertain.
Farrel, also known for her TikTok fame, has shared her feelings about shooting her last scenes, telling Inside Soap: "It was really sad.
"On your last day on set, they give you a little round of applause. Julia [Goulding, aka Shona Platt] is one of my best mates and she popped round the corner. You know when you see your mate and it just makes you upset? I saw her little face and I burst into tears!" Farrel recalled, opening up about her emotional farewell on the set.
When questioned about her ideal storyline for Lou if she were to return, Farrel expressed her wishes: "I would love to see what she's capable of without Mick. They were so dependent on each other, and it was so toxic.
"There's a lot of joy and fun in her and also mischief. Obviously, it wouldn't be strait-laced, would it? She'd go on a rampage!".
Elsehwere, Coronation Street's Mikey North has spoken out about the uncertainty surrounding his character Gary Windass, as fans continue to speculate whether he might be written out of the popular ITV soap.
Mikey, who has portrayed Gary for almost 20 years, expressed concerns over his potential departure. Speaking on This Morning regarding Gary's intense current storyline, Mikey made a light-hearted confession about his time in Weatherfield.
He shared with presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: "Gary's walked out and has gone missing. We find him in hospital in a coma."
Sharon Marshall humorously remarked that Maria often seems to be a 'black widow' on the street, given her history with men. Responding to this, Mikey quipped: "I think I've been with her five or six years counting, so I've probably got about six months left."

Katie Price accused of 'last act of desperation' hours before Princess Andre's show
Katie Price has been accused of trying to steal the limelight back from daughter Princess Andre, as the teen launches her reality TV show tonight Katie Price has been accused of one last act of 'desperation' as she posted a raunchy glamour model shot just hours before her daughter Princess makes her reality TV debut. The star's oldest daughter follows in her mum's footsteps with her own documentary style ITV series The Princess Diaries, but crucially omitted Katie from appearing. After admitting bursting into tears when she found out she'd been 'blacklisted' from a show all about her teen daughter's life, Katie insisted she would not be watching and would not be promoting the show. However, hours before the show's release, fans accused Katie of making a last ditch attempt to steal focus as she posed in an ultra revealing cut-out body suit. It comes after Katie Price worries fans with appearance in family photo after explaining weight loss. In her latest snap, the 47-year-old was seen grabbing her hair back in the seductive shot which appeared to be a throwback to her 'Jordan' modelling heyday. The shot, which was signed off with nothing but a black love heart, sent an immediate frenzy in the comment section. "Why publish this the night before your daughters series due to start smacks of desperation," one fan complained. "Please just stop... it's your daughter's time to shine, embarrassing her again!" eyerolled another. However, other fans insisted Katie was still at the top of her game and wasn't trying to outdo anybody. "She's not suddenly trying to make herself famous," fumed one. Other fans accused Katie of posting an old photo for attention, as they accused her of digging through the archives to post something shocking ahead of Princess' big day. While others were thrilled with the display of Katie's modelling prowess. "There's only one Pricey," insisted one. "I think you look incredible. Late 40s and still got it," agreed another. While a third told her: "You look beautiful Katie... ignore the haters." It comes after the Mirror exclusively unveiled a series of fresh claims about Katie's 'feud' with Princess. Insiders accused Katie of swerving a meet-up with Princess on her 18th birthday so she could carry on partying abroad instead. The mum-of-five had insisted she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party and that her former management team – who look after ex-husband Peter Andre and Princess – did not want her on the show as they considered her 'trash'. Speaking on her podcast, Katie claimed: 'Princess was like 'I'm having a party'. And I wasn't invited because it was for 'filming'.' She added: 'The fact is there's stuff my daughter is doing and I'm not allowed to be seen at any of it.' But insiders claimed her version of events was far from the truth. They said the 18-year-old had arranged to see her mum on the morning of her birthday in June in London – but Katie failed to appear. A source said: 'It was all in the diary but then Katie claimed she couldn't make it as she was abroad. It was disappointing. 'For Katie to then say she was banned from the afternoon's filmed party when she was the no-show in the morning is just beyond belief.' The former Celebrity Big Brother winner was later pictured partying in Ibiza, and then Dubai. She also reportedly accidentally shared a happy birthday Instagram message to Princess – 36 hours before her daughter's big day. Insiders are perplexed by Katie's attempts to 'repeatedly insert herself into her daughter's career'. The model herself claimed: 'I have not been allowed to go on any photoshoots, signings or Superdrug openings or anything like that. I'm not welcome.' But the source said: 'Why is she making this all about her? What sort of person on the eve of her daughter's show, starts throwing all these grenades and believes she knows what's best, and should be given equal billing? It's Princess's life, her career.'
