In April, he treated his fans in the never‑before‑seen avatar of an Ichadaari (shape‑shifting) Naag. The makers have surprised everyone by sharing the motion poster titled Naagzilla. The release date has also been announced and it will be seen in theatres on August 14, 2026. Kartik Aaryan will be playing the role of Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an Ichadaari Naag. Taking to his Instagram handle, Karan Johar shared the motion poster and wrote, 'Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh li, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar! #NaagZilla – Naag lok ka pehla kaand… Funnn phailaane aa raha hai – Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein – 14 August 2026 ko!"

The actor currently has two films on the floor – Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri directed by Sameer Vidhwans and an untitled love story helmed by Anurag Basu – both slated for theatrical release in 2026. Once these wrap, Kartik will move straight into Nagzilla, a quirky entertainer directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Now, according to a Pinkvilla report, Kartik has added yet another big-ticket project to his growing slate — a first-time collaboration with acclaimed filmmaker Shimit Amin, known for Ab Tak Chappan, Chak De! A source close to the development revealed, 'Kartik Aaryan and Shimit Amin have been in conversations for over a year, bouncing around multiple ideas for a potential collaboration. That's when Kartik introduced Shimit to the world of Captain India, and the filmmaker found it to be a fascinating story."
The insider added, 'Shimit Amin has already locked a crisp, engaging screenplay for Captain India and is set to roll cameras with Kartik in the first half of 2026. When Shimit narrated the story, Kartik was immediately hooked. The plan is to shoot extensively in India and Morocco — in fact, the location recce in Morocco has already been completed."
Set against the backdrop of a true story, Captain India will see Kartik Aaryan in the role of an Air Force pilot, marking one of his most intense and patriotic avatars yet. The makers are eyeing a March-to-July 2026 shooting window, with a grand theatrical release targeted for the first half of 2027.
