Gladiators host Ulrika Jonsson has marked one year of sobriety by sharing a before and after selfie - and she looks incredible in both of the snaps. Ulrika Jonsson has hit a significant milestone in her personal journey, celebrating one year of sobriety. The ex-Gladiators presenter took to social media to share her triumph and discuss how staying sober has become her top priority. At 57, Ulrika has been open about her past struggles with alcohol, revealing that she used to "black out and not recall the night". She confessed that drinking was her way of escaping, as it helped suppress her anxiety. "I drank to kill my feelings of anxiety and my fears of everything," she once disclosed. Now, having abstained from alcohol for an entire year, Ulrika is committed to maintaining her sobriety. On Instagram, she posted a comparison photo showcasing her transformation, highlighting the stark contrast between then and now. The first picture, labelled "Sober", shows a radiant Ulrika taking a selfie in her kitchen, bare-faced and sporting large glasses. The second picture captures a "drunk" Ulrika, snapping a raucous selfie in her bathroom following a night out, reports the Mirror. In her heartfelt caption, Ulrika penned: "Today I'm marking 1yr of sobriety. No fanfare, no medal, no trophy. The journey goes on. A huge thanks to all those beautiful people who have supported me; understood me; scooped me up and handled me tenderly and without judgement; who nudged me in the right direction; who made me laugh and helped me shed the crippling shame." Ulrika expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt post, saying: "Thank you to my kids for their support; for having faith in me after I must have worried them so. For close friends for their patience and belief. My sobriety will continue to be my priority. Turns out it IS possible to teach old dogs new tricks." Her post, which garnered over 7,000 likes, was met with an outpouring of support. Former singer and TV personality Kerry Katona wrote: "So bloody proud of you my darling. Miss and love you all the world." Michelle Heaton also chimed in, saying: "So happy for you darling". One fan offered their congratulations, stating: "Well done on the first of many anniversaries of sobriety @ulrikajonssonofficial. You have chosen to be and do better and that is a huge transition and not without its challenges so, all props to you and long may it continue for you to reap the rewards." Another fan shared their own struggles, saying: "Thank you, Ulrika, I'm trying to follow in your footsteps, and posts like this are really affirming. Congratulations on 1 year." A third fan, who has been sober for 5 years and 5 months, exclaimed: "Congratulations! I'm at 5 years and 5 months and it's still the best thing I ever did". Ulrika's journey to sobriety began after a candid conversation with a friend. She revealed: "One Saturday morning my best friend, who I love and cherish, called me and basically told me we had spoken the night before and she hadn't understood a word I had said. "She told me I needed help. I knew it came from a place of love. The sense of shame would have been enough to make me want a drink. But not on that occasion. Instead, I sobbed like a child who desperately needed someone to hold her. I was full of despair."

Beloved Hocus Pocus star looks unrecognizable decades after the Halloween movie premiered
More than three decades after he was skyrocketed into the spotlight by starring in the beloved Halloween movie Hocus Pocus, Omri Katz is now unrecognizable. The actor became a sensation practically overnight after he played Max Dennison in the 1993 Disney flick, the boy who accidentally unleashes the three Sanderson sisters upon Salem, Massachusetts. The film has since become a spooky season staple, and is re-watched by millions every year when fall comes around. But now, 32 years after it premiered, Omri looks pretty different than he did when he captured viewers' hearts as the sarcastic teen in Hocus Pocus. Omri acted in Hocus Pocus when he was only 16-years-old, and he quickly became a heartthrob thanks to his charming personality and handsome looks. Now 48, his long, brown locks are a lot shorter, and he's got a lot more facial hair. Omri started acting when he was only seven, starring as John Ross Ewing III in the show Dallas. He also acted in the show Eerie, Indiana and the TV movie Adventures in Dinosaur City before landing his role in Hocus Pocus. But now, 32 years after it premiered, Omri looks pretty different than he did when he captured viewers' hearts as the sarcastic teen in Hocus Pocus After that, he continued to act, starring in The John Larroquette Show, the flick Dallas: J.R. Returns, and the short film Journey Into Night. But his last role was in 2002, and after that, he left the spotlight. Now, it appears that he operates his own cannabis company and often attends conventions with other Hocus Pocus stars. He also sells personalized videos to fans on Cameo for $60. He is currently dating a woman named Michele Watters. Omri was not part of the sequel, Hocus Pocus 2, which was released in 2022 on Disney+. Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy all reprised their roles as Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson. Doug Jones, who played the role of Billy Butcherson in the original film, also returned for the sequel. Back in 2022, Omri reflected on his time in the film - and revealed that he was high during many scenes of the cult classic. He told Entertainment Weekly that filming took place when he was 'at an age where he started experimenting with cannabis.' 'Let's just say, some of those scenes, I was having a good old time,' he joked. While he didn't remember which scenes specifically he was high in, he added: 'I'll tell you what I do remember: I was mis-performing and not hitting my keys or marks.' He said the director Kenny Ortega came up to him during one scene and 'practically' grabbed him by the shirt, and said, 'Are you high?' Omri said that he told the director 'no,' adding 'but of course, I was.' 'We got it done, but that was kind of a wake-up call, like, Omri, you've got to be a little more professional and make sure you hit your cues,' he said.
