‘Do you want me to send a child out of the stadium?': Emma Raducanu argues with umpire over crying child
Media reports of the game noted that Raducanu was first distracted — and then angered — by the constant wailing of the child from the stands and consequently tried to tell the chair umpire to act and shut out the noise. The incident happened during the eighth game in the deciding set, when the British tennis ace was preparing to serve.
It was a request that the chair umpire was not too keen to heed.
'It's been like 10 minutes,' Raducanu can be heard complaining to the umpire in a video that's now gone viral.
'It's a child, do you want me to send a child out of the stadium?' the chair umpire snapped back.
At this, plenty of fans can be heard agreeing as Raducanu points at them as if to say that the request is justified.

The 22-year-old eventually lost to the battle to Sabalenka by a 7-6 (7-3) 4-6 7-6 (7-5) scoreline.
It must be noted that the crying child was not the only loud noise emanating from the stands.
The BBC noted that the British tennis player was guided throughout the match by her new coach Francisco Roig. At one point, he was heard telling the British player, 'You're better than her.' The BBC report also noted that Roig, who helped Rafael Nadal claim a majority of his 22 Grand Slam titles, offered insights throughout the match about the pattern of Raducanu's serve and the shape of her forehand.

Bronzetti raised her game and had a break point at 2-2, only to send a backhand return long as Gauff managed to hold. The second set was a more competitive affair but Bronzetti double-faulted twice when serving to stay in the match and Gauff went on to break and secure victory. "For the most part I played aggressive," said Gauff, who won the Cincinnati Open in 2023 before going on to win the US Open that year. "Maybe there were a couple that were a little bit passive in some of those games but it's tough - the balls are super light and she wasn't giving me much pace. "I was just trying to play controlled but also aggressive and, for the most part, I think I did well." Coco Gauff eased past Lucia Bronzetti on Thursday to book a Cincinnati Open quarter-final meeting with Jasmine Paolini, although the American showed signs of some minor rust after receiving a bye in the previous round. It's tough because the ball really flies and she was giving me no pace. "I had chances (when she lost serve) but I missed a couple of balls. I was still able to close it out." Italy's Paolini needed just over 70 minutes to see off Krejcikova, with the Czech player seemingly struggling with her movement. "I think she wasn't at 100 percent, but she's an unbelievable player," said the seventh seed. "She can put the ball wherever she wants every time, I don't know how she does this. But I'm happy that I tried to stay there mentally until the last point." Gauff and Paolini have met four times in the past, sharing two victories apiece. However, 2023 US Open champion Gauff has the edge over Paolini on hard court.
