KATIE Radford has rushed her nine-month-old baby to hospital and shared a very important reminder to all parents.
Just days after the 22-year-old broke her silence on her split from her father's child Connor Carter, the mum-of-one urgently rang 111 for advice regarding her ill child.

Nine months after giving birth to her 'absolute dream baby', Katie noticed her son Ronnie Hudson Carter, who was born on 8th October 2024, was 'unsettled.'
And after 'being sent to hospital' and her son receiving a shocking diagnosis, Katie, who is a member of Britain's Biggest Family and stars in the hit Channel 5 show 22 Kids & Counting, has urged parents to 'always listen to your gut.'
Posting on social media, on her Instagram stories, the brunette, who found out she was pregnant after being with Connor for six years, uploaded a snap of her youngster in a hospital bed.
Alongside the picture, the eighth Radford child penned: 'Thank you everyone for all your messages.
'I rang 111 as he was so unsettled this morning, nothing would calm him down other than a bath.'
Alongside a crying emoji, she continued: 'They have said he's got shingles.'
Shingles, also known as herpes zoster, is a viral infection that causes a painful rash.
While it's more common in adults, babies and children can also get it.
It's caused by the varicella-zoster virus, the same virus that causes chickenpox.
After a person has chickenpox, the virus can lie dormant in their nervous system and later reactivate as shingles.
Mum-of-22 Sue Radford MISSED 'scared' 21-year-old daughter's birth as Noel booked posh Dubai break at £400 a night hotel
Following this, the third eldest Radford daughter shared a message for parents, as she warned: 'Let this be your reminder to ALWAYS listen to your gut.
'I [saw] two doctors and got told it was nothing.
'Then after today being sent to hospital they've said it's shingles!!!'
Can babies get shingles?
IT is more common for babies to have chickenpox, and while they can get shingles, it is rare.
For a baby to get shingles, they must have had chickenpox in the past (even in the womb), or they were exposed to the virus during pregnancy or shortly after birth.
If the baby's mother had chickenpox late in pregnancy, the baby may have been exposed and developed a mild case, allowing the virus to lie dormant.
If a baby got chickenpox in early infancy, the virus could later reactivate as shingles.
Signs of shingles in babies include; a localised rash on one side of the body, often in a stripe pattern; blisters that scab over in seven to 10 days and pain or irritability, although babies can't express nerve pain clearly.
Chicken pox vs Shingles
In the UK, chickenpox is particularly common in childhood.
According to the UK Health Security Agency, about half of children have had chickenpox by age 4, and 90% by age 10.
While most cases occur in children, infants under four weeks old are at higher risk for complications.
But when it comes to shingles in young children, according to Pharmacy Times, for every 1,000 children observed over the course of one year, about 0.74 cases of shingles occur.
Katie's sly dig
Katie's post regarding her son's rush to hospital and shock diagnosis comes just nine days after she shared a sly dig online about people making 'no effort.'
After removing all trace of her child's father from her Instagram and sparking concern amongst fans that she and Connor had separated, Katie posted a brutal poke at those who haven't been present with her son.
Posting on TikTok, Katie uploaded a video with the caption 'Only them missing out not Ron ❤️.'
Alongside the clip, she wrote: 'One of the most hurtful things as a mum is seeing people who you thought would see your kid all the time make little to no effort.'

Shortly after posting the 31-second clip, Katie confirmed: 'Just to clarify this isn't about his dad, he still sees his dad 🥰.'
Connor Carter then flocked to the comments and wrote: 'Only needs the people who bother.. he won't be missing out on anything/anyone.
'My little man will be surrounded by the ones he needs💙'
Let this be your reminder to ALWAYS listen to your gut
Katie Radford
The discussion on Katie and Connor's split began back in May, when the Radford family spent time in Florida on an extravagant £52,000 family trip to celebrate Sue Radford's 50th birthday.
The Lancashire-based brood had a sun-soaked extravaganza in the US and alongside the Radford youngsters, Millie was joined by her husband Harley Passmore.
Katie posed on the beach whilst on the trip, but Connor was nowhere to be seen in snaps shared on the family's Instagram account.

Connor's fears on being a "young dad"
Not only this, but previously, on an episode of the family's TV show, emotional scenes documented the moment then 21-year-old Connor found out he was going to become a father.
Clearly in disbelief, Connor admitted: 'I didn't think I'd ever be a young dad…scared.'
To this, Katie recognised: 'It is a big change. I'm scared. I don't think anyone's ever ready for a kid.'

Connor then confessed: 'I don't really do well with change, I don't like it. I'm still a kid, I've not grown up yet.
'I don't think I'm ready now, I don't think in five years time I'd be ready, but it's something that's going to have to change really.
And whilst pram shopping with dad-of-22 Noel, 54, Connor explained: 'I can't imagine pushing a pram, it just feels a bit weird.
The Radford Family's TV history
THE first ever episode of 22 Kids and Counting aired on Channel 5 on 22nd February, 2021.
After the first series - which had just four episodes in it - performed well, Channel 5 commissioned a 10-episode second season, which was broadcast in 2022.
They went on to commission a third series, which included a Christmas special aired in December 2023.
The fourth season began airing in January 2024, but fans were left disappointed when it stopped after six episodes.
Sue and Noel reassured viewers that they were just taking a little break, and the next episode will be airing on 21st July.
You can catch up on all previous episodes of 22 Kids and Counting on My 5, here.
'I thought I was a few years off this yet. Didn't expect it to be honest.
'I didn't ever think I'd be here to be honest, not for a few years.

My wife's incurable cancer started with a ‘Mounjaro side effect' – now she's got months left to live

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A MUM thought symptoms of her incurable cancer were a side effect of Mounjaro weight loss jabs - now she's been given months to live. Dawn Clegg, 51, began suffering from chest pain in late March this year after taking the jabs to help deal with her diabetes. She had several X-rays at the hospital, which showed shadows on her lungs, kidneys, and breast. Dawn was later diagnosed with a rare soft-tissue cancer known as sarcoma. She was told the growths on her breast and kidney were benign, but the one on her lungs was sarcoma, which makes up just one per cent of all known cancers. There are more than 100 known sarcomas and Dawn's doctors have been unable to precisely identify the type she has - making treatment challenging. Dawn was given less than a year to live. Now her heartbroken husband Arron Clegg, 51, is planning to hold a "living wake" in November to celebrate the life of his wife. Arron said: "She went to Lancaster Hospital A&E at the end of March with chest pains which she thought were a side effect of Mounjaro which she was taking to help with her diabetes. "X rays showed shadows on lung, kidney and breast. "We were devastated on hearing news of cancer in these areas - there is no cure and she is now terminal. I thought my sore knee was a drunken injury but it was cancer at 27 "The wake will mean she can spend quality time with friends and family whilst still alive rather than after the funeral that way she can see how much people care about her." Dawn, a receptionist with Bay Medical Group who's mum to 19-year-old George, started taking Mounjaro to help with her diabetes. When she noticed tightness in her chest, she initially thought it was a side effect from the jabs. She had multiple X-rays, which found shadows in her lungs, breasts, and kidney. The next day Dawn was "called back" to hospital where they were informed the growths could be cancerous. Tests which showed the cancer on her breast was benign and her kidney "wasn't a big issue", but she was given the "devastating" news that the cancer on her lungs was sarcoma. The symptoms of sarcoma cancer The most common symptom of soft tissue sarcoma is a lump somewhere on the body. But this doesn't necessarily mean cancer - there are all sorts of reasons for lumps and swellings, but it must always be checked by a GP. The lump is usually found deep under the skin and might be felt before it can be seen. The lump is usually solid to the touch, painless and hard to move around under the skin. It will continue to grow and as it does, it can become painful. Other symptoms depend on where in the body the lump is. These can include: Tummy pain and constipation if there is a sarcoma near the tummy A cough that does not go away if there is a sarcoma near the lungs Source: NHS Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer that develops in the supporting tissues of the body, including bone, cartilage, tendons, fat, and muscle. Arron said: "The doctors don't even know what type of sarcoma it is four months later. "Sarcoma makes up 1 per cent of known cancers and on top of that there are over 100 sarcomas, so finding the right treatment is extremely hard. "She is now terminal and there is a high chance she won't make her fifty-second birthday next year." Dawn began receiving chemotherapy at Clatterbridge in Liverpool but Arron has said "there is more chance of it not working than slowing it down". Following Dawn's diagnosis Arron is now hoping to organise a "living wake" – a joyful celebration of her life surrounded by friends and family while she is still with them. Arron hopes to invited around 100 of his wife's closest family and friends to enjoy a final evening together. Arron said: "Dawn means the world to me. "We went to school together and started dating after we found each other years later and have been married nearly 10 years. 'Dawn is an amazing person; not very patient and yet with this illness she has surprised us both with her patience whilst they tried to find a treatment. "She is the best person I ever knew and the wake will mean the world to her." Arron has started a crowdfunding to help pay for the costs of the wake, which will take place on November 29, and Dawn's funeral. When the time comes, Dawn will be laid to rest near her late daughter Isobel, who died in childbirth. Two NHS drugs slows and could REVERSE devastating Alzheimer's, ‘exciting' study finds

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) TWO NHS drugs could be combined to treat, and even reverse, the most common form of dementia, scientists claim. A pair of cancer drugs have been identified as a powerful duo that may tackle Alzheimer's disease, after scientists sifted through 1,300 approved medicines. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Alzheimer's was reversed in mice Credit: Alamy The American team used cutting-edge computer tools to match the gene changes seen in Alzheimer's patients with medicines that reverse those effects. They found that two cancer drugs, both already available on the NHS, reduced brain degeneration in mice with the disease, and even brought back their memory. The study, from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), first looked at how Alzheimer's alters the activity of individual brain cells. They then searched for existing drugs that trigger the opposite changes, with the aim of rewiring damaged neurons and brain cells called glia. And when they tested the top two candidates, letrozole and irinotecan, in lab mice, the results were impressive. One theory of how Alzheimer's comes about is that sticky proteins - like amyloid-beta - start clumping together in the brain years before symptoms appear. These toxic clumps block communication between brain cells and trigger inflammation, eventually causing the cells to die. Some scientists believe this buildup is the root cause of Alzheimer's, so clearing it could stop the disease in its tracks. When combined, the cancer drugs not only halted brain cell damage but also undid toxic clumps of proteins, restored memory and reversed the disease's genetic footprint. Prof Marina Sirota, senior author, said: 'We're excited that our computational approach led us to a potential combination therapy for Alzheimer's based on existing FDA-approved medications.' Common painkiller used for back pain ups risk of dementia by 29%, scientists warn She added: 'Alzheimer's disease comes with complex changes to the brain, which has made it tough to study and treat — but our tools opened up the possibility of tackling that complexity directly.' The scientists then trawled through the anonymised medical records of 1.4million over-65s and found those already taking the cancer drugs were less likely to develop Alzheimer's. Dr Yaqiao Li, the study's lead author, said: 'Thanks to all these existing data sources, we went from 1,300 drugs, to 86, to 10, to just five. 'In particular, the rich data collected by all the UC health centres pointed us straight to the most promising drugs. It's kind of like a mock clinical trial.' Letrozole is typically used to treat breast cancer, while irinotecan is prescribed for colon and lung cancer. Both are already used in the UK. 'So exciting' Prof Yadong Huang, co-senior author, said: 'Alzheimer's is likely the result of numerous alterations in many genes and proteins that, together, disrupt brain health. 'This makes it very challenging for drug development - which traditionally produces one drug for a single gene or protein that drives disease.' He added: 'It's so exciting to see the validation of the computational data in a widely used Alzheimer's mouse model.' The breakthrough, published in the journal Cell, could fast-track trials in humans. Prof Sirota said: 'If completely independent data sources, such as single-cell expression data and clinical records, guide us to the same pathways and the same drugs and then resolve Alzheimer's in a genetic model then maybe we're onto something.' She added: 'We're hopeful this can be swiftly translated into a real solution for millions of patients with Alzheimer's.' Alzheimer's causes a relentless decline in cognition, learning, and memory. But decades of research have only produced two FDA-approved drugs, neither of which can meaningfully slow the decline. In the UK, no disease-modifying drugs are currently approved or available. Instead, the UK relies on symptom-managing drugs, such as Donepezil and Rivastigmine.

FLYING OFF SHELVES Elated consumers have called the mask "amazing" and "brilliant", with one happy customer saying it's left her feeling like a million dollars. Would definitely buy again and recommend." While another added: "This face mask is amazing! Smells fab, goes on and dries lovely and then leaves your skin feeling a million dollars! So soft and hydrated." A third said: "Brilliant deep cleaning for your skin without drying out my dry skin". Shoppers run to Primark for £6 home staple that's giving Barbie Dream House BEAUTY BARGAINS This isn't the first time Home Bargains has cut the price of luxury products. Earlier this month, TikTok user Dani, from the account Emilia and Dani's Diary, shared her joy after stumbling across a shelf full of viral goodies at a fraction of their original price. The bargain retailer was spotted selling Mallows Beauty products. The TikToker said: 'I've been wanting to try this brand for ages, so I'm so happy I've found it here." Mallows Beauty, the self-love promoting, vegan skincare brand is usually stocked in the likes of Boots, Superdrug and Urban Outfitters. But Dani spotted the pastel-packaged products in Home Bargains for as little as £2.99. Among the steals were Mallows Beauty's Body Butter, priced at £3.99 instead of the recommended retail price (RRP) of £20.95 – that's more than 80 per cent off. Also on the shelf was the Watermelon Body Scrub for £3.99, down from £19.95. HOW TO GRAB A BARGAIN Shopping expert Tom Church, co-founder of the website, said you'll find the best offers at the front of your local branch. He said: "Unlike shops such as TK Maxx, Home Bargains doesn't keep their reduced items at the back of the shop. "Make sure you scan all the shelves as soon as you enter so you don't miss the best bargains by assuming discounted items are tucked away at the back of the shop." It's not just about keeping your eyes peeled at the front of the store, make sure you turn your eyes downwards when you're walking around as well. Tom said often shops put their best value items on the shelf closest to the floor, and Home Bargains is no different. He added: "That way you're more likely to miss them and buy the more expensive option that's at eye level. "Often the best deals will be by the door to lure you in."
