FBC: Firebreak headlines June's PS Plus additions
Remedy's multiplayer spin on Control is coming to the PlayStation Game Catalog. Sony's June PS Plus additions start with the day-one arrival of FBC: Firebreak . Other entries this month include the latest Battlefield entry and sticky-ball Katamari fun.
FBC: Firebreak lets you and up to two others team up to kick some Hiss ass. Play as a government employee who volunteered to take out extra-dimensional monsters. But the wicked delights really kick in when you enhance your plain ol' guns with supernatural gear.
In our preview, Engadget's Jessica Conditt saw a promising and "incredibly fun" shooter that only needed a bit of fine-tuning before launch. " Firebreak is poised to be a thoughtful and focused entry in the co-op shooter genre, and it's already an inviting extension of Remedy's darkest and silliest sensibilities," she wrote.
FBC: Firebreak will be available in the Game Catalog on its launch day, June 17. You'll need a PS Plus Extra or Premium membership to claim it.
Also coming on that date is Battlefield 2042 . This could be a good time to catch up on the franchise before its next installment. (It's expected by April 2026.) Also arriving this month is We Love Katamari Reroll + Royal Reverie . Who doesn't love rolling a satisfyingly growing blob of random shit?
Both of those titles require a PS Plus Extra or Premium membership. Ditto for other June entries like Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 and theHunter: Call of the Wild . Meanwhile, the 2000 classic Deus Ex: The Conspiracy will only be available for Premium subscribers. You can check out the PlayStation blog for the complete list.

I'm Excited to Play Remedy's FBC: Firebreak and Other Games on Xbox Game Pass
In 2019, Remedy Entertainment released the mind-bending, Kafkaesque game Control. At the time, I loved the idea of a bureaucratic office turned into a violent battlefield filled with office supplies -- like a floppy disk -- that can give you special abilities. So I'm excited to return to that world in FBC: Firebreak when it arrives on Xbox Game Pass on June 17. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a CNET Editors' Choice award pick, offers hundreds of games you can play on your Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC or mobile device for $20 a month. A subscription gives you access to a large library of games, with new titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 added monthly, plus other benefits, such as online multiplayer and deals on non-Game Pass titles. Read more: Play Classic Games From the '80s and '90s on Xbox Game Pass Now Here are all the games Microsoft is adding to Game Pass in June. You can also check out all the titles the company added to the service in May, like Metaphor: ReFantazio. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Master Crafted Edition Game Pass Standard and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play now. You are Capt. Demetrian Titus, an Ultramarine in the Imperium of Man, and it's up to you and your squad to help reclaim the Forge World Graia from an Ork horde. Originally released in 2011, this third-person shooter has been remastered for modern consoles with enhanced character models, a modernized control scheme and more. So grab your chainsword and bolter, and get ready to fight. For the Emperor! Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Editions Game Pass Standard and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play now. Gather your party and get ready to go on some epic quests in the enhanced editions of these classic roleplaying games. These games are set in the Forgotten Realms setting of the popular tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons, and each game contains its own story and adventure. In Baldur's Gate, you'll investigate an iron crisis that is plunging the land into war. Baldur's Gate 2 takes place shortly after the initial game and revolves around a mysterious power within your character. Can you resist this power, or will you become the new Lord of Murder? Kingdom: Two Crowns (PC) Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play now. In this 2D adventure strategy game, you have to build up your kingdom during the day to secure it from a threat called the Greed that attacks at night. You'll then conquer far-off lands in order to put a stop to the Greed threat once and for all. Barbie Project Friendship Game Pass Standard, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play now. The Malibu Waves Community Center was a once-thriving destination, but now it's in danger of being closed forever. You'll play as Barbie and Barbie -- that's two different Barbies -- as you work to bring your friends and neighbors together to help save the center. You can explore Malibu, work at the pet salon and enjoy the skate park solo or with a friend in local co-op mode. EA Sports FC 25 Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play now. Get ready to make league history in the latest installment of this EA Sports franchise (formerly FIFA). You can become the manager of your favorite football club and shape the team into a dynasty in Career Mode, or team up with friends and take on others in the new 5v5 Rush mode. And with this edition, you can also get the Supercharge Pack -- which includes 11 Rare Gold Players and other perks -- until July 12. The Alters Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play this game on June 13. You're stranded on a hostile planet, and the only way forward is to create alternate versions of yourself. The other versions of you will gather supplies and build your base, and you'll have to attend to their survival needs. And while you're trying to survive, this sci-fi survival game also comes with a side of existentialism: It asks whether we shape our destiny or it shapes us? FBC: Firebreak Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play this game on June 17. The Federal Bureau of Control is under attack from otherworldly forces, and it's up to you and your versatile unit to restore order. You'll fight chaotic entities, leeches and a monster made of sticky notes using guns, grenades and other supernatural weapons. You can play this first-person shooter game on your own, or take on the chaos of the FBC with friends in three-player co-op. Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time Game Pass Standard, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play on June 17. The jean-shorts-wearing marsupial is back in this time-shattering, platforming adventure. Neo Cortex and N. Tropy are launching an all-out assault on the entire multiverse. It's up to Crash and his sister Coco to bend the rules of reality and recover the Quantum Masks in order to save reality. Lost in Random: The Eternal Die Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers can play this game on June 17. You're the once-great ruler of Random, Queen Aleksandra, and you're on a mission of vengeance and redemption in this fast-paced rogue-like game. You'll fight monsters and beasts with four unique weapons, plus powerful card-based abilities and relics. But death isn't final here, so if you fall, you'll return to Sanctuary to rearm, upgrade and prepare for your next run. Games leaving Game Pass on June 15 While Microsoft is adding those games to Game Pass soon, it will remove seven games from the service on June 15. That means you still have time to complete your campaign and any sidequests before you have to buy these games separately. For more on Xbox, discover other games available on Game Pass now, read our hands-on review of the gaming service and learn which Game Pass plan is right for you. ‘Stellar Blade' Crushes PlayStation PC Record With 183,000 Concurrents
Stellar Blade SHIFT UP Finally having broken free of PlayStation exclusivity, 2024 actioner Stellar Blade has absolutely dominated all other former PS exclusives that eventually headed to PC. As we speak, now having launched in all regions, Stellar Blade appears to have peaked at 183,830 players on Steam. Great by any metric, but especially in the context of other PlayStation PC releases. This is double the previous single-player record-holder, the 77,000 of Ghost of Tsushima, and as we head to the weekend, who knows if it could eventually triple that. Here's a list of the other major PC releases from Sony: Stellar Blade SHIFTUP The difference is that some of these are years later rather than just over a year like Stellar Blade, but there's just no question this is a stunning launch from SHIFTUP's game. Although on Sony's end, they do not own this IP, and the future of the franchise's partnership with PlayStation is nebulous. A sequel has been confirmed, likely for 2027, according to a recent SHIFTUP presentation. The major exception to this PlayStation list is if we break out of single-player only games and include Helldivers 2, which dwarfs them all with its 458,709 peak. Even now, after a big recent update, it's still doing 100,000 players a night, and it has a bigger playerbase on PC than on PlayStation. Stellar Blade announced 1 million sales in a month after release, and I imagine we may be in for some sales news shortly from this PC release, which is clearly going great. The game is unsurprisingly the #1 seller on Steam right now. A new content pack dropped with this port, but besides that, I have to believe that a recent free demo of the game convinced many to pick up the full copy. As for me, I highly recommend the game. It was one of my favorites of 2024, and I sunk 50 hours into two playthroughs (NG+ is very well-handled in the game). Since I put it down, the game has added some gameplay updates, things like photo mode and what has to be approaching 100 new outfits by now (I'm not even sure that's an exaggeration). Above all else, it's just a really fun action game, and I'm looking forward to the sequel. Give it a try yourself if you didn't snag it on PlayStation. Sony Stock Dips as Bend Studio Lays Off Game Developers
Sony (SONY) stock slipped on Wednesday after the video game developer confirmed layoffs at Days Gone developer Bend Studio. The entertainment company didn't say how many employees were affected, but reports claim roughly a third of the studio's approximately 150 members were laid off. Confident Investing Starts Here: Easily unpack a company's performance with TipRanks' new KPI Data for smart investment decisions Receive undervalued, market resilient stocks right to your inbox with TipRanks' Smart Value Newsletter The Sony layoffs came after the company canceled a Bend Studio live-service game that was in development. The concept for the game was finished, but Sony pulled the plug on it earlier this year. That came around the same time a game being developed by Sony studio Blue Point was also canceled. Days Gone fans worried about the fate of Bend Studio have nothing to fear. Sony said these layoffs 'better position the studio for long-term success' and that it remains 'confident in its future and creative direction.' SONY Stock Movement Today SONY stock slipped 0.52% as of Wednesday afternoon, but remains up 23.18% year-to-date. Bend Studio is only one of several game developers under the PlayStation brand. That, combined with the limited nature of the layoffs, explains why SONY stock didn't experience a more significant impact from today's job cut news. Bend Studio also lacks the big-name successes of other PlayStation studios, such as Naughty Dog or Insomniac. Is Sony Stock a Buy, Sell, or Hold? Turning to Wall Street, the analysts' consensus rating for Sony is Strong Buy, based on three Buy and one Hold rating over the past three months. With that comes an average SONY stock price target of $29, representing a potential 11.26% upside for the shares. Spark, TipRanks' AI analyst, rates Sony an Outperform (79) with no price target. The AI analyst points to a 'strong financial performance with robust growth and efficient operations' as a reason for the bullish stance.
