Anna Cathcart as Kitty and Sang Heon Lee as Min-ho in XO Kitty Netflix
Kitty's journey in Seoul is far from over. Netflix has officially greenlit XO, Kitty for a third season. Fittingly, given the show's focus on romance, Anna Cathcart, who plays the lead role, received the renewal news on Valentine's Day. The announcement follows the Season 2 premiere on January 16.
Showrunner Jessica O'Toole teased what's ahead, hinting at how the show will resolve the Season 2 cliffhanger—where Kitty impulsively joins Min Ho (Sang Heon-lee) on a summer trip with his father and brother. Seasons 1 and 2 followed Kitty's junior year at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), spanning two semesters. Season 3 is expected to pick up from there, but not before a brief summer detour.
O'Toole said, as quoted by Deadline, 'I'm so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait. I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.'
XO, Kitty Season 2 made a strong debut, landing at #2 on Netflix's English TV list with 14.2 million views, surpassing the premiere numbers of The Night Agent Season 2. The buzz even brought Season 1 back into the Top 10, while To All the Boys I've Loved Before resurfaced in Netflix's English films ranking.
Produced by Awesomeness Studios and ACE Entertainment, Season 2 saw Kitty return to KISS for a new semester, determined to avoid drama and meddling in love lives. But a letter from her mother's past set her on an unexpected path, shifting not just her romantic prospects but possibly her future ambitions.
The release date for Season 3 has yet to be announced.

Netflix Drops Meghan and Harry: $100M Deal Ends Without Renewal

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's highly publicized multi-year deal with Netflix—reportedly worth $100 million—will not be renewed when it expires this September, according to reports from The Sun. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex originally signed the deal in 2020 to produce a range of content for the streaming platform, including documentaries and lifestyle programming. A source confirmed to PEOPLE that the decision not to extend the deal reflects a broader shift in Netflix's content strategy, which has moved away from big-budget, multi-project agreements. The source also emphasized that there is 'no animosity' between either party and that the collaboration has 'just run its course.' Despite the non-renewal, future partnerships remain possible. Meghan's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan is set to return for a second season this fall, and the Duchess's lifestyle brand As Ever, which launched in collaboration with Netflix, continues to perform well with several sold-out product drops. The couple's past projects under Netflix had mixed results. Their 2022 docuseries Harry & Meghan remains the most-watched documentary debut on the platform. However, recent projects like Polo saw lower viewership numbers. Industry insiders note that Netflix achieved its goal by securing the headline-making early content from the couple—content that may have marked the peak of public interest in their media ventures.

Tunisian mystery thriller film ‘Agora' to screen at Zawya Cinema

Slim's third feature fiction, the film focuses on a remote town in Tunisia where missing people return after many years. Tunisian filmmaker Ala Eddine Slim's latest feature, Agora, is set to screen at Cairo's Zawya Cinema with English subtitles, offering audiences a suspense-filled experience that blends mystery with social reflection. The screenings are scheduled for Thursday, July 24, at 4:30 pm, Saturday, July 26, at 7:00 pm, and Tuesday, July 29, at 7:00 pm. A French-Tunisian co-production, Agora is backed by the Red Sea Fund and produced by Julie Viez's Cinenovo in collaboration with Slim's Exit Productions. The film secured 80% of its $743,000 budget, underscoring strong international interest in the project. Agora explores a mysterious phenomenon in a remote Tunisian town where people who had gone missing for years suddenly return. These returnees stir tensions among families and the wider community, prompting local police inspector Fathi and his doctor friend Amine to investigate. The situation becomes increasingly strange and complex, particularly with the arrival of Omar, a police inspector from the capital, who attempts to unravel the mystery. Slim describes Agora as a reflection on the past, resurfacing painful memories and societal failures. The film delves into themes of family and community conflict, and the tension between urban life and nature. Slim emphasises the symbolic significance of the city's public square, where key decisions about the returnees are made. The film also features a visual narrative with special effects and makeup, blending elements of a thriller and investigative story. Slim, who also produced the film, sees Agora as a continuation of his previous works, exploring recurring motifs such as the city, the forest and animals. The film addresses contemporary issues such as economic, social, health and security challenges, mirroring the complex realities of today's Tunisia.
