Young Mets fan shares wholesome reaction after earning 'Kidcaster' invitation to SNY booth
Wearing a glove, a Francisco Alvarez jersey, a matching 2024 City Connect cap and eye black that covered most of his face, Veneziano looked like he belonged on the diamond.

He was moments from learning he's actually headed to the booth ... as this year's SNY "Kidcaster."
Veneziano gently waved as his faint "Hi, Steve" was picked up on the SNY mic.
"Hey, Antonio, what's up, man?" Gelbs said.
While shaking Gelbs hand, Veneziano's head swung like Francisco Lindor's bat, with his mouth gaping in complete shock. Then it came back like a yo-yo as he exclaimed, "Oh my God! He knows my name."
Gelbs put his arm around Veneziano's shoulder and said, "I do know your name. You want to know why I know your name?"

Of course, Veneziano wanted that answer.
Not even halfway through Gelbs delivering it, Veneziano could have finished the rest of the sentence.
"Would you like to be the 'Kidcaster' with Gary [Cohen], Keith [Hernandez] and Ron [Darling] on July 22?"
Without hesitation, Veneziano took the offer.
"I would love to," he said with emotion shaking his voice. "Really?"
Gelbs confirmed this was really happening and praised Veneziano's audition, which he said featured some "pretty spectacular" home run calls. Gelbs then asked if Veneziano could give viewers a sneak peek. He obliged and gave his best play-by-play narration of a Lindor dinger to right field.

It was a wholesome moment halfway through the first game of New York's doubleheader against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday. The Mets lost 7-2, but Veneziano still came out a winner.
According to Gelbs, Veneziano emerged as SNY's "Kidcaster" despite a record number of entries.
The Kidcaster program invites one fan ages 9-12 every year to call an inning of a Mets game alongside SNY's announcers.

Mr. Zwillman said 'the actual factual allegations more mirrored what is considered a disorderly persons offense in New Jersey.' Mr. Busey, Mr. Zwillman added, had pleaded guilty to the charge that corresponded to 'touching the buttocks of a female over the clothing.' He said that Mr. Busey had faced a maximum sentence of five years' probation and a $500 fine but that he would plan to ask that he only be fined. 'He is an out-of-state resident, he is elderly, he has got some difficulties, physical and otherwise,' he said, citing what he said was a traumatic brain injury that Mr. Busey had suffered in a 1988 motorcycle accident. 'He is not coming back to New Jersey too soon.' Mr. Busey initially denied the charges. Speaking to a reporter from the celebrity news website TMZ shortly after the charges were filed in 2022, he said that 'none of that happened.' 'They made up this story that I assaulted them sexually when I did not,' he said. 'Nothing happened. Nothing. It was all false.' In 2002, a lawyer for the convention's organizers, Nikitas Moustakas, told reporters that Mr. Busey had been removed from the premises after others at the event complained about him. Mr. Moustakas said the event organizers had encouraged Mr. Busey's accusers to file police reports. Mr. Busey earned an Oscar nomination for his starring role as the title character in the 1978 film 'The Buddy Holly Story.' His other movie credits include 'Lethal Weapon' and 'D.C. Cab.' His career eventually waned as he struggled with substance abuse. In 2008 he appeared on a rehabilitation-themed reality show, 'Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.' In 2019, he starred in 'Only Human,' an Off Broadway musical in which he played the role of God.

Demi Lovato is gearing up for the release of her ninth studio album. The hit-making singer released her previous LP Holy Fvck in 2022, marking a return to her rock roots from her first two albums more than a decade ago.
