As the NBA offseason gets going, trade winds have started around Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo. Due to another early playoff exit for Milwaukee, many around the NBA see this offseason as the perfect time for Antetokounmpo to ask out.

While it remains to be seen what Antetokounmpo will do, there have been all sorts of rumors swirling around the star forward. If the Bucks do trade Antetokounmpo, it would take a herculean trade package to land the former MVP.
There have been plenty of times linked with Antetokounmpo so far, but longtime NBA personality Bill Simmons proposed a team still playing in the postseason. Simmons floated the idea of the New York Knicks going after Antetokounmpo, and he put together a trade package.
Here is what the deal could look like, according to Simmons:
Knicks receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo
Bucks receive: Karl-Anthony Towns and multiple draft picks from the Knicks via the Spurs
Spurs receive: Mikal Bridges
"I just wonder, instead of Durant, who was in the 2007 Draft and has been around for a long time, does it make more sense to target somebody like Bridges?" Simmons said. "And then if you're the Knicks, could you send Bridges for picks and send those picks with Towns for Giannis and basically turn Towns and Bridges into Giannis would be my question?"

Photo byAntetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game this season while shooting 60.1 percent from the field this season. Adding him to the Knicks roster could change everything and help New York become even more formidable.
Losing Towns and Bridges would be tough, but Antetokounmpo could be worth it. New York likely makes this deal if the Bucks offered it to them.
New York has a big decision to make on Bridges coming up regarding an extension, and they could mitigate that entirely. While Bridges has been good for the team, Antetokounmpo is a generational talent.

For the Bucks, they could get a five-time All-Star in Towns to build around in the post-Antetokounmpo era. Towns could help Milwaukee stay relevant while they fully rebuild, and the Bucks could look to move him for more assets down the line.
In the case of San Antonio, they would go younger in Bridges to pair alongside Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox. The Spurs would likely have to part with a player or two to make this deal happen, but it could benefit them greatly.
If Antetokounmpo does indeed get moved, this could be a rare win for all sides involved. Simmons may be onto something with this hypothetical trade as the offseason gets going.

NBA Legend Urges Celtics to Make Kristaps Porzingis Decision
NBA Legend Urges Celtics to Make Kristaps Porzingis Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Boston Celtics are currently in a transition period. Even before Jayson Tatum tore his Achilles, everyone could guess their offseason plans were primarily about cutting costs this offseason. Advertisement The Celtics have been above the NBA's second tax apron for two straight years and want to avoid being above it for a third because that could lead to frozen draft assets. Hence, players like Kristaps Porzingis may be traded to another team. However, when Porzingis is fully healthy, he brings the Celtics to another level, which factored into their winning their 18th title as a franchise. The sad reality is that he is a health risk on top of being expensive. That's why he gets constantly mentioned among players most likely to be traded this summer. Boston Celtics star Kristaps Porzingis© Eric Canha-Imagn Images One Celtics legend believes the team should go the opposite direction. Basketball Hall-of-Famer and Celtics legend Kevin Garnett explained on "KG Certified" why Boston should keep Porzingis next season. Advertisement 'Man, you got to bring Porzingis back,' Garnett said. 'Porzingis makes it all unguardable. When Porzingis is in there and everybody is healthy, this year they weren't healthy at all.' The Celtics could look into trading other players to save money, like Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White. What makes Porzingis especially appealing, besides being a health risk, is that his contract is expiring, which trade partners will find palatable to acquire. The Celtics' big man will make $30.7 million for the 2025-26 season, which could appeal to teams trying to save long-term money. Boston might agree to take longer contracts if it helps them get under the second tax apron. This version of Josh Hart couldn't get anything right in ‘tough' Game 2
Knicks fans have grown accustomed to seeing Josh Hart filling up the various categories of a stat sheet like a game of Yahtzee, but this was more like a game of Sorry! for the do-it-all wing. Hart got into early foul trouble and attempted just three field goals in a playoff-low 29 minutes Friday night, contributing just six points, six rebounds, one assist and a minus-10 rating in the Knicks' 114-109 home loss to the Pacers to fall behind 0-2 in the Eastern Conference finals. Advertisement 'Yeah, it was tough to find ways to [be me], ways to help the team,' Hart told The Post after the game. 'Obviously, that quick foul trouble kind of puts you in a position to not being as aggressive. So that was a tough one. Just one of those games. Shots will be there some games, some they won't.' Josh Hart struggled in Game 2 on May 23, 2025. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post Hart became the first Knicks player to record a triple-double in the playoffs since Clyde Frazier in 1972 when he posted 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in the Game 6 clincher of the second round against the Celtics. In the regular season, he also broke Frazier's single-season franchise mark with his ninth of the season on March 25 against the Mavericks. Clyde managed eight triple-doubles in the 1968-69 season, and his record stood for more than 55 years. Hart picked up his second personal foul with 5:43 left in the first quarter, and he was replaced by Miles McBride about one minute later with the Knicks trailing 19-11, contributing to the latest slow start by the Knicks. Josh Hart gets a rebound during the third quarter. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post Josh Hart reacts on the court during the Knicks' Game 2 loss. Jason Szenes / New York Post 'I wish I could tell you. I don't know [why],' said Hart, who remained scoreless until sinking two free throws with 1.1 seconds left in the second quarter. 'We're down 0-2. We've got to figure it out. Have to find the things that spark us, we have to look at everything. It's tough when you keep putting yourself into a hole. We have to figure that out and fix it.'

Nets work out Colorado State's Nique Clifford ahead of 2025 NBA Draft
Nets work out Colorado State's Nique Clifford ahead of 2025 NBA Draft The Brooklyn Nets head into the 2025 NBA Draft with five picks to use, including four in the first round that could bring them a massive influx of young talent. From now until the Draft late in June, Brooklyn will be trying to get as much intel as possible on prospects and one of those players was recently brought in for a workout ahead of the Draft. The Nets brought in Colorado State forward Nique Clifford for a predraft workout at some point recently, according to a report from Brian Lewis of the New York Post on Thursday. Some of the other notable names that have worked out for Brooklyn already are Oklahoma guard Jeremiah Fears and Duke forward Kon Knueppel, two players that the Nets could select with the eighth overall pick. Clifford, listed at 6-foot-5 and 202 pounds, is coming off a senior season in which he rose his draft stock immensely after averaging 18.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 49.6% from the field and 37.7% from three-point land. In the latest mock draft from Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman, Clifford is being taken by the Miami Heat with the 20th overall pick, one spot after the Nets select Michigan State guard Jase Richardson 19th overall. "Nique Clifford should draw interest from teams that are prioritizing prospects that can provide instant minutes and versatility," Wasserman wrote when discussing Clifford. "A 23-year-old won't be for everyone, but between his age, broad shoulders, shotmaking diversity, playmaking IQ, excellent rebounding numbers and experience playing different roles, Clifford should look like an NBA-ready forward with an adaptable game." As Lewis pointed out in his post on X, Clifford is mocked to go anywhere from the back end of the Lottery to 20th overall, meaning that he could be there for the taking by the Nets with the 19th overall pick, assuming that he impressed Brooklyn in his workout. Clifford is an older prospect, but that doesn't change the fact that he presents like the kind of player who could contribute right away for head coach Jordi Fernandez and company.
