At the IIFA 2025 awards, Kartik Aaryan was honoured with the prestigious Best Actor (Male) award for his performance as Rooh Baba in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
His acceptance speech not only moved the audience but also reflected on the trials and triumphs that shaped his career, especially his association with the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.
"I don't have words right now. I am not Chandu, I am the champion. I know this is not an award for that film, but I have the same feeling," he began, referencing his role from the movie Chandu Champion.
"The whole journey with Bhool Bhulaiyaa has been full of thorns," he continued, recalling the doubts and questions that arose when he first joined the franchise.
"From the beginning, when I was cast for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, people questioned whether I could carry the film on my shoulders. And even during Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, we didn't know if we would succeed on the big day," he said.
Despite the challenges, he expressed his gratitude to his fans.
"Thank you to the audience for always supporting the entire franchise and for giving so much love to both Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. This year, when the film was released during Diwali 2024, we were incredibly happy to see the love it received."
Aaryan's emotional tribute continued as he thanked the film's director, Anees Bazmee, for giving him the role of Rooh Baba. "A big thank you to Anees Bazmee sir for creating such a huge character, Rooh Baba, which has truly become a legacy across generations," he said.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is his biggest box-office success.
Looking ahead, Aaryan expressed excitement for his upcoming projects.
"The biggest thank you also goes to the team behind Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and I'm excited to take on new roles," he shared.
Fans are eagerly anticipating his next films, including Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri, directed by Sameer Vidwans and produced by Dharma Productions.
The rom-com, set for a 2026 release, promises to be a fresh and humorous love story.
Additionally, Aaryan is all set to star in Aashiqui 3, helmed by Anurag Basu.
The romantic drama, which features a fresh pairing with South actress Sreeleela, is expected to hit theatres on Diwali 2025.

What is Ananya Panday day dreaming about while sweating it out in the gym?

Bollywood actress Ananya Panday took to social media to reveal what she's been daydreaming about at the gym. Taking to Instagram, the 'Student of the Year' actress shared a series of photos and captioned it, 'At the gym but day dreaming of other things.' The first image shows Ananya taking a selfie at the gym, where she is seen flaunting her washboard abs. In the next shot, she looks glamorous in an off-shoulder dress. Other images feature plants arranged on a balcony, a building, sweet delicacies, an airplane, a swimming pool, and a stunning, peaceful night view of the sea. Ananya Panday also uses Instagram to share professional updates. On June 2, she announced the release date of her upcoming film, 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri.' She posted a picture of herself and co-star Kartik Aaryan sharing a kiss behind an Indian passport. The romantic drama 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' is slated to hit theatres on Feb.13, 2026. The film reunites Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, who last shared screen space in the 2019 hit 'Pati Patni Aur Woh.' Notably, this project also signifies a fresh beginning for Kartik and Dharma Productions, following their past fallout over 'Dostana 2.' With this film, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan appear to have moved past their differences, signaling a renewed professional relationship. Ananya was last seen playing the role of lawyer Dilreet Gill in 'Kesari Chapter 2,' which also featured Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan. Her portrayal of a lawyer earned appreciation from both critics and audiences, who commended the conviction and nuance she brought to the character. This was the first time Panday appeared in a non-glamorous avatar. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Dharma Productions, the historical drama was adapted from the book 'The Case That Shook The Empire,' which focuses on C. Sankaran Nair and the tragic Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919. Meanwhile, Ananya paid a heartfelt tribute to her father, Chunky Panday during the 23rd edition of the Zee Cine Awards. The diva left her dad surprised with a heartfelt performance, which she had been planning with her mother, Bhavana Pandey. During the performance, Ananya was joined by Chunky as they tapped a foot together on his popular track, 'Main Tera Tota' from the 1989 drama 'Paap Ki Duniya'. The father and daughter duo set the stage on fire with their scintillating chemistry. Their wholesome performance even left Bhavana teary-eyed. Talking about her special performance, Ananya said, 'I've grown up watching my dad light up people's lives with his work, and this performance was my way of saying thank you — not just to him as an artist, but as the incredible father who's always been my biggest supporter. Mom and I had been planning this surprise for so long and keeping it, a secret wasn't easy! Every time I rehearsed at home, he'd walk by looking confused, wondering what I was up to. Seeing his reaction tonight made it all worth it.' Indo-Asian News Service

Dharma Productions responds to abuse allegations against 'Homebound' crew

Dharma Productions, the production house behind the critically acclaimed film Homebound, has released an official statement in response to the recent abuse allegations levelled against the film's cinematographer, Pratik Shah. The allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women surfaced on social media platforms, prompting Shah to delete his Instagram account amid a backlash. To this, the production has said no formal complaints were made against Shah. "At Dharma Productions, we have a zero-tolerance policy against inappropriate behaviour and sexual harassment toward any individual working with us in any capacity, and we treat sexual harassment cases very seriously," the company said in a statement. It also said that Shah, who worked as a freelance cinematographer on Homebound, was engaged for a limited duration. The production house emphasised that during this period, no complaints were filed with the internal committee established under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment guidelines. Homebound, which was the only Indian film to be featured at this year's Cannes Film Festival in the Un Certain Regard section, has garnered significant international attention. The film, produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra, received a standing ovation after its Cannes screening. The film stars an ensemble cast, including Ishaan Khatter, Janhvi Kapoor, and Vishal Jethwa.

Why Bollywood star Janhvi Kapoor begged Rhea Kapoor not to ‘kill' her

It's not every day that Janhvi Kapoor's candid side surfaces online, but her latest exchange with producer Rhea Kapoor did just that. In her latest post on Instagram, the 'Dhadak' actress jokingly pleaded with Rhea Kapoor, saying, 'Don't kill me.' On Friday, Janhvi shared a couple of her stylish photos in a black outfit and captioned it, Ready for the Mumbai rains ( @rheakapoor don't kill me for the caption).' In the images, she made a stylish statement in a chic black outfit that she paired with a hat and heels. Janhvi Kapoor completed her look with a subtle makeup look and stud earrings. In her next follow-up post, the 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' actress dropped a series of her photos from Cannes 2025. In the images, Janhvi is seen posing with Ishaan Khatter, Karan Johar, filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan, and others. In some of the candid solo shots, the actress is seen striking different poses for the camera. Some photos feature Janhvi posing with her rumored boyfriend, Shikhar Pahariya. Sharing the images, Boney Kapoor's daughter wrote in the caption, 'A recap So grateful to have been a part of this journey, this story and this moment. With the best, most wholesome people #Cannes2025.' Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's film 'Homebound' earned a spot in the esteemed Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Ahead of the film's screening, Janhvi's sister Khushi Kapoor, close friend Orry, and her rumored beau Shikhar Pahariya touched down at the French Riviera to show their support. Cheerful photos of the group have surfaced online, capturing their joyous moments ahead of the big event. Helmed by Neeraj Ghaywan, 'Homebound' stood out as the sole Indian feature to be screened at this year's Cannes Film Festival, making its world premiere under the prestigious Un Certain Regard category. As per the latest update from Dharma Productions' official X handle, the film was met with overwhelming appreciation, receiving a 9-minute standing ovation from a packed auditorium. Ghaywan is that very rare beast in Bollywood — a Dalit director from the lowest rung in the rigid Hindu caste system. He believes he is the 'first acknowledged Dalit behind a camera in the history of Hindi cinema. That's a stunning disparity,' he said. And one that means the stories of the quarter of India's 1.4 billion people who are tribals or come from castes once disparagingly known as 'untouchables', are not being seen. 'India and the world really needs to see their stories,' said Ghaywan, adding that with such a vast population 'it is understandable that they are often talked of as just statistics.' 'I myself come from a marginalised background. I am a Dalit. So there's a lot of me in the movie,' said Ghaywan, who lives near Mumbai but grew up in the south. It is also loosely inspired by a heartbreaking real-life tale of poor workers who set out on foot on an epic journey back to their village from the city during the Covid lockdowns. Agencies
