EMMERDALE hunk Lewis Cope has been confirmed as the new contestant for Strictly Come Dancing 2025 – being drafted in at the last minute.
The star was announced on The One Show tonight, making an appearance after an 11th hour casting following the exit of Game of Thrones star, Kristian Nairn.

The 20-year-old from Hartlepool, County Durham, played Nicky Milligan on the ITV soap from 2022 to 2024.
The character was the secret son of Caleb Miligan, and the grandson of Faith Dingle and Frank Tate.
Speaking about accepting the challenge, Lewis admitted that he was drafted in "over the past two days" and wasn't initially in the running to take part.
"If anything, it's probably helped me," he said of joining late. "Because I haven't really had time to think about it or anything.
"So now the excitement has kind of just taken over, and I'm just like all inside."
As for who he wants to impress, he said: "I'd probably say Shirley, just because she seems to be very particular on technique and all of that.
"So if I can manage to learn some of the technique, and I think that'll be, like, a nice achievement for me."
Without a preference for a partner, he added: "All of them are going to be fantastic. I know they're at the top of the game.
"So for me, I probably want someone that's going to push me, like, literally push me."
Lewis might just be accused of having unfair dance experience, however.
At the age of 11 he was appearing in one of the leading roles in Billy Elliot: The Musical in London's West End.
Luckily he managed to avoid too much Mickey taking at school.
He said: 'I never got any stick at school – it probably helped that I had brothers in every year and that they were boxers.
'But I was also able to charm and joke with classmates, so it was never a big thing. I was very lucky, for somebody else it could have been different.'
Nairn, famed for playing Hodor on Game of Thrones, was confirmed to be leaving the show today on medical grounds.
He said in his official statement: "With a heavy heart, I have to step back from this season of Strictly Come Dancing due to unexpected medical reasons.
"I was truly looking forward to the journey, and I'm deeply sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to seeing me on the dance floor.
"Thank you all for your support, and I will be back on my feet very soon, in every sense. Love to all, Kristian."
The 49-year-old actor later took to social media with a video, explaining that his vitals had spiked due a combination of stress and grief.
Apologising to fans, he explained that doctors had advised he withdraw from the show so he could get back to normal.
He is now under treatment expected to make a full recovery, with Nairn adding that the doctors didn't see the spike as a major concern.
"I'm not going to have time for the show - I'm not going to have time for the training," he said.
"I also don't want to leave them, you and my other contestants hanging, that's not really fair."
Kristian admitted he was "gutted" to be out saying he spent months preparing and "looking forward to taking part".

But he thanked Strictly bosses for their "understanding" and support.
"So, let's see what happens when I get sorted. I'm gonna be taking it easy for now and I'll be able to return to work very shortly," he continued.
"It's always been my honour to, in some way and my weird way, to just to be... just to show that I'm from Northern Ireland.
"I'm very proud and I'm sorry I've let you down in any way. But I'll continue to do my best."
Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios said of the exit: 'We've absolutely loved getting to know Kristian in this short time, and he has all the makings of a brilliant Strictly Come Dancing contestant.
"We're incredibly sorry to lose him from this year's series and we all wish him a speedy recovery.'
Strictly Come Dancing kicks off next month on BBC One.

Still Game legend stars in cheeky throwback Irn-Bru advert that brings back iconic catchphrase

Linda Raskin, 83, was cast in the hilarious production alongside a young lad who delivers a rousing speech on behalf of the drink and actor Sanjeev Kohli - who harps back to his days as Still Game's Navid by playing a shopkeeper. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 3 Linda had a great time filming the advert. 3 It was the first role for young lad Davis. 3 Sanjeev is a big Irn-Bru fan. The characters give hilarious examples of what it means to have girders - leading to the pensioner's cheeky one-liner. The pensioner, from Newton Mearns, had great fun riding a mobility scooter and can't wait for her five grandchildren to see her starring in the special ad. She said: 'I told them they better watch it and glue themselves to the screen - granny is on. They all think it's good fun. 'I probably will get recognised afterwards. One of my lines is 'I'm not wearing any pants' so imagine what my friends will shout at me when I go shopping. 'It won't be, 'Donald where's your trousers?', it'll be 'Linda, where's your pants?'' Teenager Davis Harvey, 13, from Dennistoun, impressed Linda in his first role after being street-cast for the ad. The advert brings back the iconic 'made in Scotland from girders' line from 40 years ago that was used to explain the drink's magical qualities. And that's ideal for Linda - as her father was a magician and she worked as his assistant when she was a youngster. She said: 'The mobility scooter lethal was lethal, it was so fast. I felt 15 again. 'I had to throw a can of Irn-Bru over my shoulder into bin and my aim was stunning. Irn Bru announces major shake-up to iconic brand - and some fans won't be happy 'We did it countless times – and I managed to make the shot every time. I've no idea how. Maybe it was the girders in the Irn-Bru making the magic happen.' Linda, who worked at a dentist before attending drama school, joked: 'I remember 'Made in Scotland from Girders' from the first time round and how much it was loved by us all. 'Being part of bringing back is fantastic and a real honour. My whole family love Irn-Bru. 'But I never expected at my age for people to start asking whether I'm wearing any pants, which I'm sure will happen the next time I'm out and about.' The newsagents featured was a shop in Albert Drive, Pollokshields, as The Lucky General creative agency kept things local for their first Irn-Bru production. Sanjeev, 53, quipped: 'Irn-Bru ads have always been witty, had a bit of an edge and they've never been short of something daft to say. "So, I obviously wasn't going to knock it back when they came calling. Especially when I realised 'Made in Scotland from Girders' was returning. 'When I read the script, it felt like a real throwback to the 80s and 90s – and I mean that in a good way. "It was simple but a bit silly and didn't take itself too seriously. When we got together to film, everyone just picked up that energy up and ran with it. We had a right laugh, even when the cameras weren't rolling. 'From a pantless granny to a ginger flying too close to the sun, the ad is funny, but it's also true. Scots are most definitely made from girders.'

Gangs of London's Lucian Msamati teases new Netflix show Hostage with Suranne Jones
Reach Screen Time spoke exclusively to Lucian Msamati about working with Suranne Jones One of the leading actors from Netflix 's new adrenaline-fuelled political thriller Hostage, has given us a sneak peek behind the scenes, following lead actress Suranne Jones' unexpected revelation, reports the Manchester Evening News. In an exclusive chinwag with Reach Screen Time, Lucian Msamati, known for his roles in Gangs of London and Game of Thrones, spilled the beans about the twist-filled series and his experience working alongside the Gentleman Jack star. Msamati, 49, shared: "I think there was great spark. Suranne and I just got on like a house on fire and we sort of became work husband and wife, which is really at the centre of both of their jobs. "They're both hard-headed, they're both very good at what they do and they both care." He hinted: "I think the scenes, without giving too much away, there are later scenes to come which were tough in good way. But that's the juice that we're after." Hostage is a five-part Netflix series and marks Coronation Street and Vigil actress Jones' first venture with the streaming behemoth. The star collaborated closely with creator and Oscar-nominated writer Matt Charman, who penned the script for Hollywood film Bridge of Spies, on the story. She also wore the hat of a producer on the TV series. Msamati portrays prime ministerial aide Kofi Adomako, who is tasked with advising Jones' British premier Abigail Dalton after her husband is kidnapped and her resignation is demanded as the ransom for his release. The distinguished British-Tanzanian actor revealed he was attracted to the project by Charman, and disclosed how the playwright rang him about the role which was penned specifically with the star in mind. Looking back on his preparation for the character of Adomako, the actor explained: "I think I've had the benefit of playing lots of conciliatory types, lots of right-hand, king of the hand type characters. This is watching people who are immediately behind the throne. "There were some really interesting books, the calculation that has to happen. A person whose job it is to anticipate, the person whose job it is to go, 'What are the possible outcomes here? Can I get ahead of this?' Just being, you know, ultimately loyal, ultimately responsible." He continued: "And he sort of, for myself, this guys's been there, he's done that, several governments, he knows his stuff. We don't know his political allegiance but we know he's first duty is to the office of the prime minister." Msamati is currently occupied with numerous other ventures and according to IMDb, he will be featuring in the mini-series Run Away. The star also revealed: "There are a few interesting theatrical projects bubbling and brewing and there may or may not be another well-known television series that may or may not be coming out later this year that I may or may not be a part of. You'll just have to wait and see." The interview coincides with Sky's confirmation of a fourth season for Gangs of London. However, considering the recent plot developments, it seems improbable that Msamati will make a comeback.
