Hyderabad man kills 2-week-old newborn, dumps her body in garbage
In a shocking incident, a 14-day-old baby was allegedly stabbed to death by her father and her body was thrown in a garbage dump under the Golconda police station limits in Hyderabad.
Based on a complaint filed by the accused's wife, he was taken into police custody.
Jagat, who is originally from Nepal and works as a security guard, reportedly stabbed the infant before abandoning the remains.
According to the police, "Yesterday, in the early morning hours around 2 am, a man named Jagath, a Nepalese national who had been residing and working as a watchman in an apartment for one year, killed his 14-day-old baby girl."
"He took the body outside the apartment, stabbed her in the neck, and threw the deceased baby's body near a garbage dump in Tolichowki. His wife filed a complaint, and we have taken the accused into custody. The accused has not revealed the motives behind the crime. Further investigation is ongoing," said the Inspector of Golconda police station.

Teenager Gets Injured While Shooting 'Reel' Of Fake Suicide
Mumbai: The craze of creating `reels' or short videos for social media almost cost a Nepalese teenager his life on Tuesday as he got injured while staging a fake suicide by hanging in Maharashtra's Ahilyanagar district on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on the premises of a hotel located on Karamala Road in Jamkhed area, said an official. The 17-year-old Nepalese national and his friend were shooting a video of a fake suicide. The youngster tied a piece of cloth to a tree and slipped the noose around his neck, but something went wrong and the noose tightened, choking him. His friend rushed to his aid and removed the noose. The teenager sustained internal injuries to the neck and was taken to a private hospital in Jamkhed, said the police official. He was undergoing treatment. Jamkhed Police visited the hospital and recorded the statement of the victim's friend, the official said, adding that further probe was on.

U.S. deports 37 illegal Nepali nationals
The U.S. government has deported 37 Nepali nationals who were illegally staying in America, an official said on Monday (June 9, 2025). A chartered flight carrying the illegal Nepali nationals arrived from the U.S. in Kathmandu on Sunday (June 8) evening, an Immigration Department official said. This is the largest number of Nepalis deported by the U.S. in a single day, the official said. They were found to have violated the U.S. immigration laws, the official said. Anjan Neupane, spokesperson for the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport, said that with Sunday's deportation, 177 Nepali nationals illegally staying in the U.S. had been sent back since President Donald Trump assumed office in January. Hundreds of Nepalese have gone to the U.S. in the past through illegal channels by paying millions of rupees to brokers and risking their lives. The Trump administration is also planning to deport thousands of Nepalis staying in the U.S. under Temporary Protection Status.
