Nico Raskin earns swooning review as Rangers mate showered in love amid £5m transfer exit push
The 24-year-old capped off the best season of his career with a game-changing cameo in the 4-3 win over Wales Beaming Rudi Garcia has waxed lyrical about game-changing Nico Raskin after the Rangers star once again made a telling impact for his national team. The 24-year-old capped off the best season of his career with a game-changing cameo in the 4-3 win over Wales as he helped re-address the balance after the Red Devils coughed up a 3-0 lead in Brussels. Raskin was a surprise omission from the starting XI but made the most of his 15-minute cameo with the game all square before Kevin De Bruyne broke Welsh hearts. The Ibrox star – expected to garner serious transfer interest this summer with two years left on his deal – once again received a glowing appraisal from Garcia. The Belgium boss, speaking on a raft of changes during the game, said: "It didn't prove me right at first, but it was better afterwards. The two periods of change were important, by the way (Nicolas Raskin then Alexis Saelemaekers). It's positive because the players proved they could move forward. "Nicolas Raskin's entry (in place of Dodi Lukebakio, who had already come on) was important because we needed fighters on the pitch. Jeremy Doku? He was the catalyst. He's reached a high level in the last two matches." And even when saluting national icon De Bruyne, Garcia couldn't help but once again lavish praise on Raskin and his telling impact in the closing stages of a vital World Cup qualifying win. He added: "It's symbolic Kevin De Bruyne ultimately scored the fourth. Nicolas Raskin 's return helped us get back in control of the game. He stabilised the team, and Alexis Saelemaekers, who can do a bit of everything, helped us finish well." Meanwhile, Cyriel Dessers parked frenzied speculation surrounding his own future as he married sweetheart Rosalie de Ruysscher in Italy over the weekend. That would be a £500k profit on the Nigeria international under Michael Beale after he was signed from Cremonese in the summer of 2023.

Cyriel Dessers minimum Rangers transfer fee revealed as AEK set to spend big on statement signing
The Greeks mean business after takeover by Marios Iliopoulos but new Ibrox regime determined to turn a profit on Dessers Greek Giants AEK are preparing to push the boat out to land Rangers hitman Cyriel Dessers. The enigmatic Ibrox striker has blasted 51 goals in two years in Glasgow but remains a divisive figure among the Light Blue legions. Now Record Sport understands AEK are keen to offer him a fresh start in the Greek capital - and are willing to spend big. The Yellow and Blacks were taken over by shipping magnate Marios Iliopoulos last year and he's determined to make a statement signing this summer. They've identified Gers' 30-year-old Nigeria international as the man they want to spearhead their big push to recapture the Super League title they last won in 2023. But they will likely have to start the bidding at the £5million mark as Rangers' new American owners prepare to dig their heels in. The previous Ibrox regime spent £4.5million when they signed the former Feyenoord forward from Italian outfit Cremonese in 2023 and new sporting director Kevin Thelwell believes his record of scoring a goal-every-other game in Glasgow justifies a return on that investment. Dessers has been the subject of interest in recent windows, with his agent Stijn Franics revealing earlier this year that he had as many as TEN clubs sniffing about his signature in January. None could come up with the cash Gers were looking for and he stayed on to finish the campaign in Glasgow only one shy of the 30 mark. Selling Dessers would free up some fresh funds for new boss Russell Martin to spend. Andrew Cavenagh and his partners from the San Francisco 49ers have vowed to inject £20m of fresh funds into the Ibrox coffers, with CEO Patrick Stewart promising the new gaffer a 'decent amount' would be ring fenced for recruitment purposes. But Martin has been told he will have to move players on if he wants to raise additional funds for what is likely to be a considerable rebuild this summer. Record Sport broke the news last week that Leicester City defender Conor Coady could be the first new face in bolster Gers' backline. Ib Rox chiefs have already made contact with the Foxes as they look to kick off the Martin revolution with the experienced ex-England's capture. We also revealed how Rangers are in the hunt for £4 million-rated Israeli striker Dor Turgeman, who could be the man to replace Dessers. Talks with his club Maccabi Tel Aviv are on going as Rangers look to land the 21-year-old hit-man. Man Utd's next three transfers after Mbeumo signing as four players set to leave
Manchester United have already splashed the cash in the summer transfer window and are aiming to make Bryan Mbeumo their third signing of the window but are still aiming for more Manchester United still want to make THREE more signings once they get a move for Bryan Mbeumo complete. The Red Devils have made the Brentford forward one of their priority targets for the coming weeks. United have already approached the Bees for a deal but as yet, there is no agreement for the forward to move to Old Trafford. There may be one slight issue given Tottenham have forced themselves into contention, with Brentford boss Thomas Frank closing in on a switch to North London. But United are still pressing ahead with a move. And once Mbeumo completes a switch, the club will then move onto their other targets. United are interested in signing a new goalkeeper. Andre Onana has struggled to convince since his arrival from Inter Milan, and Gianuigi Donnarumma has emerged as a contender for a move - according to French reports - with just a year remaining on his contract with current side Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking recently about his future, he said: 'New deal or leaving? We will see what happens… I don't know. It's time to enjoy this magic season now. I will go on holiday and then we will see.' That situation may well not revolve itself until next summer, particularly given United's finances at present means they're unlikely to be able to pay anything like what PSG would want to part ways with the Italian 12 months early. But regardless, a new man between the sticks is likely to still arrive as the club have interest in bringing in a new No.2 as well. At the other end of the pitch, United are also keen to sign a new striker after their goalscoring woes last term. Viktor Gyokeres is a long-term target, while Victor Osimhen could also be an option after rejecting a move to Saudi Arabia. However, there is a slight issue when it comes to a new forward, with Rasmus Hojlund claiming that he is hoping to stay at the club beyond this summer. He said: 'I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United. I'm looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I'm fully dedicated to the project that's underway. "I know I can't get much out of reading things. I know what the facts are, and that is that I have a contract with Manchester United until 2030. I expect to play there, so I'm just getting ready for some summer vacation and then hopefully a good pre-season." Who do you think Man United should sign? Share your thoughts in the comments below Finally, a new midfielder is also on United's shopping list for the remainder of the window. Atalanta star Ederson has been linked in the past and if it's not him then a similar all-action type should arrive. The Red Devils are determined to bid farewell to a few players to bolster their funds. Marcus Rashford, Antony and Jadon Sancho are all expected to leave the club following loan spells away from Old Trafford, with the trio all available for sale if the price is right. United's issue is all three have good contracts that they won't just want to give up. Almost certainly out the door is Alejandro Garnacho, who has been linked with Napoli, and has been told he has no future at the club under Amorim.
