Chris Stark left fuming over wild Scott Mills and 'rude' Jennifer Aniston prank

Daily Mirror4 days ago

EXCLUSIVE: Radio legend Chris Stark has opened up about the time his 'worst nightmare' came true during an interview with Hollywood icon Jennifer Aniston
Chris Stark was left close to tears after an awkward run-in with Jennifer Aniston. The former BBC Radio 1 l egend is no stranger to interviewing some of the biggest names in entertainment but he admitted his chat with Jennifer was his "worst nightmare".
The 38-year-old had previously sat down with Jennifer, 56, while she was plugging We're The Millers, during which they chatted about strip clubs, had a cheeky flirt, and Chris even told the Friends icon she was on most men's "list" of the five hottest women in the world.

So when the chance came up to see her again in 2014 while she was promoting Horrible Bosses 2, Chris instantly leapt at the opportunity. But what he didn't know was that his former co-star, Scott Mills, had lined up a cheeky prank. Scott, 52, had secretly given instructions to Jen to be the "worst interviewee ever."

But Jennifer was completely unaware that Chris had been on the booze the night before their chat. While things seemed to be going well, it soon took a drastic turn when Chris asked: "Your character Julie is so forward, I'm interested to know how you would make the first move, if you wanted to, with a guy?"
Jennifer, in on the joke, instantly became cold, responding: "First of all, I don't think that's an appropriate question, I'm also committed to somebody. I don't hit on people," as Chris was left flustered trying to cover his tracks. Recalling the moment, he exclusively told the Mirror: "It was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life.

"I'd had this big night out the night before, and I turned up to interview Jennifer. I'd interviewed her before, and she was so lovely, and it had gotten massive (it racked up over three million views). I wasn't aware I was part of a prank at the time. Scott had sort of arranged with her to be difficult in the interview.
"I was sitting there, excited to see Jennifer Aniston again, it started so well, she was like 'Oh my Watford guy, how are you?' and then it turned into the most awkward interview." Chris went on to add: "Because I'd had this big night out, I was feeling extra sensitive and I wanted to cry and the ground to swallow me up.

"Luckily, there was a moment when Scott walked in and I found out it was a prank. Those ten minutes or so, waiting for that moment, thinking I've just somehow upset Jennifer Aniston, was the most embarrassing, awkward moment I've ever been part of. Thank God it was a prank."
But Chris, who now fronts the Capital FM Breakfast Show, admits he's had "so many" embarrassing moments over his career, but he no longer beats himself up about them. "I think the lesson that you learn is, you don't need to be embarrassed, everything moves on," he said.
Chris recently teamed up with Dreams on their Bed Chemistry campaign, discussing looking after his own health and sleep due to having to wake up every weekday at 4am for work. "Sleep is not something that I'd really, I don't know, maybe put so much importance on," he explained.

However, he admits that the campaign brought it to focus how important a good sleep routine was. During his conversations with members of the public, Chris discovered the term "bed chemistry" – how compatible a person is with the individual they share a bed with. "I've realised largely it's my fault that I'm not particularly sleep compatible with my wife," he laughed reflecting on his early wake-ups.
He added: "It started from the point of someone who doesn't get much sleep so linking up with Dreams seemed like a really obvious choice and a really funny thing to go and explore but it has ended up sort of leading into my real life." Chris admits his wake up call is a "tricky one" for his family when his body gets a "massive shock" when his alarm clock goes off.

Speaking about getting up and ready for his day at work, he explained: "It's a very stressful part of my day but having a nice bed and everything, I've always appreciated getting some sleep – everyone appreciates it. But since linking up with Dreams, it's definitely something I'm trying to kind of improve in, in every area."
The broadcaster admits his new partnership has "opened up a few questions", admitting he often worried about his health due to not getting enough sleep. "There's another side to this as well," he said before expanding: "If you are going to have fewer hours and you can't help it, it's important your quality of sleep is good. That's something I'm trying to consider and give more focus to, and probably something at the very least I'm more aware of."

Despite his early starts, Chris believes he's not "disciplined enough" to have a sensible evening routine as he doesn't want to "miss out on life." He said: "It's important to sound awake but it's also important to feel really kind of plugged into the world. I've had times where I've been doing this breakfast show, where it sort of feels like you might have lost yourself a little bit or rightly so, napping all afternoon or not present seeing mates.
"I do sort of worry about missing out on things, it's all about balance and I think at times, I think I've struggled with balance doing this show. But it's something I'm feeling in a better place with at the moment." But Chris admits he's "fallen in love" with the Capital Breakfast show and his new role on the programme.
This interview was conducted as part of Chris Stark's partnership with Dreams for their Bed Chemistry campaign, exploring how sleep compatible Brits really are with their partners.

Jamie Laing gives sweet message of support to best pal Sam Thompson during his 260-mile endurance challenge - after Made In Chelsea star's own gruelling charity marathon

surprised his close pal Sam Thompson with a motivational facetime call as he prepares for day four of his 260-mile endurance challenge. The I'm A Celeb star, 34, who is taking part in a Soccer Aid Challenge and has raised over £604,000 so far, received a sweet message of support from his former Made In Chelsea co-star. After suffering in his own gruelling charity marathon, Jamie, 36, knew exactly how Sam was feeling as he approached the half way mark. The BBC Radio 1 presenter had the whole nation behind him as he ran 30 miles for five consecutive days across the country in March, raising an incredible £2.3m. 'It's day three baby, it's the worst. It's the worst', Jamie laughed. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Sam screamed: 'I can't move man! My Leg!' Jamie said: 'Listen, I've been there. I know how hard it is and your body is screaming for you to give up. Every single moment, you just keep going. 'One foot in front of the other, you don't stop.' Sam teared up: 'Seeing your face just then has literally just made my day. I remember watching you doing your runs and being like your an inspiration man. 'The fact that you're just giving me your energy and your time man, I'm so grateful.' Jamie said: 'You're doing the best thing ever, you're doing it for the best cause. Let's keep going, I adore you, I love you, everyone's behind you, you're the greatest.' 'You got this Sam!', Jamie's wife Sophie Habboo cheered in the background. To complete the challenge, Sam is expected to run a marathon for five days and cycle in between, ensuring the ball arrives on June 6, just in time for kickoff on Sunday, June 15. Day three saw him set off from Villa Park, Birmingham and pass through Walsall, Cannock, Stafford and Stone on his way to Vale Park in Stoke-on-Trent. Pete Wicks hilariously parodied Sam's ex Zara McDermott 's famous 'you can!' moment from Made In Chelsea as he supported him on his challenge on Wednesday. Sam was surprised by Pete during the latest segment where he held up a sign and shouted to his pal. The 'you can!' refers to a now iconic Made In Chelsea scene where Zara begs for Sam back after cheating on him during her time on Celebrity X Factor in 2019. Zara and Sam then split for good earlier this year - with the former Love Island now moving on with One Direction star Louis Tomlinson. In a video shared on Pete and Sam's Staying Relevant podcast TikTok page Pete is seen screaming 'you can!' at Sam - sending him into fits of giggles on his bike. The sign read: 'You can do it... YOU CAAAN!' as Pete shouted it in the same tone that Zara had as she insisted that Sam could forgive her for her infidelities all those years ago. Earlier in the day Sam broke down in tears as pal Pete surprised him to mark half way of his 'intensely painful' challenge. Sam, who sustained a 'significant' injured his calf earlier in the week, threw his arms around his friend, 37, before telling MailOnline the reunion 'made his day'. As Pete strolled up, Sam became overwhelmed to see the friendly face amid day three of him cycling and running another whopping 49 miles. The TV star has been given the task to travel a mammoth 260-mile journey on both bike and foot to deliver the match ball to its new home in Old Trafford, with the hope of raising much-needed funds for Unicef. He told MailOnline: 'Seeing Pete half way made my day. The pain is so intense but this has put a smile on my face'. Before adding: 'Please donate if you can, I'm so grateful for all the support'. Before setting off on Monday, Pete shared a gushing tribute to his pal on Instagram writing: 'Tomorrow this man embarks on a mental and physical challenge for an amazing cause @Unicef.' 'Mate I couldn't be prouder of you as a friend, a brother and as a man. You are gonna push yourself to the limit and I can't wait to watch you complete this f**king mammoth task. 'I know how much work you've put in and I know you're doing it for the right reasons'. Before setting off on Monday, Pete shared a gushing tribute to his pal on Instagram writing: 'Tomorrow this man embarks on a mental and physical challenge for an amazing cause' He continued: 'Just so you know, you're doing it with every single one of your friends and family right behind you. I hope the nation follows your journey and helps you along the way in donations and support. You are an inspiration to me and many others and I admire the man you've become this year more than any other year I've known you. Good luck brother, you've got this' Still battling forwards with an injured calf and given the green light by the medical team, the reality star was determined to complete the challenge. He said: 'This is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I now have to accept that I've done damage to my calf and running is very difficult'. 'But I can and will carry on, not matter what, on two feet and two pedals, I'm still going to get there and get across the finish line on Friday. It's just going to be longer, harder but my reason for doing it still hasn't changed. I really hope people are digging deep for UNICEF, seeing what I'm trying to do and are getting behind this challenge.' Speaking about Sam's injury, on the road physio, Gary Lewin said: 'Sam has got a significant injury to his calf. We tried to take the weight off of it yesterday by giving him a bike day and in the afternoon he said it felt better, so we tried a bit of walking'. 'He can't put much weight on it. My advice today is we're going to start out with a walk today and then cycle and see how we get on. He's in safe hands and medical advice is he can continue'.

Springwatch viewers fume as show airs gruesome scenes with 'no warning'

Springwatch viewers were left in shock after the BBC Two programme showed gruesome scenes without giving any warning Springwatch viewers have been left fuming after the show failed to warn them before airing gruesome scenes on the BBC Two show. The episode saw hosts Chris Packham and Dancing on Ice star Michaela Strachan update fans on a short-eared owl's nest, but things took a turn for the worst when one chick was "pecked to death" by its sibling. ‌ Addressing Springwatch viewers, Michaela said: "It seems like they were all being fed, and just yesterday I was saying that one was doing well. But I'm afraid in that nest things took a turn for the worst." ‌ Michaela admitted the team was "really surprised" upon telling viewers how one chick ate its sibling in "shocking" scenes. However, viewers were left horrified when the show went straight into the clip without any warning. "As you can see, that little one became week and defenceless, and that stronger sibling took complete advantage and started pecking at the younger one who was still alive." Apologising that it was hard to watch Michaela continued: "It pecked it to death. That was really surprising to us, because as Chris said they were fed four times." Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one shocked fan wrote: "Really dont think they should have shown the owl being eaten alive #Springwatch." ‌ Another said: "Got to love #Springwatch. Just watched my first 5 minutes of this series and I've already seen one short eared owl chick peck a sibling to death and eat it's cadaver," as a third commented: "Baby owl eating its sibling alive ffs . Give us a 5 minute warning next time." It comes shortly after the show k icked off its 20th anniversary series. The show broadcasted from a new location, in the picturesque Peak District. Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan introduced the first episode on May 26 with a nostalgic montage of clips featuring familiar faces, including Kate Humble and Bill Oddie, from the show's debut in 2005. ‌ To celebrate two decades on air, the show introduced a new feature, Springwatch Street, which delves into the secret lives of urban wildlife, showcasing the thriving populations of foxes and swifts in city environments. Fans were overjoyed with the anniversary series, with many taking to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their delight. Others were more focused on Chris' Oasis style bucket hat. To go along with the theme, the host peppered his opening segment with Oasis puns, teasing viewers that they were in for a treat: "You'll want to be here now as we're about to bring you the Champagne supernova of wildlife TV, starting tonight." "@ChrisGPackham clearly on an Oasis kick tonight," penned one follower, as others begged him to break out into song. "Oasis songs then Chris?" questioned one, as another said: "Some might say that Chris is naming Oasis songs."

Paul Hollywood admits friends won't bake for him after tearful cake incident

Paul Hollywood has recalled a baking horror story in which a friend became tearful after he judged one of their bakes. Appearing on Wednesday's (4 June) episode of The One Show, the Great British Bake Off judge told an anecdote about a companion who, after baking their own birthday cake, wanted his opinion. Hollywood revealed that he didn't hold back, offering up a similar level of criticism he might give a contestant on the Channel 4 show — but this was at the friend's insistence. "Do it like you do on Bake Off," Hollywood said the friend told him.
