Arsenal star Myles Lewis-Skelly makes decision over Real Madrid transfer

Myles Lewis-Skelly has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal after being the subject of a transfer approach from Real Madrid.
The 18-year-old was yet to make his first-team debut this time last year but is now viewed as one of the best young players in the world.
Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a breakout season after being handed his first minutes for Arsenal in September, going on to make 39 appearances in all competitions.
He was one of Mikel Arteta's key players as Arsenal challenged for the Premier League title – eventually finishing second for the third year in a row – and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
By the end of the season Lewis-Skelly was one of the most important players at the Emirates Stadium and began to attract interest from Real Madrid.

The La Liga giants were reportedly taken aback by his performances in the Champions League quarter-final clash and expressed interest in bringing him to the Bernabeu.
A move to arguably the biggest club in the world has proved tempting for other players – including ex-Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold – but Lewis-Skelly is ready to commit his long-term future to Arsenal.
Lewis-Skelly has been in talks with Arsenal over a new deal for several weeks and reports say an agreement has now been struck, with an official announcement expected shorty. More Trending
The new deal for Lewis-Skelly, who had been about to enter into the final year of his current contract, will come as a huge boost to Arsenal and Mikel Arteta ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Lewis-Skelly also broke into the England team and became the youngest player to score on his senior debut for the Three Lions in March.
He also featured for England during their recent fixtures and looks set to be a vital cog in Thomas Tuchel's team ahead of next summer's World Cup.

Benjamin Sesko's agent clarifies price tag haggling rumours over Arsenal switch

Benjamin Sesko's agent, Elivis Basanovic, says rumours that RB Leipzig are being pressured lower their asking price for the forward are 'rubbish'. Basanovic made clear that the German club and Sesko have a respectable relationship and are both aware of the other's priorities. Those, of course, being: Sesko's desire to move to Arsenal and Leipzig wanting to negotiate the best price for him. Leipzig are open to letting Sesko leave and the forward has reportedly agreed personal terms with the Gunners but Basanovic sought to 'clarify' matters and stressed he will honour Leipzig's price tag of a reported €80-100m (£68-86m). The Daily Star report that he said stories claiming he is haggling down Sesko's price tag with the Bundesliga side are 'far from truth' and that Leipzig will respect Sesko's decision to leave. "We respect RB Leipzig and I am 100 per cent convinced RB Leipzig will also respect our decision for the next step when we decide to do it,' Basanovic said. "Even if there may be - or will be - a strong desire of the player to move to a certain club, we will never force or blackmail RB Leipzig.' He went on to call for 'more respect' during transfer sagas, adding: "I can understand in very big transfers, there are a lot of different interests but no matter what, I believe in football world should be more respect. "So that's why we do things in the right way or we don't do them. It's very simple, even maybe in the media it looks very complicated." Arsenal hope to bring in a prolific striker this summer to help them with their quest to win the Premier League title after they fell short to Liverpool in 2024/25. Viktor Gyokeres is also on there list but Sesko is their No.1 priority having scored 21 goals across all competitions for Leipzig last season including 13 in the Bundesliga.

Neymar's dad makes cryptic transfer statement after fans 'came to our windows'

Brazil superstar Neymar became the world's most expensive player when he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona but ultimately left the club in 2023 for Saudi Arabia Neymar's dad has offered a cryptic remark on his son's exit from Paris Saint-Germain, suggesting there will be a time to discuss his motivation to leave the French capital. The transfer came in a year where supporters of the club came to the player's windows to cite their displeasure directly. The Brazilian superstar departed PSG in 2023 to make the move to Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League. The Middle East side splashed out on a £77million transfer fee and a reported annual salary of £129m for the former Barcelona ace. ‌ Neymar's departure from PSG came amidst an overhaul upon the arrival of Luis Enrique. That summer also saw exits for Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Marco Verratti as Neymar's inability to stay fit ensured it was deemed time to cut ties after supporters had already told him to leave. ‌ Nevertheless, Neymar still bagged 118 goals in 173 appearances for PSG and claimed five Ligue 1 titles following his £200m move from Barcelona. Crucially, the Champions League title remained elusive. Regardless, it appears Neymar's father looks back with fondness on his son's time in Paris, which he describes as the 'best phase of his career'. 'The fans felt betrayed and came to our windows. But that happens. We'll talk about the motivations for his departure at another time," Neymar Sr told L'Equipe. 'It was a great marriage, with crises, like with all couples, then a separation. It was the same when he left Santos and Barcelona," he added. "But you saw how he was welcomed in Santos when he returned. If he came back to the Parc, he would undoubtedly be applauded. "In life, you can marry out of love at first sight, but after a certain amount of time, the passion fades, and when we separate, we become good friends. I think that is the case with PSG. No one can wipe away what we did for PSG, and Neymar doesn't want to wipe away his history with the club." ‌ Neymar's move to Al Hilal was one that definitely did not work out however. After just five matches the Brazil legend ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and did not play for more than a year before then suffering a hamstring injury. The forward was then not registered by the club to feature under Jorge Jesus before his contract was terminated by mutual consent and a return to Santos completed.
