Director Dan Trachtenberg Confirms His Third PREDATOR Movie Will Continue Naru's Story — GeekTyrant

The future of the Predator franchise might just lie in its past… and its future.
Dan Trachtenberg, the director behind Prey , isn't done with the Predator universe, and he's making it clear that Naru, played by Amber Midthunder, still has a story to tell.
In a recent conversation with Fangoria, Trachtenberg said:
'I had a bunch of big ideas when I finished Prey, I would love to get to all of them. There's definitely a plan in mind, but the movie has to do well. So, we'll see.'
While he's careful not to reveal too much, Trachtenberg confirmed that the third movie will continue Naru's story:
'The third story, which I can't speak to yet, is what would happen with Naru.'
Naru already made an appearance In Predator: Killer of Killers , an animated anthology film now streaming on Hulu and Disney+, a reference to Naru is woven into the timeline-hopping story that spans Viking-era battles, 17th-century samurai duels, and WWII carnage.
Trachtenberg previously revealed that both Killers and Badlands were fast-tracked because he couldn't wait to get to a third project, and it seems like that project will continue Naru's story. He said'
'After Prey came out, and I started thinking about sequel stuff, there were three ideas that I had. Killers is one, Badlands is two and the third one is something else.
'The reason why I felt possessed to make them and sort of why I rushed – I did two at once because I could do, I could multitask with animation – was because I was so eager to get to the third thing.'
Trachenberg told Bloody Disgusting:
'The fun is that now we have the end of Prey set up something, and then there's this, and I love the slow play of it all. I think it's cool rather than smushing everything together inside one movie right away, we can really be elegant with our storytelling and hopefully aspire to that. So, it is not a setup for what's in Badlands, but it is a setup for what could happen afterward.'
That 'afterward' is what has fans excited. While Killer of Killers plays the long game, Predator: Badlands is taking the franchise somewhere exciting and unexpected.
Set in the far future, Badlands introduces Elle Fanning as Thia, a Weyland-Yutani android who teams up with Dek, a disgraced Yautja (voiced and mo-capped by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), in a story that could reshape Predator lore.
So while Badlands takes us lightyears ahead, the seeds for a potential Prey 2 are quietly sprouting beneath the surface. Trachtenberg clearly has a long-term vision, and Naru's journey might not be over just yet.
'I had a bunch of big ideas… I would love to get to all of them.' Let's hope we get the chance to see where they lead.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Planning to Watch This Classic Rom-Com Together Soon

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have kept their extremely high-profile relationship more quiet as of late—which means they could be taking part in more movie nights than normal. One movie atop the couple's to-watch list? The classic romantic comedy Pretty Woman, released in 1990 and starring Julia Roberts (as if we had to tell you). Kelce mentioned that was on their watch list in the June 18 episode of his podcast, 'New Heights,' which he co-hosts with his brother Jason Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce head out for dinner for date nights—and sometimes they stay in and watch movies. Interestingly, thanks to Kelce and his 'New Heights' podcast, we now know exactly what film the couple of two years will likely be watching on their next night in. Speaking with his brother Jason Kelce on the June 18 episode of the show, Kelce said that, when it comes to their next movie night together, 'We mentioned Pretty Woman,' referencing the iconic 1990 Julia Roberts film. 'That's been on me and Tay's movie list for a while,' he added. 'I'd be down to watch that.' One of the most high-profile couples in the world has been pretty low-key for most of 2025, following Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl loss in February. Save for a few dinner dates here and there—and a recent outing to watch home hockey on June 12—Swift and Kelce have mostly been laying low and out of the public eye, the perfect time for the aforementioned movie night. As Kelce gears up for the upcoming Chiefs season by training in Boca Raton, Florida, he will no doubt have Swift's support for what might end up being Kelce's last season in the National Football League. 'Having that confidence and comfort off the field and all the support I could ever ask for in the stadium—that's the beauty of being in a very strong relationship is that you get that support to be able to come in and focus on your craft,' Kelce said on a January 15 appearance on the Stephen A. Smith Show. 'Focus on being the best version of you.' In 2023, Swift told TIME of her relationship that 'When you say a relationship is public, that means I'm going to see him do what he loves, we're showing up for each other, other people are there, and we don't care. The opposite of that is that you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you're seeing someone. And we're just proud of each other.' While Swift and Kelce haven't been as front-facing as they have been in past, well, eras (sorry—had to), that doesn't mean anything is amiss, a source told Us Weekly. 'They are making fewer public appearances together because [their relationship] brings too much unwanted attention,' the insider said. 'There isn't trouble in paradise.' As for movie nights, the couple might also add the upcoming Happy Gilmore 2 to the list—Kelce has a cameo in the sequel to Adam Sandler's original 1996 Happy Gilmore, which is out on Netflix on July 25. That's a full month away—plenty of time to watch Pretty Woman before that. Read the original article on InStyle
