PG Electroplast share price jumps 6% on these two triggers. Do you own?

Mint2 days ago
PG Electroplast share price surged more than 6% due to two factors during Wednesday's trading session. The shares experienced an upward trend after the company finalised a definitive agreement with PAX India, a subsidiary of PAX Global Technology Limited, for the production of Point-of-Sale (POS) devices in India. The consumer durables manufacturer's stock also exited the Futures & Options (F&O) ban.
Experts indicate that exiting the F&O ban allows for the formation of new positions in the stock, which cannot occur while it is under a ban.
As per reports, a stock is removed from the F&O ban once its open positions drop below 80% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL), which signifies the highest allowable number of open derivative contracts that all market participants can maintain for a specific stock.
Talking about the strategic manufacturing partnership, as part of this deal, the company will produce PAX-branded POS devices at its current facilities, with production expected to commence by the end of the year. This collaboration signifies the firm's foray into the payments and financial technology hardware market, broadening its scope from consumer electronics to high-growth digital infrastructure solutions.
The partnership enhances PAX India's leading status by facilitating increased localisation, efficiency, and scalability. It further bolsters the Government of India's initiatives, 'Make in India' and 'Digital India,' by guaranteeing that high-quality POS devices are produced domestically to satisfy the country's rising need for secure and dependable electronic payment solutions.

Oval Invincibles To Be Renamed As MI London: Report

Last Updated: According to a report, the name change will take place ahead of the start of the 2026 edition of the Hundred. Oval Invincibles – the most successful team in The Hundred's history (two titles each for the men's and women's teams) – will be renamed MI London. According to a report in The Telegraph on Thursday (August 21), 'Oval Invincibles are expected to rebrand as MI London, the first choice of their Indian co-owners." As per the available information, the name change will take place ahead of the start of the sixth edition of The Hundred. Apart from the Oval Invincibles, MI owners own the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, the Mumbai Indian Women in the Women's Premier League, MI New York in Major League Cricket (MLC), MI Cape Town in SA20 and MI Emirates in International League T20 (ILT20). The Hundred will undergo major changes next year when the new ownership model will formally take over. In the popular 100-balls-per-side tournament, the host venues running teams will operate alongside new investors, who have bought at least 49 per cent of each team. Surrey are entering a partnership with the Ambanis, who bought 49% of Oval Invincibles in an auction which valued the franchise at £123m. According to the report, 'The name of the franchise from next year has been a contentious issue from the start and is not yet confirmed in writing. However, Telegraph Sport understands that it will be called MI London despite the wishes of Surrey, who initially wanted the county name incorporated into a rebranded Oval Invincibles." 'From a brand perspective, I hope we can brand it as a Surrey-branded team and part of our cricket ecosystem," chairman Oli Slipper was quoted as saying by Telegraph Sport in 2023. The name change of Oval Invincibles to MI London next year will mean that the Hundred competition will have two teams with London in their name, as the Lord's-based side are known as London Spirit. Apart from Oval Invincibles, Manchester Originals will also change their name to Manchester Super Giants next year, and Northern Superchargers will have Sunrisers in their name. It has been reported that Sunrisers Leeds has been considered as an alternative to keeping 'Northern". view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Punjab Governor lauds role of startups in shaping India's future

Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria on Thursday lauded the role of startups in shaping India's economic and technological future. Speaking at a start-up conclave organised here at the CII Northern Region Headquarters that saw vibrant participation from budding entrepreneurs, incubators, investors, and representatives of the corporate and academic sectors, the Governor said India has now emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world -- a remarkable feat that reflects the power of innovation and youth-led enterprise. The initiatives like 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat', 'Make in India', and 'Digital India' have provided the necessary foundation and ecosystem to support startups, enabling them to dream big and scale globally. Governor Kataria commended the proactive approach of the Chandigarh administration in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation through a robust start-up policy. He also encouraged the youth to take full advantage of the enabling environment, especially in a region that enjoys unique advantages like high literacy, excellent connectivity, and premier educational institutions. He called upon young entrepreneurs to take inspiration from India's vision of 'Viksit Bharat @2047', and channel their innovations towards solving real-world challenges, particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, urban mobility, sustainable development, and agriculture. The Governor also emphasised the need for collaboration between government bodies, industry partners, and academic institutions to create a supportive innovation ecosystem. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Industries), elaborated on Chandigarh's startup policy, highlighting that over 600 startups are registered with DPIIT from the city. He underlined Chandigarh's geographic and administrative advantages, proximity to the northern region trade zone, and the contribution of premier institutions like PEC, PGIMER, and IIT Ropar as incubators that support the startup journey from ideation to commercialisation. He said the policy focuses on both startups and incubators and provides support across stages, seed, early growth, and market entry, to strengthen the startup ecosystem. Officials of the CII also participated in the deliberations, reaffirming their commitment to providing strategic mentorship, market access, and incubation support to emerging ventures.
