BSF jawan who took part in Operation Sindoor honoured with multiple rounds of applause during IndiGo flight
NEW DELHI: The noble gesture of a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel who saved the lives of fellow soldiers during heavy firing from Pakistan during Operation Sindoor on May 7 received multiple rounds of applause from co-passengers on board an IndiGo flight he was travelling.
The jawan's gesture was acknowledged by the Flight Captain on the flight heading from Delhi to Bengaluru on Tuesday morning (June 10).
Assistant Sub Inspector of Border Security Force (BSF), Rajapaksh B T, was quietly seated on a window seat, when the Flight Captain drew the attention of flyers to the presence of a special traveller.
Facing the flyers, the Captain took the mike and said (in English), 'This message is to honour a very special traveller on board. During Operation Sindoor on May 7 and 8, Assistant Sub Inspector, General Duty, Rajapaksh B T,General Duty, 165 Battalion Border Security Force was seriously injured while helping fellow soldiers during heavy firing at the international border near Jammu. His fearless action even when under attack helped save the lives of fellow soldiers and forced the enemy to retreat. '
The captain added, 'He showed true courage, true courage, quick thinking and dedication to duty. Let us honour him with a round of applause. '

India scuppered 200,000 cyberattacks during Operation Sindoor: Khattar
India foiled around two lakh cyberattacks targeting its power infrastructure in over the week during the Operation Sindoor, Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said here on Thursday. "Since the advancement in technology, new dangers have emerged -- cyberattacks or cybercrimes. There has been an increase in these, but the government has worked on it, and our cybersecurity has almost stopped all such dangers," Khattar told reporters here. He was addressing a press conference on the completion of 11 years of the BJP-led Central government. "There have been many cyberattacks on the country. As far as the Power department is concerned, around two lakh cyberattacks were attempted, but our cyber department foiled each one of them, and there were no losses," the minister said. Khattar said these attempts were made in "eight to ten days" around the time Operation Sindoor went underway. Asked whether the attacks were made from within the country or outside it, the minister said these attacks can take place from any corner of the world. "It is known worldwide that those against us will do things like these, but We have stopped such attacks. Our system is capable and in the future also, we will foil all such attacks," he said. "When someone fails for the first time, and second time, he will ultimately get discouraged and stop," he added.

4 railways officials suspended for giving filthy coach to BSF jawans
NEW DELHI: A day after a video went viral showing dilapidated rail coaches requisitioned to transport over a thousand BSF personnel from Tripura to Jammu, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ordered the suspension of four railway officials responsible for the decision. The BSF personnel were being moved for security duty for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. Those suspended included a coaching depot officer and three senior section engineers from the Alipurduar division under the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) for undermining the dignity of the security forces and failing to allocate clean coaches.
