A five-year-old girl has been seriously hurt after a hit-and-run outside her home involving an electric motorbike.The incident happened on Thursday evening in Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, and left the girl with "potentially life-changing" injuries.Police said the rider of an electric-blue and black Surron or Talaria-style electric motorbike collided with her on Brompton Road.The rider has been described as a white male, aged around 17 to 18 years old. He was wearing black clothes, a hooded top, and a balaclava.
The jacket of the rider had a "distinctive motif printed or embroidered across the rear of the shoulders", police added.The bike had front forks wrapped in either white or reflective striping.Officers have asked witnesses or anybody with either dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward.

The specialist road policing officers warned unwitting motorists that they will be employing a range of tactics to snare bad drivers. 2 It comes as Cornwall begins to see an increase in holidaymakers using its roads. Officers will be deploying special tactics in an effort to tackle dangerous driving in the seaside holiday hotspot. Cops will employ high visibility and undercover tactics to catch out tourists. They will be focusing on identifying the drivers known for causing the most collisions in the UK - dangerous drivers - and stopping vehicles linked to crime. Images shared by Devon and Cornwall Police show the officers already acting on their words and snaring an unwitting driver. Devon and Cornwall Police have seen four arrests for suspected drug driving over the last two days of action. Two vehicles were seized and two people using phones behind the wheel were caught out. A further two people driving without an MOT, two people driving without a seatbelt and three people without insurance were caught. The underhanded tactics also turned up one surrendered licence after the motorist failed an eye sight test. Devon and Cornwall Police said the drivers have been reported and penalties will be issued where appropriate, including points on licenses and fines. Operations Commander Jim Gale said: " Keeping the roads safe remains our focus." Inspector Tony Hannaford, who heads up roads policing teams in West Cornwall issued a warning to careless drivers and criminals. 2 He said: "We'll be on the roads looking out for you, whether you know we're there or not, to put a stop to your dangerous behaviour. This action isn't a one-off." In a more light-hearted message Inspector Hannaford went on to say the force looks forward to welcoming tourists to their towns. He added a cautionary warning to drivers to please pre-plan their journeys and take breaks.
