Suspect arrested after ‘American Idol' executive, her husband shot to death: Police
Raymond Boodarian, a 22-year-old Encino man, was arrested on Tuesday by the Los Angeles Police Department's Operations-Valley Bureau Homicide unit, investigators announced in a news release.
On Monday afternoon, officers with the police department's West Valley Division went to an upscale home in the 4700 block of White Oak Avenue to check on 70-year-old Robin Kaye and her husband, 70-year-old Thomas Deluca.
A 911 caller requested the wellness check after not hearing from them for several days.
According to Los Angeles police, when they arrived, officers found Kaye and Deluca shot to death.
Police detectives began interviewing friends and family and reviewing multiple surveillance videos. Through the investigation, detectives learned that a radio call went out for a possible burglary suspect at the home on July 10.
'While there were no signs of forced entry or trouble at the location during that investigation, it is now believed that the suspect had gained entry into the residence through an unlocked door,' the police department said in the release.
Investigators believe that, when the couple returned home, the suspect was already inside 'and a confrontation ensued.'
Kaye and Deluca died from multiple gunshot wounds and the suspect got away on foot, the police department said.
Detectives later identified the suspect as Boodarian, who was taken into custody without incident.
Los Angeles police said the double-homicide remains under investigation at this time.
Kaye was best known for serving as a music supervisor on 'American Idol,' but she also did work on television series such as 'The Singing Bee,' 'Miss Universe' and 'Lip Sync Battle,' according to IMDB.
In a statement sent to People, 'American Idol' said they are 'devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom's, passing.' The statement went on to call Kaye a 'cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009' and 'truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her.'
As previously reported by KTLA, the home was formerly owned by the late rapper Juice WRLD, who died in 2019. Records indicate that Kaye and Deluca bought the home in 2023, the outlet reported.

'Ketamine Queen' accused of selling Matthew Perry fatal dose gets September trial date
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A woman charged with selling Matthew Perry the dose of ketamine that killed him is headed for a September trial. Jasveen Sangha's trial — the only one forthcoming in the death of the 'Friends' star after four other defendants reached plea agreements with prosecutors — is now set to begin Sept. 23 after an order Tuesday from a federal judge in Los Angeles. The 42-year-old Sangha, who prosecutors say was known to her customers as 'The Ketamine Queen,' is charged with five counts of ketamine distribution, including one count of distribution resulting in death. She has pleaded not guilty and has been held in federal custody since her arrest last year. Her trial had been scheduled to start Aug. 19, but the judge postponed it for the fourth time since her April 2024 indictment after both sides agreed it should be moved. Sangha's lawyers said they needed the time to go through the huge amount of evidence they have received from the prosecution and to finish their own investigation. Sangha was one of the two biggest targets in the investigation of Perry's death, along with Dr. Salvador Plasencia, who pleaded guilty to ketamine distribution last month. Perry's personal assistant, his friend and another doctor also entered guilty pleas and are cooperating with prosecutors. All are awaiting sentencing. Perry, who was found dead at age 54 at his home on Oct. 23, 2023, had been getting ketamine from his regular doctor for treatment of depression, an increasingly common off-label use for the surgical anesthetic. But prosecutors say when the doctor wouldn't give Perry as much as he wanted, he illegally sought more from Plasencia, then still more from Sangha, who they say presented herself as 'a celebrity drug dealer with high quality goods.' Perry's assistant and friend said in their plea agreements that they acted as middlemen to buy large amounts of ketamine for Perry from Sangha, including 25 vials for $6,000 in cash a few days before his death. Prosecutors allege that included the doses that killed Perry.
