The MLB All-Star Game of 2025 approaches, and supporters are poised. On Tuesday, July 16, at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia, the American League and National League will convene in what looks to be a tight struggle.
With Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Paul Skenes, and Cal Raleigh all participating, this competition has the components of a classic.
Shohei Ohtani and Ronald Acuna Jr. lead National League charge in All-Star Game 2025
Beginning for the National League will be Paul Skenes, a brilliant young pitcher from the Pittsburgh Pirates. Skenes has an astounding 2. 01 ERA even with a 4-8 record. Opening for the NL will be Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani has been explosive in 2025, hitting. 276 with 32 home runs and 60 RBI in 95 games.
Twelve stolen bases have also been added by him, which makes him among the most rounded baseball players.
Ronald Acuna Jr. , the Atlanta Braves outfielder set to play in front of his home crowd, is another prominent name for the NL. With 12 home runs and 22 RBIs in only 45 games this season, Acuna is batting .323. His recent performances, including a two-home-run game against Oakland, make him someone to watch closely.
The National League is a slight favorite to win, with DraftKings Sportsbook listing them at -132, while the American League is at +108.

Image via Imagn: George Springer In a frightening moment that left fans in the stadium holding their breath and stunned viewers around the world, Toronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer was struck in the head by a blazing 96 mph fastball in the ninth inning. The pitch came from Baltimore Orioles rookie right-hander Kade Strowd and immediately sent shockwaves through Camden Yards. Springer lay motionless for several tense moments before being helped off the field entirely, prompting serious concern for his condition. George Springer Dropped to the Ground for a Minute Before Walking Off the Field The pitch rode high and tight, striking Springer square on the left ear flap of his batting helmet. Kind of got him on the shoulder and then the helmet. Thankfully, he was able to turn a little bit, too," Schneider said. "That's the worst part of baseball, for any side, when a pitch gets thrown that high. You don't think about baseball, you think about the human. It's scary, it happens, it sucks.' Schneider also noted that Springer was communicating with him while still on the ground, which he called a promising sign after such a frightening blow to the head. "He was alert the whole time. Which is a good thing. But you hate to see that happen to anyone at any time." The incident comes at a tough time for the Blue Jays, who are already without All-Star catcher Alejandro Kirk. Springer, 35, has been in strong form lately, batting .291 with 18 home runs and an impressive .889 OPS, showing signs of a true resurgence this season. 'Messi Might Come To Al-Ahly': Mahrez Waiting For ARG Star To Step Foot In Saudi

Al-Ahly winger Riyad Mahrez dreams of playing alongside Lionel Messi in the Saudi Pro League, envisioning the latter as a playmaker. Al-Ahly winger Riyad Mahrez has said that it would be a dream for the team to play alongside Lionel Messi, if he arrives in the Saudi Pro League, and he would like to imagine him as the playmaker with himself on the wing. There has been a murmur around Messi moving to Saudi Arabia over the past few weeks. Cristiano Ronaldo helped transform the Saudi Pro League after joining Al Nassr as a free agent in January 2023. He believes that the tournament is amongst the world's top five leagues and is a superior product to Ligue 1 and Major League Soccer. 'Saudi League is better than Ligue 1, of course. Try to sprint in 38, 39, 40-degree weather and see. France only has PSG. The rest are finished," Ronaldo had said in December. 'No. I think the five big European leagues are ahead and then we can start to compete with the other leagues. We're not too far off, I think. After that, the goal isn't to be the best league in the world right now," Mahrez said earlier this month when asked about Ronaldo's statement. 'Those like me who have arrived are here at the beginning of this adventure; we're a bit like pioneers. We're helping them make this league stronger. And frankly, over my two seasons, I've felt progress in the teams, the coaches, the tactics and the organisation," Mahrez added. After disagreeing with Ronaldo, the Al-Ahly winger was interviewed by CARRE, where he said that he and Messi would make a great duo. 'We heard from the newspapers that Messi might come to Al-Ahly. It would be a dream for us to play together… I imagine him as a playmaker and me on the wing. We would make a great duo," Mahrez said. 'There is no special protection for dribbling players. Maybe Messi would receive special treatment if he decided to come, but not me. I received a lot of beatings," Mahrez added. Messi's contract with Inter Miami is up in late 2025 and Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahly are 'ready to do whatever it takes' to convince Messi to sign with them, according to reports. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Stephanie Talbot and Isabelle Harrison contributed 10 points apiece. — WNBA (@WNBA) Dallas raced to a 16-2 start behind early buckets from Ogunbowale and Bueckers. They built a 23-6 lead before New York responded, closing the first quarter down 31-19. The Wings opened the second quarter with a 10-1 run and extended the margin to 63-36 by halftime. — WNBA (@WNBA) Though the Liberty showed late fight, the absence of Stewart was glaring as they began a four-game road trip hoping for her return.
