BRUSSELS (WAM) Emirati athletes continue to impress on the global stage, as young rider Ali Al Ali delivered a remarkable achievement for the UAE's jet ski scene, winning two silver medals in the Junior 4-Stroke and Junior 2-Stroke categories at the second round of the WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2025.Veteran rider Mohammed Mohsen also secured a bronze medal in the Veterans Runabout Limited category, after a highly competitive race against top international riders.The tournament, held at the Lakes of Eau d'Heure in Belgium, featured over 200 competitors from 33 countries.With this double podium finish, Al Ali has risen to second place in the overall world standings, significantly boosting his chances of capturing the title at the final round, scheduled to take place in Pattaya, Thailand, on December 17.Ahmed Al Tayyer was forced to withdraw due to a technical issue, while Saif Al Shuweihi exited the competition following a crash in one of the heats.The WGP#1 Waterjet World Series is one of the world's premier jet ski competitions, sanctioned by the International Jet Sports Boating Association (IJSBA).
The championship is held annually across three main rounds in Japan, Belgium, and Thailand.

The Al Shira'aa Tour returned to Hickstead for the Al Shira'aa Young Horse Championships, a key fixture in the development of future stars, before heading to Turnier der Sieger, set against the picturesque backdrop of Munster Castle, Germany, for the CSI4* from August 21 - 24.

Participants used augmented reality glasses to engage in interactive sessions in digital environments that simulate future training and sports arenas. Participants experienced an atmosphere of excitement and discovery, interacting with virtual content in a way that stimulated sensory and visual perception. This unique experience combined learning with enjoyment, and contributed to strengthening their understanding of the difference between the digital and real worlds through purposeful discussions and practical application. Keeping pace with digital transformation The workshop is part of Al Dhaid Club's vision to keep pace with digital transformations in the sports sector and instill the concepts of innovation and technology in the minds of the younger generation. This emphasises the importance of building future capabilities and enhancing national competencies in modern fields. A generation capable of interacting with technological changes For his part, His Excellency Humaid Abdullah Balsadriya Al Khatri, Vice Chairman of Al Dhaid Club's Board of Directors, emphasised that the workshop embodies the club's commitment to preparing a generation capable of interacting with technological changes in a sporting spirit. He noted that adopting augmented reality technologies in training programs is a qualitative step that opens new horizons for Emirati youth to discover their potential in a fun and innovative way. Al Khatri explained that these initiatives come with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the concept of cognitive sports and prepare a conscious generation capable of excelling in the arenas of the future.
