After eight seasons as the football coach at Lynn Classical,
Brian Vaughan
will be moving over to Arlington Catholic. Vaughan went 43-38 at Lynn Classical, where he coached his son,
Brian Vaughan Jr.
, now a freshman quarterback at Western Connecticut State. The elder Vaughan was a standout running back at Lynn English and graduated as the all-time leading rusher at Northeastern. He has served as an assistant at Lynn English, Winthrop, and Everett and was head coach at South Boston, Boston English and Pope John in Everett. He takes over an Arlington Catholic program that went 1-10 each of the last two seasons and, other than a 2-2 finish in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, hasn't had a winning record since 2014. Vaughan takes over for Brian Wilcox, who coached the Cougars for five seasons.
3. Fabulous Pham
For the fifth time in the award's 40-year history, the Gatorade Massachusetts Girls' Basketball Player of the Year went to a player from Noble & Greenough School.

Scoreless in Fayetteville
Which teams will join Coastal Carolina, Arizona and Louisville in the College World Series? Follow all our coverage of the Super Regionals Imagn Images Coastal Carolina swept Auburn while Arizona and Louisville won Game 3s to earn spots in Omaha for the College World Series. Who will join them? Today's games (all times are ET): Game 2s: Game 3s: Louisville 3, Miami 2 (FINAL), Louisville wins series 2-1 Arizona 4, North Carolina 3 (FINAL), Arizona wins series 2-1 Florida State at Oregon State, 9 p.m. (ESPN), Tied 1-1 More ways to follow the action and be part of the discussion: GO FURTHER How college baseball learned to stop worrying and lean into the long ball Connections: Sports Edition Spot the pattern. Connect the terms Find the hidden link between sports terms T2 - Tennessee 0, Arkansas 0 No score yet early in the hotly-anticipated matchup between defending national champion Tennessee and powerhouse SEC rival Arkansas. Both starters, the Volunteers' Marcus Phillips and the Razorbacks' Zach Root, handled business in the first inning. B7 - Auburn 1, Coastal Carolina 1 Coastal Carolina has broken through! Walker Mitchell's RBI single plates Sebastian Alexander and we're tied late with the Chanticleers a win away from the Men's College World Series. Imagn Images LSU and West Virginia both have seven hits. LSU leads 16-5 in the top of the seventh, thanks in large part to the 12 free bases (seven walks and five HBPs) issued by the Mountaineers' pitching staff. Ten of those 12 runners have scored. Courtesy of Tennessee Athletics The defending champion Vols vs. the tournament favorite Razorbacks (or they should be anyway). They're up next at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN. What a matchup. T7 - LSU 16, West Virginia 5 LSU has its second grand slam of the day, this one from Josh Pearson, and this game is officially out of hand. It looked for a minute like the Mountaineers were going to try to mount a rally. The Tigers, however, put an end to that. B5 - Auburn 1, Coastal Carolina Down a game in the series after losing in extra innings last night, the Tigers are clinging to a one-run lead. Clinging indeed. The Chanticleers loaded the bases with no outs in the fifth but couldn't get any runners home. Cade Fisher got a strikeout, a popout on the infield and another strikeout to end the inning, and the Tigers still lead. Courtesy of Arkansas Athletics This is one of the most hyped Super Regionals matchups since the tournament introduced this format in 1999. Tennessee is the No. 14 overall seed but is clearly one of the most talented teams in the nation. The Vols have been undone this year by poor defense at times and the inability to find the right pitching combination in Game 3s of their weekend series — they lost the third game in six of their final seven SEC series. Arkansas' roster is elite, with great starting pitching, tons of options in the bullpen and an offense that led the SEC in runs scored (by 41!) in league games. We won't get the Liam Doyle vs. Zach Root pitching matchup in Game 1 since the Vols are giving their ace an extra day of rest, but No. 2 starter Marcus Phillips is very capable of slowing down the Hogs offense. One prediction I feel good about: There will be some fireworks at some point in this series. Another prediction: Arkansas in 3 Imagn Images The Blue Devils take down Murray State 7-4 in Game 1 of their series. The Blue Devils will clinch a trip to Omaha for the College World Series with a win on Sunday. That game is scheduled for noon. Imagn Images B8 - Duke 7, Murray State 4 Murray State has outhit Duke 8-to-5 and has had a runner on base in all but one inning but trails Duke 7-4 in the bottom of the eighth. The Racers have left nine men on base. B5 - LSU 7, West Virginia 1 The Tigers have used the long ball to take control of this one after trailing early. Steven Milam's grand slam has Alex Box Stadium ROCKING. Drama in Chapel Hill. Arizona forces a Game 3 by defeating North Carolina 10-8 in Game 2 of the Chapel Hill Regional. The Wildcats surged ahead with four runs in the bottom of the seventh and then held on when ace reliever Tony Pluta — who threw a career-high 52 pitches — worked around a leadoff single in the top of the ninth to retire the next three Tar Heels. Imagn Images We're going to have at least two Game 3s tomorrow. Arizona's comeback is complete as it holds off North Carolina 10-8. The two teams will play Game 3 tomorrow with the game time yet to be determined. What a turnaround from yesterday's 10-8 whitewash. Louisville and Miami are also headed for a Game 3. T5 - LSU 3, West Virginia 1 The Tigers finally get their offense going with a three-run home run by Derek Curiel. LSU's offense has been spotty all season, but the Tigers needed that one to get some life into their stadium. B6 - Duke 6, Murray State 2 Kyle Johnson does it again with a double in the sixth to score another run. Johnson has two doubles and a home run in three at-bats, and he has driven in five runs. What a day for a player who is only in the lineup because of a suspension. He really has stepped up today for Duke. Imagn Images B7 - Arizona 10, North Carolina 8 The Wildcats have answered the Tar Heels' four runs in the top of the seventh with four of their own in the bottom of the seventh, and the Wildcats are six outs from a Game 3 tomorrow. Will the Heels respond again? This game is bonkers. Imagn Images B7 - North Carolina 8, Arizona 8 And the Wildcats have shown that fight again as they've scored two runs in the seventh to tie the game up again. Have to mention again how impressed I am with the Wildcats' fight in Game 2 after being destroyed in Game 1. Coastal Carolina and Auburn are up next at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN2. The Chanticleers will book their trip to Omaha with a win after beating the Tigers in extra innings in Game 1 after a nearly two-hour weather delay. Imagn Images B7 - North Carolina 8, Arizona 6 The Tar Heels are nine outs from Omaha, and now they have the lead again after scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning. Arizona will have to show some more fight (which they've shown all day) to get this series to a Game 3. B4 - Duke 4, Murray State 2 Kyle Johnson, again! The pitcher/outfielder smacked a two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the fourth to give Duke a 4-2 lead over Murray State. Johnson has Duke's only two hits and all four RBIs.

NCAA Baseball Tournament: Coastal Carolina 1st team to advance to College World Series with 4-1 win over Auburn
Coastal Carolina outfielder Sebastian Alexander batted 3-for-4 in a 4-1 victory over Auburn that advanced the Chanticleers to the 2025 College World Series. (AP Photo/Stew Milne) Coastal Carolina is the first team to qualify for the 2025 College World Series after defeating Auburn, 4-1, on Saturday. The Chanticleers swept the Tigers in their home regional to advance. Auburn held a 1-0 lead until the seventh inning when Coastal Carolina broke through for three runs. Sebastian Alexander hit a leadoff double and was moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Blake Barthol. Walker Mitchell followed up with an RBI single to tie the score at 1-1. Advertisement Tigers pitcher Cade Fisher got Colby Thorndyke to fly out, but the next four Chanticleers batters reached base, resulting in two runs scoring. Blagen Pado singled, Ty Dooley reached on an error by Auburn first baseman Connor McMurray, Ty Borrango drew a walk and Wells Sykes was hit by a pitch. Coastal Carolina boosted its lead to 4-1 in the eighth inning on a RBI single by Mitchell, driving in Alexander, who led off the frame with a double. Hayden Johnson closed out the win for the Chanticleers, getting three consecutive outs after allowing a leadoff double to Eric Guevara in the top of the ninth. The sophomore left-hander pitched three scoreless innings, giving up two hits with five strikeouts. Jacob Morrison started for Coastal Carolina, throwing six innings and allowing one run with six hits and three walks. Alexander and Mitchell both got three hits for Coastal Carolina, which improved its record to 52-11. Advertisement For Auburn, Fisher took the loss after allowing one earned run and five hits with four strikeouts in 2 2/3 innings. Andreas Alvarez got the start, pitching four scoreless innings with four hits and two walks. Parker Carlson allowed the other run for the Tigers in one-third of an inning. Chase Fralick drove in the lone run for Auburn, which finishes the season at 41-19. Coastal Carolina advances to the College World Series after following up a 7-6 win in 10 innings on Friday night with Saturday's victory. The Chanticleers will go to Omaha for the first time since 2016 when they won the national championship. With wins in their best-of-3 series on Sunday, Arkansas, North Carolina, Arizona, LSU, Louisville, Miami, Duke, Oregon State and Florida State can clinch trips to the College World Series as well.

NFL fans have another reason to love Saquon Barkley after recent GMA appearance
NFL fans have another reason to love Saquon Barkley after recent GMA appearance Saquon Barkley's humility continues to make headlines in the best way possible. Attitudes say a lot. They're a reflection of the person who demonstrates them, but they're also a reflection of upbringing, status, and leadership. It's easy to love the Philadelphia Eagles because there have long been so many colorful characters who have character. That's much of the reason why we'll miss Brandon Graham. Philadelphia is in good hands, though, as Graham left the organization with a younger brother of sorts in the form of Nolan Smith. He's oozing with personality, and fans will continue to love getting to know him. Another of the fan favorites is a veteran who is four years the Philly Dawg's senior. If you missed Saquon Barkley's recent appearance on Good Morning America, you certainly robbed yourself of a treat. Saquon Barkley further ingratiates himself with Eagles fans and the NFL community. Live long enough, and people will travel in and out of your life. Some people show up to stay, and some show up who will, at some point, leave. Sometimes, hurt feelings and bad days lead to falling out. Oftentimes, the good news is that many of those relationships can be repaired. The Eagles' rivalry with the New York Giants isn't one of those repairable relationships. These two mortal enemies have participated in a feud that dates back to 1933. Saquon's defection from Gotham to the City of Brotherly Love didn't help ease any of the tension. Still, recently, the reigning Offensive Player of the Year made an appearance on Good Morning America. Perhaps you have heard. A former Giants legend, Michael Strahan, is one of the hosts. We live in a world where stars exalt themselves. Sometimes, fans don't help in that regard. They overhype men and women who put their pants on one leg at a time, like the rest of us. There's also another contingent. Some people haven't accomplished much but are cruel and arrogant without having any real reason. Seriously, what's their problem? Saquon is a breath of fresh air, a star who brings dignity and humility to every interaction and encounter with grace and compassion. Despite reaching star status, he gives us hope. Saquon teaches us every time we see him that there are good people in high places. Strahan is right. The Birds and G-Men may never get along, but if Big Blue's fans are being honest, they miss Saquon. He's someone worth cheering for, but Eagles fans are used to that. Remember... Characters who have character...
