‘Samurai Troopers' Is Back With A New ‘Demon Slayer' Infused Anime
The 80s anime classic Samurai Troopers, known internationally as Ronin Warriors, is getting a new anime, and it looks great.
The original show's premise dealt with a demonic invasion being thwarted by plucky heroes in mystical samurai armor, which worked sort of like power armor.
The mecha linkage wasn't an arbitrary one either, as mecha anime veteran Ryosuke Takahashi handled the series' composition.
As for this new series, it seems to follow on from the original and takes a decidedly Demon Slayer-esque approach to the animation.
The whole demon element to the story also lends itself well to leaning on Demon Slayer's mindshare, especially as Samurai Warriors would have acted as an inspiration for that series anyway.
The other aspect to all this is that, back in the day, the original Samurai Troopers received all manner of amazing toys.
Even recently, the series has had some more modern toy releases courtesy of Bandai Spirits.
So it does make sense to create a new Samurai Troopers anime from the toy standpoint alone, and it seems Bandai Spirits is already involved in coming up with toys for this new show.
In any case, a new Samurai Troopers anime is entirely welcome, and if you're curious about the original anime, you can pick up the Blu-ray via Crunchyroll's online store.

‘Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion' Gets Some Nice Character Trailers
With the release of Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion looming, we've now been graced with some new character trailers. Specifically, we have two trailers covering the main factions in the game: the Reclaimers and the Neun. The Reclaimers are ostensibly the good guys and are trying to save humanity from the ravaging force of Femto and the subsequent 'Immortals' that roam the shattered landscape. The Neun are the Femto mutated baddies, who think humanity is an evolutionary dead-end and should be eradicated. So the characterization this time around is at least better than the almost incoherent narrative from the first game. Many of the Reclaimers also have fun personalities, with even a robot kid thrown in for good measure as a nod to Astro Boy. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder The Neun are your bosses, with excessively potent abilities and superiority complexes to match. The characters this time around are also penned by Kimihiko Fujisaka, which gives the game a more artsy role-playing feel, which fits with the whole new open world setup that's been shown. Anyway, the more I see of Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, the happier I am, as I think this will be a real gem of a game on release. Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion will be released on September 5 for Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. In the meantime, feel free to check out my interview with the game's producer, Kenichiro Tsukuda. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube. Oasis Charts A Late-In-Career New Top 40 Hit With A Decades-Old Song
More than 15 years after Oasis went on what was expected to be its last concert trek, the Dig Out Your Soul Tour, the band is back together for a string of shows. The Oasis Live 25 Tour began on July 4 and is expected to end in November, with dates spread out across Europe, the United States, Asia, Australia, and South America. The group has wrapped its shows in the United Kingdom for now, but there's still a lot of excitement connected to the legendary Britpop outfit. This frame, many of the band's most successful albums and singles continue to find space on a multitude of charts. The rockers even manage to collect a brand new top 40 hit with a decades-old tune. 'Slide Away' Debuts Inside the Top 40 'Slide Away' launches on the Official Singles chart this week, opening at No. 31. The title is performing well enough on both streaming platforms and digital download storefronts — which both feed into the competitive tally — that it gives the band yet another smash. A Coincidence on the Charts Oasis has now racked up 31 hits on the Official Singles chart. Fittingly, 'Slide Away' opens at No. 31. The group has collected 28 top 40 hits in the country, as only a handful of cuts have missed out on the region that typically defines a proper win. 'Slide Away' Was Never Pushed as a Single 'Slide Away' was never released as a single, but it becomes a top 40 smash in the U.K. this week nonetheless. The tune is featured on the band's debut full-length Definitely Maybe, which dropped in the summer of 1994 and is now more than 30 years old. 'Slide Away' Falls on Sales and Streaming Rankings As 'Slide Away' launches on the Official Singles roster, it also appears on three other tallies, but declines on all of them. The song slips on the Official Streaming, Official Singles Downloads, and Official Singles Sales charts, settling at Nos. 77, 86, and 90, respectively, six weeks into its life on all three tallies. 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Live Forever' Per Official Charts Company rules, Oasis only claims three spaces on the Official Singles chart at the moment, the most allowed per musical act in a lead role at one time. 'Slide Away' joins 'Don't Look Back in Anger' and 'Live Forever,' which dip slightly to Nos. 22 and 27, respectively. Both of those tracks had previously reached the top 10, and 'Don't Look Back in Anger' is counted among Oasis' No. 1s.

Bandai Spirits Is Doing A Metal Gear REX Chogokin Toy
In rather momentous news, Bandai Spirits has announced that they will be making a Metal Gear REX chogokin, with more details to be revealed at the end of the month. Metal Gear REX is the main enemy mecha in Metal Gear Solid, and is arguably one of the best mecha designs in the entire Metal Gear series. Designed by Yoji Shinkawa, the REX is able to fire a nuclear warhead from its right shoulder-mounted railgun and is also armed with an array of other formidable weaponry. Now, we already had a really massive and expensive toy of Metal Gear REX back in 2012, courtesy of threeA. However, it didn't really have much diecast used in its construction, and due to its size and weight, it often had issues with its leg joints. That was then followed by a very nice kit by Kotobukiya in the same year, and as that was a fair bit smaller, it held together a bit better, but was still a kit and suitably fragile with it. FEATURED | Frase ByForbes™ Unscramble The Anagram To Reveal The Phrase Pinpoint By Linkedin Guess The Category Queens By Linkedin Crown Each Region Crossclimb By Linkedin Unlock A Trivia Ladder This new chogokin, though, is a whole other thing entirely. This is because chogokin toys use an inordinate amount of diecast in their construction, and while this may not be as huge as the threeA version, it will be an awful lot sturdier due to this use of diecast. It's also interesting that Bandai Spirits is releasing this via the vanilla Chogokin toy line, rather than anything else. In that, certain toy lines at Bandai Spirits carry certain expectations, but as this is just a Chogokin release, the team on this can do pretty much whatever they think will work. I remember holding back on the old threeA toy after reports came in that the joints shattered under its own weight, but I think I will take the plunge this time around, as the various other Chogokin releases I have are very well made indeed. More details about this Chogokin Metal Gear REX will be announced on August 28, the same day that Metal Gear Solid Delta is released. Follow me on X, Facebook and YouTube.
